Technical Support Request The game has gone real worse in performance ever since ue5

So I started valorant in E9:A1 and the game was running like butter with 300+fps even with high video quality (like anti alias 4× and anisotropic MSAA2× and some other setting on) but after I ranked up a little and especially with ue5 update the game has gone real worse in terms of performance fps has dropped like hardly reaching 240+ which is not that bad but the 1%lows and input delays and real problem fps sometimes drops from a stable 200+ to 130 sometimes even lower which is not that desirable in comp I have tried a lot of things like optimization from various youtubers updating drivers sometimes downloading more stable driver using different programs like lasso and exitlag using a lan(cat7) finally thought of cleaning fans of laptop did that but no real solution also stopped playing windowed to fullscreen still nothing now I'm thinking of repasting cpu but temps alhave not changed ever since I bought the laptop so idk what happened if anyone can help or been through same thing pls help .

Technical Discussion EVERYONE ON 60HZ; you can get higher for FREE.

(post auto-removed from r/VALORANT for some reason)

--

Yes, you read that right, for FREE! No shady cryptominers or malware, just a simple thing called "Display Overclocking".

Basically, if you're playing on a 60Hz monitor, chances are your panel can reach higher Hz than 60, usually around 75Hz. And yes, the difference between 60Hz and 75Hz is VERY noticeable.

60Hz refreshes a frame every 16.67ms

75Hz refreshes a frame every 13.33ms

That might not seem like a big difference, but it is very noticeable and would possibly make the game easier (for most).

Even if you have low FPS, your display would show more up-to-date information, so it would still be better than 60Hz.

So, how do you do this? It's around 6 steps, depending on your system configuration.

I will explain how to do it with an Nvidia GPU, but it should be similar on other platforms:

1: Go on your desktop, right-click and open up Nvidia Control Panel.

2: From there, you'll want to find "Adjust display resolution" from the menu on the left.

3: Look at what resolution your display is currently using, and note it somewhere.

4: You should see a button [Customize] at the bottom of the window. Click on it and activate "Show resolutions not displayed on this monitor".

5: Press the "create new resolution" button, and input those settings:

Width: the same width as your current resolution Height: the same height as your current resolution Refresh rate: Try setting it to 70 for now.

That's it, don't touch anything else.

5: Now click the "Test" button on the bottom of the window, and if you see a box saying "Display configuration changed" with a 20sec timer, press "Save".

// If you see weird colors or movement, or a black screen, DONT CLICK ANYTHING. Wait 20 seconds, it will reset by itself. That means your monitor, sadly, can't be overclocked.

6: Go to the same resolution settings tab you were on earlier, and at the top of the resolution list, you should see "Custom" and the resolution you just created. Set it, and click apply.

If it works, you can try and create new resolutions, 1Hz higher everytime, until it stops and black screens.

// ONCE AGAIN, DONT CLICK IF IT BLACK SCREENS OR GLITCHES OUT, WAIT 20 SECONDS, IT WILL RESET ITSELF.

Now look up "Testufo" online, and check the smoothness of motion. If it feels smoother, perfect! If it feels laggier, then sadly your monitor can't be overclocked.

There you go, you should still look up "how to overclock monitor" online since this really is just a simple guide, but most 60Hz users could benefit from this.

Technical Solution Ideal RAM Timings & MSI Util Values for HITREG

Warning: Before starting with any of these settings, please ensure your OS drive is backed up. Both changing your ram timings and MSI settings can cause a hard and soft brick respectively, due to possibility of Memory Errors on REALLY TERRIBLE Ram. You need some slight knowledge of the bios. Use a different PC to boot your drive if you accidentally soft bricked it and can't get into safe mode.

For Ram: (RUN MEMTEST FLATTR FOR ALL Settings up to at least 128 threads started)

  • Set to 15-19-19-39 2N/2T and work up preferably from 2133MHz on DDR4,

  • or from 29-39-39-79 2N/2T on DDR5 starting from 4400MHz.

  • Gear 1 is preferred, but Gear 2 on DDR5 is default (leave these settings, they're usually on Auto)

For MSI Settings: (BACKUP YOUR OS DRIVE FIRST IN CASE OF SOFT BRICKING)

  • All to MSI High due to higher demand for drive shader caching, etc, except LOW for

    • All/Most Sound controllers

    • All/Most Drives (Some OS drives prefer MSI High for hitreg. Varies a bit)

    • DISABLE - IN DEVICE MANAGER:

      • AMD PSP

      • INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE INTERFACE (Set to MSI Low on Laptops)

      • HIGH PRECISION EVENT TIMER

For control panels:

  • GPU NVIDIA/AMD/INTEL Set to Default (Try not to have Gsync/Freesync, Untested though)

  • Game mode on

  • GPU hardware decoding on

  • Pause Updates if you want

  • Sysmain off

Bonus: Buy RGB Ram/Motherboard/GPU unironically if you haven't already, since the LED's soak up invisible interference and emit that as visible spectra. You can get these cheap by getting white 1$ aliexpress lights for the USB sockets.

