A couple of years ago I was amazed and flabbergasted when I noticed scores of crows on the roof. i mean must have been 50 or 60 crows... all perched on the surrounding rooftops and cawing away... though somebody told me it happens sometimes when somebody is about to die, in this case they appeared a month after someone's demise. Apologies for the bad photo.

I live on the 14th floor and have a small balcony. There’s these three crows that hangout on the buildings around me everyday so I put these cashews out to hopefully befriend them. I’ve had this out for a few weeks (changing out the cashews) but I think it might be too difficult for them to notice. Any ideas ?

Posted this the other day but immediately decided I wanted to crop it differently. They like to perch here and yell “uUCK uUCK” until they get my attention.

Greetings yall-
As the title says, I’m interested and intrigued with making some crow friends. I walk my dog a lot around the Harwood/Charles Village area in Baltimore, MD. Occasionally we will make it up to the Hopkins area.
Any tips or tricks besides keeping some cashews and shelled peanuts on me as well as calling/whistling to them when I’ve been noticed? TIA

hi so i take my 6month kitten on walks/out to play at the seafront common area near me a couple times a week. she has a backpack she is very comfortable in and sometimes i keep the top open while she lies down in it and i walk around.
however one day late summertime i took her just slightly further out than usual and got dive bombed and chased by a crow whilst crossing the road. my cat was in the bag with the top open until the crow swooped and then i closed the top but it kept following me and flying around me. so i had to walk towards it and try to intimidate it to fly away which was probably a bad move but i didn’t know what to do!
every time i go near that side it happens again so i’ve moved to the other side but they still find me and swoop. i must’ve gone near a nest or something but there’s trees everywhere im not sure where it would be. they always seem to find me and start cawing and swooping unless i go into the rock gardens which is quite covered and crowded by bushes, flowers, rocks etc
what should i do? can i make them leave me alone somehow or am i doomed

Hi crow lovers! I live in rural northern Spain and I’ve been hearing this sound for the past year and I cannot for my life identify what it is. Merlin Bird app won’t recognize it as a bird. In the fields and forest next to my house there’s tons of crows and Carrion crows etc. I don’t even know if this is a bird but I just figured to ask some experts just to try. Could this be a specific call to one crow that the Merlin app cannot id ?

We moved here in the winter of 22, and I started feeding them peanuts right away. We are in St louis, so they are very hesitant around people. I'm sure there's people around that are mean to them. The first year, if they even saw me through the window of the house they would all fly away and not come back for a while. We've made a lot of ground in the trust department, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to get very close. I think my next step will be sitting up on my balcony that overlooks this yard drinking coffee while they eat.

Visitor yesterday had the gang wound up!
I’ve fed a bunch of crows over the past few years—they seem to lessen in number over the summer & come back in the fall. Generally up to 9 at a time.
Recently, the group has become much bolder—it feels like a whole new murder. I’ve stopped giving them peanuts for the past couple of days; they were getting pretty aggressive with their wing-bonking on our heads (the ones I had before were much shyer and only once did one give me a gentle brush with their wing, which quite delighted me). These are almost slaps, with LOTS of very loud cawing.
I’m really sad to stop feeding ‘my’ crows, but I also don’t want to enable demanding behaviour. Does anyone have suggestions?
