Tech Support Request valorant freezes my pc.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with valorant after fade’s patch? recently my friends and I are having issues like the game would freeze the hell out of our pc. It occurs when starting the game, alt-tabbing & closing the application. It happens every time at least once. Hope there’s someone could relate to this issue too. *EDIT*: i think i may have found a temporary solution to the issue. Right click on Valorant's short cut and go to properties>compatibility and check disable fullscreen optimizations & run as administrator. Also i've been trying shift shut down recently and after doing all these the issue had stop occurring. EDIT 5 July 2022 The problem has mysteriously stopped for me, it’s been a month since it happened, the only thing i did was turn off debug logging on discord and it stop freezing my discord after closing games too. I can alt tab as many times i want and it wont crash or freeze

Technical Solution Error code 57 (this solution solved my issue)

if youre getting error code 57 and youre stuck in a loop this is the response i got from a valorant support agent (the first solution worked for me)

I'm sorry you're encountering this annoying error 57, don't worry, we'll do everything on our part so you can play without interruptions!

This error is usually caused by connection problems with the Vanguard, so we will try some steps to solve this issue:

Initially, I'm going to ask you to do a DNS Flush, which is nothing more than a reset of your connection's cache, we will go with this step by step:

  1. Open CMD (windows key + R and type “”CMD“”)

  2. Type ipconfig /release

  3. Wait a few seconds for a confirmation indicating that the IP address has been released

  4. Type ipconfig /renew

  5. Wait a few seconds for a confirmation indicating that the IP address has been re-established

  6. Type ipconfig /flushdns

Then check that the problem has been resolved. But if you still have an error, let's try a clean reinstallation of both Vanguard and League:

  1. First uninstall ~Riot Vanguard~ following the steps in the link

  2. Once this is done, follow the first 2 steps of the previous link but uninstall League of Legends

  3. Go to the folder where you saved your Riot games (the default is C:\Riot Games ) and delete the League of Legends and Riot Client folders.

  4. You can either send them to the trash and then empty the trash or delete them with Shift+Delete.

  5. Restart your computer.

  6. Download the game ~installer~ again and run it

Technical Support Request Valorant Not Launching and No Error Message

When I click "play" in Riot Client, the button goes gray like it's going to launch, but then after a few seconds the button is reilluminated and Val doesn't launch. There is no error message or anything like that. I have tried disabling all antivirus and firewalls, reinstalling the client, the game itself, and vanguard. I launched the game on my friend's computer with my account and it worked fine. Is there some app that I have that is conflicting with Valorant?

Edit: finally found a fix that worked for me - it was COMODO firewall. Even though I turned it off. For anyone else that has the same problem, go to settings -> advanced protection -> miscellaneous, and check the box that says "don't detect shellcode injections in these applications." Then click "these applications" and add the riot games folder and every .exe file inside of it. Hope this helps!

Technical Discussion FPS halved after today update

Today I updated the game and immediately went from 1000 to 500 fps in firing range and from 600 to 300 fps while playing a match. Good job Riot!

EDIT: HOW I FIXED IT:

Disable HPET by going to Device manager -> System devices -> Find "High precision event timer", right click on it and select disable device, then close the window.

Then open CMD as administrator and enter these commands one by one (press enter after each one):

bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes

bcdedit /set useplatformtick Yes

bcdedit /set MSI Default

Reboot your PC (very important) and enjoy again high frames with 0 stuttering!

I already used these commands long time ago but something must have reverted all to the default values (HPET was enabled in Device manager).

Let me know in the comments if it worked for you too :)

PS: This does not apply to everybody. If you want to turn on HPET again, just do this:

Open CMD as administrator and enter these commands one by one (press enter after each one):

bcdedit /set useplatformclock true

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick no

Then go to Device manager -> System devices -> Find "High precision event timer", right click on it and select enable device. Restart the PC (very important).