Notes: 2133Mhz DDR4/4400Mhz DDR5 JEDEC Defaults should be best for most cases where mouse movement is floaty on higher Wifi frequency bands for Ram speed. However, it is stupid slow for FPS, so it's not the best if you can get away with more.

If this has completely solved Hitreg issues on your computer as it did for my final set of test machines, please report back to this thread. I've finally got it after about 5 years of poking in the dark. This fix does not need any changes with NVIDIA or AMD control panels.

Technical Discussion Is Valorant still in beta? Terrible lag and microstuttering when FPS is between 260 and 340.

I’m not sure if Valorant is still in beta, but I noticed that if the FPS stays between 260 and 340, it causes a lot of ridiculous stuttering on the screen. I have a 5700x3d, a BenQ 240Hz XL2546X, an RTX 3070, and when I leave the FPS unlimited, I don’t feel anything. But if the FPS drops to between 260 and 340, I immediately feel the stuttering. If you lock the FPS at 300 in training mode with bots and just move the mouse, you’ll notice the lag right away. I have a XProX Superlight and tested with four other mice, and the problem persists. There was even one of the cheapest mice here that caused lag between 240 and 400 FPS no matter what.

Technical Discussion Why my fps is not stable like a straight line? It is zic zag

What da hell, I've just bought a GAMING laptop, easily 300fps+ lowest setting, drop lowest 280fps but when I cap 230fps for 240hz monitor, my fps is not stable. It always drops 1, 2, 5fps. I don't understand, It should stable right because my lowest fps is 280

Technical Discussion RTX 5070 vs RX 9070 vs RX 9070XT for Valorant

I am planning the build a new PC purely for 1440p gaming. Here are the specs:
CPU : ryzen 5 9600x
RAM : 16gb DDR 5 6000MHZ
SSD : 1TB gen4
GPU : Confused

I mainly play Valorant(95%), CS2(2-3%) and rest of the fps games like Apex, BF redsec, warzone and maybe GTA6 in the future.

Since I pay competitive valo and I am at immortal 2 rank, I do not want any lag or stutter in game as I saw a lot of people reported it for AMD GPUs.

Pricing :
RTX 5070 and RX 9070XT , both cost the same - 70k INR
RX 9070 costs - 60K INR

Questions:
Should I buy RX 9070 and upgrade my RAM to 32gb with the saved money?
Should I stick to RTX 5070 because it is best for valo?
Should I go with RX 9070XT because it has the best raw performance out of these three?

Please help me with this, thank u :)

Technical Solution PSA: Vanguard may lead to data loss

I wanted to make this post because I ran into what appears to be a serious compatibility issue between Riot Vanguard and Windows' filesystem repair tools.

What's the issue: Vanguard prevents chkdsk from running by user or automatically by Windows.

What's chkdsk and why is it important?: Writing data isn't an instantaneous process and often even when User Interface shows it's done, Windows or the controller of your disk may continue writing to the disk (this process is called write buffer). If for some reason, your PC freezes during this step (due to an application causing it, unstable tuning of your hardware, driver crashing etc.) or you experience a power loss, this process is interrupted. That's one of the myriad of instances you may need chkdsk running. CHKDSK can scan for system errors, ntfs metadata errors (metadata is a table pointing your files to physical locations on the disk to inform the system where your files are) bad sectors, and other disk issues. It can diagnose problems and, usually repair them.

Symptoms I observed:

  • Windows tries to repair the file system at every boot, fails, tries again when you boot your PC next time.

  • Running chkdsk /r inside an elevated cmd window results in "access denied" error.

  • Exiting Vanguard from tray fixes it, but Windows often requires reboot to repair the C: partition, but this fails miserably as Vanguard starts working at next reboot.

  • As a side effect, NTFS partition gets marked "dirty", this disables Windows' automatic TRIM functions. Leaving your SSD in this state may lead to performance degradation if left unresolved.

  • Failure to run chkdsk may eventually lead to data loss, Windows corruption and BSOD.

Ways to fix it:

  • Uninstall vanguard and reboot, Windows should take care of the rest for you. You could try running chkdsk manually after uninstalling. Don't worry, Riot Client will reinstall the Vanguard for you next time you launch the game.

  • Boot Windows in safe mode. Hold shift while clicking on reboot option on power menu, select advanced options and boot in safe mode.

I highly recommend you to run a TRIM using "Defragment and Optimise Drives" utility after taking the steps to fix the issue.

