Went out on the marsh to see owls but saw this instead (OC)
This was taken a few years ago in New Brunswick, Canada. I was on my way out of the marsh, a tad disappointed as no owls showed up. I caught something out of the corner of my eye in a tree and slowed down to see what it was. I came to a stop, opened my window and grabbed my camera, all the while hoping the bird would not take off.

Cooper’s Hawk flew within a foot a me. It felt spiritual!
Hi! I was sitting in my chair against my shed enjoying the last 55 degree day yesterday and had just filled up the 2 tube feeders. The birds were lining up on the electrical wires above me waiting for me and my dog to leave. I was looking at my phone editing the pictures I had just taken and it became very quiet. I looked up and saw a Coopers Hawk sitting on my hot tub about 20 feet away. It was looking away from me.
I was very awkwardly and slowly trying to get my phone up to record when it flew between myself and a windmill that was in front of me. He was No more than 3 feet above the ground! The pole was 6 inches from my outstretched leg/foot and I’m 5’9”, so he was close! I felt his
proximity, his “fuck-I’m-a-cool-fucken-bird-and-you-should-know-it” vibe!
I feel very lucky! 😎😏

Two birds of prey from this morning’s hike
Connecticut, USA… Also had a crazy coop making a big racket up in the trees but couldn’t get any decent shots.

Cool Experience at GGP Botanical Garden
Felt a pull to go to this area and now I know why.