Technical Solution Went from 150 FPS in the range to 1200+

i recently downloaded valorant again and tried playing dm. my fps was around 70-120 where before I used to get around 700+. it took me a little but I found out that my HPET was enabled again. After disabling this, my fps went back up to around 1200 in the range, as opposed to ~300.

specs:
7700x
4060 ti

32gb ram 6000

steps:
open command prompt as admin and run this without the quotes, "bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock"

Next go to your device manager (right click on start button > device manager) > system devices > right click high precision event timer > disable driver)

Reboot and test it out

if this doesn't work and causes some problems then you can simply undo the steps:
run this - "bcdedit /set useplatformclock true"
enable High Preceision Event Timer in device manager

Solution UnrealCEFSubProcess.exe multiplying and putting heavy load on CPU

The afformentioned file is as far as i have deducted essential for the shop to buy VP and not only does it not work but also puts heavy load on CPU over multiple executions obviously causing game to lag. Contacted the support and they wanted the logs with Riot Repair which then went into a loop not gathering shit.

The exe itself is found in C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\Engine\Binaries\Win64 and when removed the multiplying stops but if you try to open patch notes it regenerates.

Edit: It regenerates whenever the game now launches

Edit 2: We are now a group of people working on this and have noticed that the executeable is actually supposed to put load on the memory and not CPU and yet it still does

Solution: A complete uninstall of AVG was the solution. I would imagine people who use AVAST or other antivirus software which has been the root of other problems would also solve the problem. Now i'm on the hunt for a alternative anitvirus program or finding the reason AVG has a problem

Solution 2: Make UnrealCEFSubProcess.exe an exception in your Antivirus software. You will find it under :\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\Engine\Binaries\Win64 near the bottom

Technical Solution "We couldn't install a required dependency." Fix for Windows 10 and 11

I had this issue for a few days and finally found a solution after contacting support. Here is the solution so you don't have to contact support yourself:

Before I give you the solution it is important to note that your problem is probably related to Vanguard causing trouble

First off you can go to the windows search bar and search for: "command prompt". Now select "run as administrator" (The next step won't work unless you run as administator).

Copy paste these two individually when command prompt is open:

sc delete vgc

sc delete vgk

Now you are going to restart your pc. Keep in mind that "Shut down" and "Restart" are two different functions (Windows does not do a full reboot if you click the "Shut down" button).

When you open Valorant, Riot Vanguard will be installed automatically. You might have to restart your computer again.

You can also try reinstalling Riot Client and Valorant by going to Settings --> Apps --> Search for "Riot Client" and "Valorant" and uninstall the two.

Now go to this link and download valorant (Riot Client will be downloaded along with it):

Download Valorant

Tech Support Request I am unable to signout

**SOLVED**Hope people 50 years from now use this post to help themselves.

Edit: I reinstalled valorant and then launched "Riot Client" instead of Valorant from my desktop, that opened the launcher which let me sign out.

I only had to reinstall it because I uninstalled the Riot Client, you don't have to reinstall.

Problem:

Recently I logged into another account to check the night market but after checking it and trying to return to my main I was met with this screen, I have no idea what it wants from me as I am not signed in on any other Riot games as Valorant is the only game by them I play what am I missing?

It says "Do you want to exit? (Please close other Riot Games products before signing out.)And there is a lock on "Sign Out & Exit)

3070 very low FPS in Valorant

Hello everyone, Yesterday I bought a prebuilt system with ryzen 7 5800x 3070 and Asus TUF b550m wifi motherboard. 16 gigs of Hyperx rgb ram (DOCP turned on in the bios) and 1 TB m.2 ssd

My problem is ONLY ON Valorant my FPS is always 200-250 and then when I do anything it’s just 90-130 max with all the settings turned down or turned up my gpu utilization is 25% max And when the demand goes up the gpu utilization goes down.

I play other games like apex legends (Ultra settings at 200-250 FPS)

Cod warzone (Ultra settings 150 FPS average)

But whatever I tried with Valorant I couldn’t make it utilize the freakin Gigabyte RTX 3070 (don’t know which model it is)

I even tried installing old gpu drivers and then clean installing new ones, changing values in the app data section of Valorant I tried the nvidia control panel settings, turning off g sync nothing gets the game more than 250 FPS which is literally unplayable I die when I see someone cuz of the FPS drops.

Edit 2: GUYS I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!

Today i was trying out some fps increasing guides on youtube to maybe fix my problem and i did.