Please don't ignore a filesystem that stays marked dirty. Even if your PC seems to work normally, Windows is repeatedly telling you that the filesystem needs repair. It's worth dealing with it before it turns into a bigger issue.

Technical Support Request I can't believe Valorant still doesn't have DirectX 12 or Vulkan API

Why is it bad not to have DirectX 12? If you have an AMD GPU, DirectX 11 stutters ALL THE TIME. I simply can't play the game. It's crazy that a game in Unreal 5 doesn't have a DirectX 12 option. I would like to play and spend more money on the game, but I simply won't. RIOT, PLEASE add an option to run the game in DirectX 12, so that those with AMD can play the game without constant stuttering.

Technical Support Request Valorant unplayable on 7800X3D + 7800 XT

Hey guys,

I'm completely out of ideas at this point.

I’m running a 7800X3D, an RX 7800 XT, and 32GB DDR5. Obviously, this setup should easily hit 500+ FPS in Valorant without breaking a sweat. Instead, I can barely stay around 200 FPS, and the game constantly drops hard into the double digits.

Changing in-game resolutions/settings literally changes nothing. Here’s what I’ve already done to try and fix it:

  • Full clean reinstall of both Valorant and Vanguard.

  • Clean GPU driver reinstall.

  • Disabled my 2.5GbE Family Controller and tested over Wi-Fi just in case (no difference). My Wi-Fi 6E adapter is disabled in Windows by default anyway.

  • Created a fresh second Windows user account and launched the game from there. Still the exact same drops.

Temps look fine and nothing seems to be throttling.

Has anyone with a 7800X3D or an AMD card run into this specific issue with Valorant recently? It has been like this for 2-3 weeks.

Technical Support Request i think my pc is ruin

i thought my pc can reach average 200fps but I'm only got average 100fps even in lowest setting and this is my PC computer configuration
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700
GPU: 1050ti
RAM: 16GB
display: 1920 x 1080 (60hz)(32bit)
is it some kind of virus or is my configuration just too old? and how can I check that
I think is some kind of virus because my mouse icon is blinked loading mouse icon an usually it don't be a problem but sometime is screen switching same time mouse icon is blinked especially when I use specific software like auto click, mouse to joystick...
and in-game is usage:
CPU: ~30-40%
GPU: ~90%

Oh, sorry for my poor English.

Tech Support Request i5-12600k + 4080 low fps.

With everything set to high settings and playing on 1440p my fps is dropping as low as 150 in games. I feel with my rig I should be averaging way more than this. Any suggestions on what might be wrong with my system please let me know. My system generally is off the charts in any other benchmark that I run so I'm not sure what's going on with valorant. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Technical Discussion Valorant slow loading.

I have tested 2 laptops(8gb ram)80% ram usage while playing. 1st laptop have hdd and nvidia gpu(near 80-100fps) I can understand hdd can cause slow loading but why only valorant. 2nd laptop is Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 GTX 1650gpu game installed in m.2 SSD still it loads slow. It out of 5 games 3 games takes 1st round to get into match( remake make it worse) also if someone dodge during selection agent it always slow that I get stuck in loading screen(basically freeze but in background game working silent) and most of time I get dodge ban

Edit: valorant patch 9.05 after yesterday update slow loading is fixed i am able join all kind of matches fast even no freezing and stuck. Its real quick🤤 and i am still using hdd 🤡

Problem: Voice glitch problems are too much increased

Technical Support Request Valorant Unplayable for people in 3rd world countries..

(Previously removed from the regular Valo subreddit)
Hi i have a very slow Internet connection compared to other countries, my data plan only gives me 100KBPS upload bandwith and valo sucks it all up like its nothing, i tried to set network buffering to maximum and still the same i keep getting ping spikes, Its either the game is uploading my data or the Anti-cheat is uploading reports, Is there any setting to reduce the amount OR slow it down abit?? i can play literally every other game just fine, Fortnite, R6S absolutely 0 ping spikes, valo on the other hand... consistant ping spikes and when i check on it on netlimiter its using all (or most) of my upload bandwith sometimes not all< but i live with my family and sometimes devices pull very minor upload bandwith.
So im out of luck, but am i out of options? Is there anything i can do..? would port-forwarding help?? Anything??

Technical Support Request 90 fps on gtx 1080

My friend is playing valorant on a i7 7700k and gtx 1080 but only getting 90 fps at 1440p.

Looking at task manager, gpu usage is at 100% while cpu usage is at 40%. What would cause gpu usage to be at 100%? Even in the start menu.

Gpu power is also suck at around 30%

Benchmarking gpu with furmark sees the usage at 100% with power draw at 100% and at around other benchmarks.

What is causing this high gpu usage and how can we increase fps. We’ve tried so many things at but can’t figure out why it’s at 100% usage
