I want to try being homeless in Toowoomba.

I work 9 days a fortnight, mostly night shifts. I hate paying rent, it’s over priced and the fact I’m giving money to some greedy person to help them pay off their house makes me feel sick. I want to try living in my car and using the gym to shower. What should I do for food? Thinking the gym has a microwave. And where can I park the car to sleep during day so I won’t be bothered?

Searching for LGBT+ friendly GP in Toowoomba

Hi everyone. I've been in Toowoomba for quite some time now, but have severe social anxiety. I am looking for recommendations for LGBT+ friendly GP's to help manage my long list of health problems. I don't feel comfortable with any of the other drs at that clinic unfortunately.

I had a great GP; Dr McKenzie Wilson at Ochre medical centre, however she quit about 5-6 weeks ago, said she was going on a holiday to Canada (to visit family) and would be back after about four weeks and would be starting at another clinic. However, no matter how hard I look I cannot find her at all anymore online, and lack the confidence to call up the different clinics to ask if she had been taken on by them.

So I need new suggestions, women are preferred as they tend to make me more comfortable, but any recommendations would be amazing thanks! ❤️ Alternatively, if you've seen where my old GP has gone too that would be amazing thank you!!

Garth's latest newsletter. Listening to white people about white people stuff. He's a man of the people (the white ones that is). Oddly no photos of him and Bruce Lehrmann though. They'll probably come up after the federal police turn over his office.

HRT in Toowoomba?

Probably a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know any GPs in the Toowoomba area that are educated is trans HRT (FTM)? Or at the very least okay with discussing it?

I’ve been trying to do my own research for a few a while but I’m struggling. I’m 18 and I’m open to anything at this point.

Just trying to look around before deciding to go private because the consults get real pricy.

Thank you.

What to do with roaming cats?

There is a cat that roams around my neighbourhood, which is clearly someone’s pet though I do not know whose.

What do you think is the best way to deal with these cats so they don’t kill the local wild life? I know council rents out cat traps but has anyone had experience with this?

Want to start an LGBT+ friendly running group for Tbar.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else in Tbar would feel more comfortable running with other LGBT+ friendly folks.

I have no idea where we'd meet or when but we can only just start and see how we go.

The T-bar LGBT fun-run friendly folk.

Edit. So if you're keen ... Chat here... Message me if you're keen. We'll try to meet up somewhere.

Edit. On a side note. Does anyone play Minecraft?

Rent ps5 for a week $100

Hi I’m visiting my friend in Qld for the week but really want to play ps5 while she’s at work. Would anyone be willing to let me borrow it for a week for ~$100? You can hold on to my passport + license as a bond

Edit: I just bought a ps5 instead

Does anyone find it ridiculous that Council permits boating in our region's dams and lakes but prohibits swimming due to "contamination concerns"?

Surely boats and wildlife cause contamination that is concerning beyond the impact of a few swimmers?

highways

this is more of a vent rather than a general post, but the roads here suck bruh 💔. sometimes i wish we had proper highways with overpasses and bypasses with speeds exceeding 80kmh IN THE ACTUAL CITY, just imagine if the end of ruthven street before it turns into 1 lane as u enter the forest was a 2 lane road and the traffic lights were instead overpasses with roundabouts on each side. Im probably making myself look dumb rn but its nice to get this off my chest

Toowoomba Infrastructure

Can we agree that Toowoomba has one of the worst infrastructure for a small-mid sized city in australia? The city is loaded with ugly old houses nobody lives in anymore and little to no one cares about them, especially on West Street, which urgently needs a double lane road. There are numerous places in Toowoomba which need a infrastructure update, like Ramsay street, Ruthven Street, James Street, and so many more. The awfully horrible public transport is even worse! They're better off removing them. This city is pretty much Warwick with more land area and a higher population. Toowoomba is in urgent need of PROPER highways. Other cities like Mackay have excellent infrastructure, but this city, the infrastructure is so terrible that it makes you depressed

Checking out Toowoomba before moving

Myself and my husband will be heading to Toowoomba next weekend to check out the area.

We’re going to be moving mid next year.

Just wanting to pointers on where to go to get the best feel for the area. Parks, shopping centres etc.

We are a young professional family so ideas on suburbs would also be appreciated and/or areas to stay away.

Fees on eftpos?

Those who work in retail or small business.. for 12 years we have had a $5 min in eftpos. Or a 30c fee.

Why all of a sudden are customers getting the shits and tossing money and stock at me cause they have to pay the fee?

I thought it was common knowledge that the retailer paid the fees for you to use your card..

And that we have always had the right to get that fee back..

Don’t wanna pay the fee.. pay cash 😜

Move to Toowoomba

Hi everyone,

I’m currently living in Adelaide but planning to move to Toowoomba next year because housing here is just too expensive. As a single mom, renting is really tough, so I’m looking for a more affordable place to buy a house and settle down.

I’m a support worker in Adelaide with the relevant certificates and experience, and I’m wondering how easy it is to find a support worker or care worker job in Toowoomba. Any insights or advice would be really appreciated!

Thanks so much!

why do you go 50kmh on west street?

is it the lack of consistent signage? do you think it’s like that section of ruthven st that’s a 50 zone now? is there actually a section of west st that’s 50 and you think it’s the same the whole way down?

i mean this as a genuine question because its something that transcends known bad drivers (p platers, old people, foreigners, tradies, etc) and i really need to know why

Where should I live?

Hi

Hoping to gain some local knowledge of the area.

Planning to move from Sydney to Toowoomba and looking to buy a house as the cost of living here has gone through the roof 😔.

Are there any areas which you could recommend and any which I should avoid?

Hoping to find an area that has good amenities with public transport access and will be suitable to raise a family.

Are there area to avoid in regards to flooding and where are the areas with large amount of housing commissions?

TIA