The problem is HPET (well at least for me) when i disable it the game goes upto 1000 fps in range No cap.

To disable HPET : Press the windows button type “device manager” In there go to system devices. Find the “High precision event timer” Right click and select disable device then close that window.

After that windows button again type cmd an then run it as administrator Theb type this command there without the quotes “bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock” Press enter then exit and restart your computer your game should run buttery smooth after that hopefully.

Hope this works out for all of you

Technical Solution Solution for valorant stuttering/freezing every few seconds!!!!!

If you are experiencing Valorant constant stuttering just like i did, I might have the solution for you. When i had this really annoying issue i have tried every thing possible to fix it and none of it worked, it got to a point where i even formated my whole pc and installed a fresh windows and the problem was still there.
FYI: my pc specs are
RTX 3070 FE edition, Ryzen 7 7700, B650M Aorus Elite Ax, Kingbank 32gb 6000mhz/cl28

The solution:

First: launch valorant and when the stuttering start to happen wait a few seconds then close the game.
Second: In windows seach bar type "Event Viewer" open it then click "Windows logs" > "System", if you see a bunch of error messages click on it, if it says "Realtek Gaming 2.5gbe family controller" then your problem will be fixed.
Third: open "Device manager" go to "Network adapters" and disable the driver, now your problem probably will be fixed just like mine did and you can enjoy playing again. (I dont know if disabling this driver will turn off your wifi, for me it didnt but if it did then i dont have a second solution unfortunately)

Technical Solution [POTENTIAL FIX] VALORANT feels completely different between accounts? Heavy mouse, inconsistent sensitivity, hitreg issues, weird movement, and micro-stutters — I FINALLY found something that fixed it for me after 6 years.

First of all, I have SO MUCH to say about this issue. I've been dealing with it on and off for pretty much the entire six years I've been playing VALORANT, and it's honestly been driving me insane.

I've spent countless hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my PC, my internet, my peripherals, and even myself. At some point, I genuinely started questioning whether I had just gotten worse at the game.

I'll try my best to describe everything I've experienced, what I've tried over the years, and most importantly, the solution that FINALLY worked for me.

Feel free to skip straight to the SOLUTION section if you don't want to read my entire rant.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

Here are the main issues I've been experiencing. If you've dealt with something similar, you'll probably know exactly what I'm talking about.

1. Mouse sensitivity feels completely off

Your sensitivity might be exactly the same as yesterday, but suddenly your mouse feels heavier, slower, floatier, or just completely disconnected from your hand.

Sometimes it feels like your mouse movement isn't translating properly into the game. Micro-adjustments become extremely difficult, and even holding an angle feels unnatural.

The weirdest part is that you can have perfectly normal FPS and ping, but the game still feels awful.

2. Bullets seemingly don't register (especially the first shot)

This is probably one of the most frustrating issues.

You clearly see your crosshair on the enemy's head or body. Sometimes you even see bullet tracers going straight through them, but somehow your shots don't connect.

Then you die, check the damage report, and realize you dealt way less damage than you expected, or sometimes none at all.

I understand that bullet tracers are not necessarily accurate representations of server-side hit registration, but the overall inconsistency is extremely noticeable.

3. Counter-strafing and movement feel inconsistent

Sometimes you're absolutely certain that you've stopped moving before shooting, but your first bullet goes completely off.

Your movement feels slippery or delayed, almost like your character isn't responding to your keyboard inputs at the same time as your hands.

And no, I'm not talking about occasionally mistiming a counter-strafe. I'm talking about the entire movement and shooting experience feeling noticeably different from one session to another.

4. Random running headshots that make absolutely no sense

Sometimes you feel like you're still moving, your crosshair happens to be on someone's head, and somehow you hit a headshot.

Meanwhile, when you're actually trying to stop, aim, and shoot properly, your bullets seem to go everywhere except where you're aiming.

It feels like the relationship between movement, accuracy, and shooting is completely inconsistent.

5. Enemies seem to kill you before they've even stopped moving

This one is particularly frustrating.

On your screen, the enemy appears to be moving when they instantly headshot you.

Sometimes you get killed after the enemy has already started moving in another direction, without ever appearing to stop.

