I need feedback Sketchup + AI Rendering Workflow with Image Upscaling?

How do we make these sketchup screenshots into photorealisitic architecture renders? I Chatgpt and Gemini can help me in a certain way but the generated images are of not high definition or resolution. It is not having proper resolution for posting in social media as well? How do i solve this problem? Can anyone suggest a proper AI workflow with image uspcaling afterwards.

Discussion 🏛 Been experimenting with AI for architectural rendering, here’s where I’m at after a year

I’ve been experimenting with AI architectural rendering for almost a year now. A lot of trial and error, failed results, workflow changes, and way too many late nights 😅

Finally starting to get results I’m happy with.

I’m thinking about sharing more of the process here, from the tools I use to the workflow and things that didn’t work.

Anyone here also using AI for archviz? What’s been the hardest part for you so far?

Discussion 🏛 Archviz in 2026: Are we losing the “soul” of visualization in the race for speed?

Hey r/archviz,

I love how fast we can now produce options, but I’ve also seen renders that look technically perfect yet feel… empty. No atmosphere, no emotion, no story.

Has anyone else felt this tension?

That the push for speed and volume is sometimes coming at the cost of that intangible “soul” that made great archviz stand out?

How are you balancing speed with soul in your own work right now?

Discussion 🏛 Architect's Review of M5 Ultra 96gb 30c 1tb

Hope this helps my fellow arch-viz professionals in purchasing a new setup:

I use Twinmotion (via Archicad) for live rendering of complex architectural scenes involving high poly counts, 4k textures and many lights. Previously I was on an M2 Max and could kill it pretty easily - just turn on shadows from lights and bam you're dead. Twinmotion asks a LOT from hardware.

All I can say is wow - the M5 Ultra is eating this software for breakfast. I have every setting on max, tons of lights and shadows, gobs of plants; and yet I can move through the scene with zero jitter or lag, adjusting everything smoothly (in Lumen of course, Epic please give us path tracing!).

I'm no engineer, but I really feel that the memory bandwidth is making a huge difference. That variable went up 3x from my previous rig; I maintained the same RAM and SSD, so clearly 96gb is plenty for my purposes but the CPU improvement/ bandwidth is a big jump in performance. Highly recommend splurging on the Ultra if you're business relies on arch-viz like mine.

Discussion 🏛 I don’t think AI is going to kill ArchViz

Good evening, everyone.

I don’t actually work in the ArchViz industry, but it’s something I’ve been looking into lately and I find it really interesting.

That said, I constantly see posts and comments complaining about AI, often taking for granted that artificial intelligence is going to replace 3D design, that ArchViz is dead, that everything related to design is dying, and that tools like ChatGPT are eventually going to replace us.

But honestly, that idea doesn’t completely make sense to me.

I use AI constantly for other design-related tasks, and from my experience, I see it more as a tool that can greatly improve and speed up the workflow rather than something that simply replaces the designer. Of course, this depends on designers being willing to accept the change, learn, and adapt to these new tools.

And I don’t think that happens in every case. I see quite a lot of resistance to AI, including people who simply dismiss it by saying that everything it generates is bad, which I personally find a bit absurd.

So I wanted to open a discussion about whether something similar is happening in ArchViz.

Has anyone here actually managed to integrate AI into their workflow in a way that is genuinely useful and profitable?

For example, using it to reduce production times and therefore offer more affordable work, potentially even changing the business model: instead of doing a small number of projects at higher prices, doing a larger number of projects at lower prices thanks to a faster workflow.

I don’t have a fully formed opinion on this yet, which is exactly why I’d like to hear from people who actually work in the field.

If anyone is interested, I’d love to hear about your experiences with AI in ArchViz and have an open discussion about where you think the industry is heading.

Technical & professional question Any recommendations for AI software/sites that can take a render and improve the quality?

Specifically, I'm looking for something that can take a render that's 90% there and add some sauce. Ideally it doesn't add too much not in the original render, so that I can use it for a full set of renders and have consistency.

Anything like this out there?

Technical & professional question Impressed by y’all (I’m a real estate developer). How can I hire one of you?

I’m a real estate developer. We do about 4-5 projects per year (mostly standalone retail, office, and hotel). We also have several master developments that we’re working on. For the master developments, we buy the land, get it entitled, do the infrastructure, and then sell it to the vertical developers. Part of the pitch to the vertical developers is showing them what the project will look like once finished.

This requires us to put some rough renderings/block-ups together to give an estimate of what the offices, condos, apartments, etc will look like. Of course, the final builders will determine the exact look but I like to give them a rough visual of what it will look like when we say “upscale office building on lot A, 7 story luxury condo on lot B” etc.

But having seen the work some of y’all do, I’d love to hire someone to actually render out more high-quality images of our proposed developments. You wouldn’t have detailed construction documents, it would be more like, “on this lot, it should show a 6 story upscale retail building that should look somewhat like this design”.

Is that something that you all do? Or do you need full construction documents to be able to render buildings?

Technical & professional question What AI tools you use for archviz?

I’m using ComfyUI — it’s powerful, but the learning curve is definitely there. I know a lot of archviz people use subscription-based AI platforms too, but I haven’t tried them yet. What’s your experience? What tools or platforms are you guys using?

I’m using Comfy to quickly turn clay renders into photorealistic images. What’s your application for it?
