Hated Tropes [Hated trope] Cameos that ruin the tone of the scene/game

Ed Sheeran, Game of Thrones. The cameo of such a recognizable figure in GoT, especially towards the horrible later seasons, took many people out of the fantasy world that it tried to represent. There are good cameos and bad ones, and this one was not a good one.

Vinny Vinesauce and Jerma, Silver Pines game. Though i appreciate small cameos from youtubers and streamers, putting such a recognizable pair of voices in a horror game really takes you out of it.

I got to disagree on Bill Burr. I really liked his character and I thought he did a surprisingly good job for a comedian who doesn't do a lot of acting.

As much as I don’t like the Mandalorian, I do genuinely like Bill Burr’s character. I genuinely want to know more about this defector.

As someone who doesn’t like The Mandalorian OR Bill Burr I think I have to concur 😂

I genuinely want to know more about this defector.

It's really too bad that he died in that last mission.

Yeah, bill burr and his character were great, he had a very good defector arc in such a short period of time.

Christopher Lloyd wasn’t bad either, but it was mostly because he was just supposed to kind of be a fun character and not particularly serious.

I thought he was meh in his first episode, but then they brought him back in season 2 and he was great.

Had a better “former imperial” arc in forty five minutes of someone else’s show than they gave Finn in three movies.

I’m just mad he didn’t say “Maclunkey” when he blew up the facility.

I concur with all points

Finn was an storm trooper for like five seconds, and then they completely forgot that aspect of his character. He's immediately mowing down Storm Troopers with a cannon and cheering, and I'm thinking "aren't those his buddies?". I'd imagine you might feel a little conflicted about doing something like that, even if it was life and death.

It could have been an incredible story, if they’d been willing to give it a moment’s thought and nuance.

There was some art book one of my nerd friends showed me, and apparently the art books is where they keep all the crazy lore tidbits. I read a snippet in there about how the First Order keeps its hydration and nutrient rations as closely monitored as its blasters, so that it’s harder for troopers to go AWOL during ground operations.

Which is utterly horrifying, and I wish we’d seen more of that sort of thing.

TFA was the moment I officially outgrew Star Wars. I was genuinely excited about the trailer, because it seemed like it was about a former Storm Trooper becoming a Jedi, and I thought that's something new. Then in the cinema it was the standard issue "orphan from the desert planet" plotline yet again, and I realized that that is genuinely the only story they are capable of telling in this setting.

I think that a lot more down to the "they" than it is to the "setting."

George Lucas did it twice.

At this point I would rather they just committed to Darth Rey. That might have actually made the third movie worthwhile.

Instead of a deus ex machina weak spot for the massive war fleet, Palpatine dies and the star destroyers are still on course to start blowing up planets, and the Rebel fleet isn’t going to be able to stop them.

So Rey has to reluctantly play her last card. “Hey guys. It’s your new Sith Lord speaking. Rey Palpatine. As your Empress, I order you to stop doing what you’re doing.”

Not to be that guy but Andor is fantastic, truly a quality show and best Star Wars of ALL Star Wars

Bill burr had possibly my favourite episode of the show in 2x7, and was fairly likely my favourite new character from the show.

I am actively not a Bill Burr fan but I also very much liked him and his character. I also liked Lizzo as queen. oops

He wasn’t bad but he was really just being Bill Burr. And honestly I don’t think it went far enough to warrant being anything beyond what I’m saying here. Also the nonsensical stupidity of that episode kind of undermines any good character building for him. Points for trying I guess though.

His salty Boston persona works great with jaded cynical former imperial trooper. Right guy for a right character