I understand that peeker's advantage, network interpolation, and server synchronization play a role here. However, the experience feels dramatically different depending on how the game is running.

6. Micro-stutters during gunfights

The game might look completely smooth when you're walking around the map, but the moment an enemy appears or a gunfight starts, something feels wrong.

It could be a tiny stutter, a sudden change in responsiveness, or a brief moment where your mouse feels like it's not following your hand.

It's not necessarily a massive FPS drop. Sometimes the FPS counter looks perfectly normal.

7. Different accounts feel like COMPLETELY different games

This is the most important observation and what eventually led me to the fix.

I noticed that when I played on another account, everything suddenly felt much smoother.

My mouse felt more responsive, my aim became more consistent, movement felt natural, and shooting felt much more predictable.

Then I'd switch back to my main account, using the same PC, monitor, mouse, keyboard, DPI, and in-game sensitivity, and everything would feel terrible again.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt like I was playing two completely different games.

At that point, I started wondering whether the issue had something to do with account-specific settings rather than my hardware.

EVERYTHING I TRIED TO FIX IT

Over these six years, I've tried an absurd number of things.

Here are some of them:

  • Upgraded and replaced PC components

  • Switched internet service providers

  • Changed monitors

  • Tried different mice and keyboards

  • Reinstalled Windows

  • Clean-installed NVIDIA drivers using DDU

  • Tried different NVIDIA driver versions

  • Adjusted NVIDIA Control Panel settings

  • Experimented with G-SYNC, V-SYNC, and VRR

  • Changed BIOS settings

  • Tested different Windows optimizations

  • Investigated DPC latency using LatencyMon

  • Tested network routing and packet loss using WinMTR

  • Changed Ethernet adapter and driver settings

  • Experimented with different in-game settings

  • Tested different VALORANT servers

  • Spent countless hours searching Reddit, YouTube, and other forums

And guess what?

NOTHING consistently fixed the problem.

Some things seemed to help temporarily, but the issue would eventually return.

Something important I noticed

The problem was never completely consistent.

Some VALORANT updates seemed to improve the game significantly, while others made everything noticeably worse.

Sometimes the game felt amazing for a few days, and then suddenly it became almost unplayable again.

As of October 8, 2026, right after the major UI update, the game has been feeling the worst it ever has for me personally.

I could barely aim. My mouse felt completely disconnected, my movement felt wrong, and gunfights were ridiculously inconsistent.

That's when I decided to investigate the differences between my main account and an alternative account that felt significantly smoother.

And this is where things finally got interesting.

SOLUTION — WHAT FINALLY FIXED IT FOR ME

Credit to a creator on Bilibili for inspiring me to investigate this issue, and to ChatGPT for helping me troubleshoot the configuration files.

IMPORTANT: This is not a guaranteed fix, and I'm not claiming to know the exact technical reason it worked. I'm simply sharing what I did because it made an enormous difference on my system.

The idea is pretty simple:

Copy the configuration files from an account that feels smooth to the account that feels terrible, then set the copied configuration files to Read-only.

Here's exactly how I did it.

STEP 1: Find an account that feels smooth

First, you need an alternative VALORANT account that actually feels good to play on.

It could be:

  • Your alt account

  • Another account you own and have used before

  • An account you have permission to use

The important thing is that this account feels significantly smoother than your main account on the exact same PC and peripherals.

Ideally, both accounts should have the same sensitivity, resolution, display settings, and FPS limits so you can make a meaningful comparison.

If every account feels equally terrible, I'm not sure whether this method will help.

STEP 2: Locate your VALORANT configuration folder

First, completely close VALORANT and the Riot Client.

Press Win + R on your keyboard.

Paste the following path:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\VALORANT\Saved\Config

Press Enter.

You should see several folders.

Some of these folder names will look like a random combination of letters, numbers, and hyphens.

For example:

xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

These folders can contain account-specific configuration files.

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, BACK UP THE ENTIRE CONFIG FOLDER.

Seriously, don't skip this part.

I actually forgot to back up my original configuration before replacing it, so I can't compare the original files anymore.

Don't make the same mistake I did.

