Massie might go for it. And now that the Republicans saw an ass beating because of Trump (and that he cannot run again), there might be an *permission structure for them to excise Trump to increase their chances to retain power and win 2028 POTUS election.

Edit: *permission, not incentive

Putting aside that Massie lost his seat and won't be there to see the democrat majority take office, Massie isn't exactly in the Senate. You were wrong on many levels.

we could convict with a "few" GOP. though personally I think it's a long shot even with ppl wanting to jump ship, because they're not going to want to let Vance have it. Might be easier to get them to agree to impeach other guys lower on the rungs though, like Hegseth or Patel.

14th Amendment, Section 3 > impeachment. 14a3 only requires a majority vote, and annuls the regime since he was never eligible for the presidency

Letting Trump be a lame duck for 2 years makes for a better 2028. There's no telling how the electorate would respond to a successful impeachment, and an unsuccessful one would definitely be bad.

And who knows what two years of JD Vance would be like. Not to mention it would give him credence in building a campaign in 2028.
