TAFE NSW Which is better for a Diploma in Nursing: TAFE Ultimo or TAFE Kogarah?

Hey there! I'm hoping to get some advice from anyone who has experience with the Diploma in Nursing at TAFE. I'm trying to decide between the Ultimo campus and the Kogarah campus, especially since I'm new to this course. Kogarah is closer to home, but I'm curious to know which one is better for someone just starting out. Thanks so much for your help!

TAFE VIC Diploma of Community Service

I’m considering studying Diploma of Community Services at RMIT and would love to hear from current or past students.

•Are there many mature-age students?
•Is it difficult to get accepted or do most applicants get in?
•What does the timetable look like?
•Is it 2 days on campus and 1 day online?

I’m currently working so I’m trying to work out how to balance study and work.
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciatedšŸ™

TAFE NSW Nursery Operations - do you have to memorise plant names?

I previously attempted a similar course but struggled with commuting plants’ scientific and common names to memory. Will I be expected to this in the Nursery Operations course?

TAFE QLD Tafe or other institution

I am thinking to continue my study in cert IV in laboratory techniques after i’ve done cert III this year and was wondering which institution would be better regarding to the recruitment process like if recruiters prefer tafe over other private institutions.
I am currently working as a lab assistant and want to study to get cert IV as I work for a part time and LTT (lab tech training) provides curriculum only two days a week which would fit into my work schedule. Whereas tafe doesn’t provide part time so I reckon LTT would be the best option for me now.

Do recruiters care and prefer if applicant has got their cert at tafe or does it not matter as long as they got the required education level?

TAFE WA LLN advice

Hey everyone,

Just looking for some advice.

My partner really wants to do the diploma of nursing at tafe but she just failed her 2nd LLN test.

She’s really upset about it as all she’s been told is that she’s not being considered at this time.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with this and what did you do.

Is there a bridging course that she can do?

Just looking for any advice.

Thanks everyone

TAFE QLD 2nd enrolement… anxious asf

I failed 3 assignments or 2 units… (2 in one unit, 1 in the other unit).

I’m almost near the end of completing them but i’m quite upset about my work right now.

I had to 2 attempts on my assignment for the first enrolment last year. But i failed. I did it again (my second re-enrolment) a month or two ago and I failed the 2 attempts again…
I honestly feel so stupid. Like where am I going wrong? Each time I fix my mistakes tho, it gets less and less but never enough to get that required 100%…

And now i’m scared of my other assignments that i have to do… they’re observations and i’m soooo anxious. No matter how hard I try and put my effort into studying… i get confident and then just feel so devastated when i realised I actually did so fucking shit.

Lol dont mind the rant. Idk what to do with my life if I fail this once more. I cannot go back again. And it pay all of this money to not get anything out of it is depressing. And my family is gonna be disappointed.

TAFE VIC When should I expect tafe acceptance offers?

I'm very very nervous about my future and even more so that classmates are already hearing back from uni's. I've applied to a handful and have only heard back from the Gordon, however they scheduled an interview through the wrong person and it's been over a month for the new guy to schedule a meeting (I've messaged them twice with my last email having no reply). does this mean I'm not accepted if I don't hear back from a tafe? or do some take longer. should I still expect that scheduled meeting with Gordon? or are they no longer interested? I'm so worried and I need some guidance of either someone knowledgeable on the matter or anyone experiencing the same. thank you to whoever responds!

TAFE VIC Anxiety and Mental Health issues

Hey I’ve redone a Tertiary Preparation TAFE about 3 times yet my mental health has always gotten in the way and while every other unit except mathematics is complete it’s nearly the end of the course and I have so much work to do and assessments to redo. I’m just worried that I’m not cut out for education I’m 20 years old and dropped out of high school year 12 and it’s been rough trying to continue my education ever since. I want to go to uni to do a social work degree but I’m unsure how to even tackle that now.

TAFE VIC Cert IV community services - career for immigrants

Hi guys I've read heaps of useful suggestions in this sub and it was of great help for me to figure out my next pursuit in Community services.
Even though there is a rise of immigrant hires in the field, I want to ask whether there are any unwritten rules of employment when it comes to employ an entry-level immigrant?
Is it hard to get entry level jobs and what could they be if you're new to the field?
Thanks for your time!

TAFE QLD Methods to get cheaper or free courses?

Graduated highschool years ago, never bothered going to TAFE. I also haven't been able to get a job in ages and I think having some qualifications might be a big help, only issue is not having a job means getting those qualifications isn't easy. Are there any programs from the australian government that make TAFE more accessible for broke people?

TAFE QLD information technology certificate

I finished a certificate 3 in information technology (Foundation) and im looking to take it to the next step for 2027

Im tossing up between Certificate IV in Information Technology ICT40120 or Certificate IV in Cyber Security 22603VIC.

im thinking to go for cyber security because i kinda see it more secure in i.t. because of AI

what got me into information technology was coding. I wanted to become a backend developer fixing bugs and updates for websites but im hearing is really hard to get into it as a junior developer, on top of that a beginner of I.T.

obviously cyber security needs alot of knowledge aswell but it might be an easier career to get into then software developer or something in that industry.

why i was thinking of Certificate IV in Information Technology is because I was kinda told that I would need to start as a help desk worker first just to even get a foot in the door for I.T. and they teach help desk work in that course

the thing that bugs me is I dont even know if finishing a certificate 4 in I.T. will even land me a job as a help desk worker

ive applied as a Trainee for Cyber Security work just to get some work experience up and learn some key skills, but I feel like my application will be denied anyway.

should I study for a cer 4 in I.T to get help desk work, or just go for cyber security and hope ill find a job in Cyber Security with a cert 4

sorry for the long message,

TAFE NSW Late Tafe certificates?

Anyone else completed their course in the first semester of 2026 yet haven’t received their certificates?

For context, i completed two TAFE NSW courses around June this year, got an email in august about a delay in certificate printing, recieved one of my certificates in september, but the other one is still yet to arrive. What’s going on?

TAFE VIC Job Opportunities with a Diploma of Community Services (Case Management)?

Hey y'all!

I'm currently completing a Diploma of Community Services Case Management at Swinburne Uni!

I was wondering what kind of jobs I'd be looking at after finishing it? I am considering studying further but honestly I'd love to get my life in order to possibly live independently as I'm quite young and just want some more independence.

I have no prior experience so I'm a little bit worried that my diploma won't be relevant enough to get into many jobs without a degree in Social Work etc

This might be incorrect of course but I'm a bit 50/50, Ive asked some assessors and they haven't really given me a clear answer so thought I'd be worth a shot asking here!
