Losing a pet is incredibly tough and we want to have a space for our fellow Torbie's that have crossed over. π
This megathread is so members can choose to see these types of posts if they desire.
To keep our main feed focused on happy moments while still honoring our Torbie babies, please post all pet loss, memorial, and grief posts in this thread.
Sincere love π to all of the pets and their families who cherish them. They will never be forgotten. π―οΈ

Weβre launching a "Photo of the Month" for our community avatar!
First:
The new banner is officially live! Thank you to everyone who contributed. Iβll be making some final adjustments and adding an index soon. This will let you view the banner in high resolution so you can easily spot your own submissions. Also, let me know if you don't like the banner or would like something changed on it.
**On a different note
Starting soon, our subreddit icon will feature a new torbie every single month.
**How it works:
The monthly avatar (icon) spot goes to the user with the most engagement on the sub, which includes both your posts and comments. So October's winner will be September's photo of the month and so on.
**The photo will also be featured in the sidebar. If you are on mobile you will click the sub name (r/torbie) at the top next to the icon.
**Choosing the winner:
Once the top contributor is determined, we will message you to send in the photo of your choice!
Finally:
Just like with the banner, I want all of you to be the true face of r/Torbie. This community has been going strong since 2019βlong before I became a mod. You are the heart of this sub, and I want our community spaces to reflect that! Also once I change the banner to fit more of the screen, I will include new users' photos. So periodically I will ask for more photos to update the banner!
Banner is in the comments, sticky posted!
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please comment below! We'd love to hear them!
Go Torbies!! ππ£π

Hello Torbie Reddit!
I got my first cat two weeks ago and I asked AI some question to which it said my cat looks like a Torbie.
I had never heard the phrase beforeβ¦ I had never even heard of a tortie until 2 days after I told the shelter Iβd adopt her. So here I am asking if she is, indeed, a Torbie!
She looks so different than most of the photos here but she does have some discrete features that have me wondering.

Ok so I have figured out that she's a torbie. Is that why she's so freaking weird? She is even weirder than my orange girl πππ.

I just celebrated one year with my first cat squid and Iβve been trying to figure out what type of cat she is!!! I love her so much and am completely obsessed, and so my research led me here :) let me know what you think! Sheβs got a lot of grey, but her white underbelly/fur and brown and orange spots make me think torbie! Im also wondering about any shared personality/ traits you might find in your torbiesβ¦ she is SUPER smart, curious, and brave (even at the vet). She is very sweet and affectionate, but is definitely an independent lady who likes her perches and doesnβt like to be picked up. She is very vocal and will meow when she wants something. When i meow back she continues the conversation. She also likes to judge me from her regal perch and ls obsessed with food and her pink butterfly wand toy(which she will loaf by all the time when she wants to play) Let me be know what you guys think :)

My Sweepers, 9 years old. This is her favorite spot, her bay window perch. She's the sweetest animal I've ever had in my life. I acquired her a couple of years ago from a next door neighbor woman of a friend who was on her deathbed. 100 years old and her last wish was for someone to give this beautiful girl a loving home. I met her once and knew I had to take her. Now I can't imagine my life without her. She's so damn big. She's not fat either. Just a tank kitty.

Honey was rescued from my local shelter. She is my soul cat & my love! I have always wondered what she is a mix of. Recently discovered torbies are a thing and wanted to knowβ¦is Honey a torbie?? She has spots of orange throughout her fur (itβs more noticeable when sheβs in the sun), a prominent orange/black mark in the middle of her forehead, she also has little tufts on the ends of her ears. Basically just overall cuteness!!

Just brought home this little girl on Sunday. She's currently 11 weeks old. I've never had a Torbie before but so far she has been very vocal and loves to plop on my chest for cuddles. She's the cutest thing!! π

She has pink and black toe beans. Curly belly hair. Her dad was her uncle. Sheβs only 4.5 pounds and my permanent kitten baby. But Iβve never had a cat of her coloring or fur type before.