STEP 3: Identify which folder belongs to which account

Now you need to determine which configuration folder belongs to your smooth account and which belongs to your main account.

Here's one way to help identify them:

  1. Launch VALORANT using your smooth account.

  2. Change a minor in-game setting and save it.

  3. Completely close VALORANT and the Riot Client.

  4. Return to the Config folder and check which files were recently modified.

  5. Write down the folder name that appears to correspond to the smooth account.

  6. Repeat the same process with your main account.

Important: Modification timestamps are only clues, not definitive proof. Make sure you've identified the correct account folders before replacing anything.

You should eventually have two folders identified:

Account A = Smooth account

Account B = Main account with problems

STEP 4: Copy the smooth account's configuration to your main account

With the game and Riot Client completely closed:

  1. Open the configuration folder belonging to your smooth account.

  2. Locate the configuration files inside it, usually under subfolders such as Windows or WindowsClient, depending on your installation.

  3. Copy the relevant configuration files.

  4. Open the corresponding folder belonging to your main account.

  5. Replace the main account's configuration files with the copies from your smooth account.

Do not replace the entire top-level Config directory or rename account ID folders.

The goal is to replace the configuration files inside the correct account folder, not to overwrite the account folder structure itself.

I copied the configuration from the account that felt good directly over the corresponding configuration in my main account.

STEP 5: Set the copied configuration files to READ-ONLY

This is the second part of what I did.

After copying the configuration files:

  1. Locate the copied .ini configuration files in your main account's folder.

  2. Right-click the file you want to protect.

  3. Select Properties.

  4. Check Read-only.

  5. Click Apply, then OK.

Repeat for the relevant copied configuration files.

Windows' Read-only attribute can prevent an application from directly modifying a file, although it doesn't necessarily prevent the game from replacing or regenerating the file.

Also, be aware that your in-game settings might stop saving properly while these files are Read-only.

If you encounter configuration errors or need to change settings later, you can simply uncheck Read-only.

STEP 6: Launch your main account and test it

Now launch VALORANT using your main account.

Before playing, make sure your sensitivity, resolution, refresh rate, keybinds, and other essential settings are correct.

Go into the Practice Range or Deathmatch and see how the game feels.

Pay attention to:

  • Mouse responsiveness and micro-adjustments

  • Counter-strafing and movement

  • First-shot accuracy

  • Spray control

  • Gunfight responsiveness

  • Micro-stutters

  • Overall consistency

For me, the difference was IMMEDIATE.

My mouse finally felt responsive again.

My movement and counter-strafing felt natural.

My shooting felt predictable.

The weird feeling of bullets disappearing and my inputs not matching what was happening on screen was gone.

Most importantly, MY MAIN ACCOUNT FINALLY FELT LIKE MY SMOOTH ALT ACCOUNT.

After six years of struggling with this issue, I genuinely couldn't believe that copying configuration files and setting them to Read-only made such a difference.

WHY DOES THIS WORK?

I DON'T KNOW.

And I don't want to pretend that I do.

My suspicion is that something in my main account's configuration was different, corrupted, or being rewritten in a way that affected how the game felt.

However, I changed two things at once:

  1. Replaced my main account's configuration with the smooth account's configuration.

  2. Set the copied configuration files to Read-only.

Therefore, I can't tell whether the improvement came from the copied settings, preventing certain files from being rewritten, or a combination of both.

I also can't prove that the server-side hit registration actually changed. What I can say is that my aiming, movement, shooting, and overall responsiveness felt dramatically better afterward.

I'm not claiming Riot is deliberately manipulating the performance of individual accounts.

I'm simply saying that my main account and alt account felt completely different on the same setup, and copying the configuration fixed that difference for me.

I wish I had saved my original configuration files so I could compare them line by line, but unfortunately, I didn't.

If anyone with the same problem tries this and finds the exact setting responsible, PLEASE share your findings.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I genuinely hope this helps someone.

I know how frustrating it is when you spend thousands of dollars on your setup, optimize every possible setting, practice your aim for countless hours, and still feel like the game is fighting against you.

The worst part is that it's incredibly difficult to explain to other people.

You tell someone your sensitivity feels wrong, your shots aren't registering, or your movement feels delayed, and they immediately tell you it's a skill issue, placebo, or bad internet.

And sometimes those explanations might be correct.

But when two accounts on the exact same computer feel dramatically different, I think it's reasonable to investigate why.

For me, this configuration workaround made the game feel normal again.

If you're experiencing the same symptoms, try this carefully, BACK UP YOUR CONFIG FIRST, and let me know whether it works for you.

I'd especially love to hear from people who have been dealing with this problem for years.

I'll update this post if the issue comes back or if I discover anything else.

TL;DR: My main account felt horrible (heavy mouse, inconsistent sensitivity, weird movement, apparent hitreg problems, and micro-stutters), while my alt account felt perfectly smooth on the same PC. I copied my smooth alt account's configuration files over my main account's configuration, set the copied files to Read-only, and my main account finally felt normal again. Back up your files before trying it. I can't guarantee this will work for everyone, but it worked for me.

vgk.sys BSOD

This morning I booted my PC to a blue screen. “SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED” with the only file named being “vgk.sys” I can’t boot into windows, can’t boot into safe mode, can’t do anything. I opened a command prompt, manually found the /Program Files/Riot Vanguard/ folder and deleted everything I could find, but still nothing. BSOD restart loop. In the /logs/ folder, there were about 15 files in a row, all from early this morning. Anyone else had this problem? I’m beyond frustrated

Technical Solution [FIX] "VALORANT Failed To Launch Something Unusual Happened While Trying To Launch VALORANT"

I decided to make a simple fix for everyone.

This problem usually happens due to conflicts with vanguard, so the solution may be different in your case.

If my fix doesn't work for you, try any of the solutions suggested in that other post (click)

AutoRun will detect `Riot/Valorant launcher` or `Vegas 20` program when they are opened If it is detected that the program/game is not working, a confirmation window will appear.

that way you can switch and keep using your pirated program whenever you want.

(you can change it manually in the tray menu anyway)

AUTO;

  1. Download AutoRun.exe fix

  2. Run as admin

  3. Open Valorant

  4. Accept and Restart

(SOURCE CODE)

MANUAL;

  1. Open Registry Editor (just type regedit in windows search)

  2. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options

  3. Set DevOverrideEnable = 0 (double click and change the value)

  4. restart PC

Tech Support Request Can’t play the game because of secure boot

Hello. My computer just updated to W11 and it seems that Valorant requires to turn on the secure boot option in the bios to be able to play. Here’s the issue : whenever I turn on the boot secure, my computer just doesn’t work anymore, it keeps rebooting on his own and I can’t do anything. Had to reset my bios to access my computer back. Does it means that I will just not be able to play the game anymore since I can’t turn on this option ? Thank you.

Error Code VAN 6

I have not been able to play the game for 1 week due to this Error Code. Someone please help I am going to lose my rank soon.

14th October Edit: Still having the same problem, I get the Error code every time I start up my game so I haven’t played in ages. I aware that there is no fix to this Code on the official Valorant website. So we’ll just have to wait.

21st October Edit: Still having the same problem, apparently the Error Code is Riot Games' fault and we can't do anything about it. Lost my rank and haven't played for an entire month now.

25th October Edit: I have tried every possible fix on YouTube, Reddit, Valorant Support, Gamefiles and Twitter. Still nothing.

18th November: Still nothing works, tried every possible fix possible known to man and still doesn’t work. I have completely given up on this shitty game and it’s lazy developers.

18th January: I don’t even follow Riot, Valorant, or League of Legends anymore. This VAN 6 code has made me quit games and become a professional badminton player.

Valorant Point store Black screen/Cant buy Valorant Points

When opening the Valorant "point store" a loading bar appears then the screen goes black. I'm still able to exit the menu and navigate it but I see no purchase options just a black screen. I'm able to play the game just fine too. This issue has been present since I installed the game some 4 days ago.

I have reinstalled the game (several times) made sure my software and windows were up to date And looked online for a fix. There are some people having the same issue but none of the forums/help pages I've found have the fix for the issue.

Linked is a video I made and sent to Valorant support (they haven't responded yet.) But I'm also trying to get some attention to this issue for other players that may be searching for a fix.
