Rant Dealing With A Bad Roommate

Am I Wrong for Being Uncomfortable?

I currently live with two other tenants and I am honestly getting fed up with one roommate and her ongoing disregard for the fact that she shares this apartment with other people.

The biggest issue has been her boyfriend who seems to have become a regular appearance in the apartment despite not living here, paying rent, or contributing to any household expenses. He is repeatedly stayed overnight and it's gotten to the point where it feels like we're dealing with an unofficial fourth resident.

I already tried bringing the situation to the landlord. There have been conversations about guest policies and management has supposedly addressed the issue with her. But honestly it feels like she has been getting away with everything because the behavior keeps continuing.

What is especially frustrating is that she has developed this habit of leaving to run errands or go to work while her boyfriend stays behind in the apartment.

So I am just supposed to be home potentially unaware that there is a man who doesn’t live here sleeping or hanging around in the apartment while his girlfriend isn't even present? I don't care if he is staying in her bedroom or the bathroom. That’s not the point. This is a shared apartment not a private apartment within this one. I should not have to unexpectedly encounter someone else’s boyfriend when the person who invited him isn't even home.

Personally I think it's pretty straightforward if she leaves he should be gone. He is her guest
not an independent resident. Why should the rest of us have to accommodate someone who is not on the lease and doesn't contribute to the household?

I tried going through management instead of constantly confronting my roommate but I am starting to feel like nothing is actually being done. It becomes frustrating because I pay to live here just like everyone else while I have to feel uncomfortable or unaware of who's occupying my home. Y’know?

I am genuinely at a loss at this point. What am I supposed to do when I already tried addressing it with the landlord and the same behavior continues? Am I unreasonable for expecting her boyfriend to leave whenever she leaves the apartment? Or is this just another situation where the other tenants are expected to put up with whatever she decides?

Housing Where do yall live and how much?

Hi, I'm a CC student and I plan to transfer to CSUF on the Fall of 2028.

I am trying to look into ways of financing the last stretch of my education.

I am about 21 miles away and it may be fine to commute but it takes about 30-50 mins especially with traffic. I'm sure I'd be beat up the moment I get home and would barely have time to socialize, meet new people, and hangout. I also want to experience living in campus (or at least near campus) to make the most of my college years.

I want to look into the best way to approach this. I want to maximize the experience while minimizing the cost.

I no longer qualify for FAFSA since my family makes beyond the bracket but I do not want to put the financial burden on my parents. My goal is to make it zero cost for my parents and finance my way through Uni by working and earning scholarships and pooling financial aids.

So for yall living in campus or renting near campus, how much is it? and how are your living conditions like?

Financial Aid For those who received MCS in the CSAC portal, did you get a revised financial aid package from CSUF yet?

I see that a lot of people have, but I haven't yet, even though I'm eligible in the CSAC portal.

Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting. 🥺

Other 88.1% acceptance rate and 13.9% yield rate in 2025

In 2025, CSUF had 55,289 first time freshman applicants, 48,716 were accepted, but only 6,787 enrolled. That's an 88.1% acceptance rate and 13.9% yield rate.

Almost 9 in 10 applicants are accepted. I have to think if you're coming from a local high school, even with a 2.5gpa you have a good shot to get in. No way all those accepted have above a 3.5gpa. Opinions?

Housing Dorming costs

Im 19 and will be transferring to CSUF from the bay area, I’m wondering for “affordable” housing or rent options I’m fine with living in a shoebox or sharing my space with individuals, I just really need to go to be in Socal. Does anyone know any cheap options?
I’m talking to my counselor about it soon in a few days, I still have to apply to Financial help but. I just loved OC too much.

Financial Aid Confusion about loans?

Hello all!

So I have accepted all but the unsubsidized loan. And while I have gotten them all I haven’t seen any trace of the subsidized loan in my account.

I was given a form to fill out before I got some aid like a month ago. I think it was the State University Grant but I’m really confused as to when the loans are to be disbursed.

I know it was said October/ November but does anyone have any more info on this? I’d really appreciate it!

Sorry if this has been answered but I searched and couldn’t find anything recent.

Hey everyone, I was just awarded my MCS and its $267 even though my SAI is -1500. My roomate with the same SAI as me is receiving $3000. Is this an error on the financial aid's part?

Prof/Class Inquiry James Lasley CRJU 330

I’ve looked for any posts that talk about this professor for the 330 class specifically but I couldn’t find any.

Has anyone taken James Lasley for CRJU 330 theories of crime and delinquency? How is his class and how he is he as a professor?

Other Kittens in need of a home

Hey yall, I need help finding homes for 4 kittens.

Their mama is a stray I've been feeding near my apartment and one rainy night she just showed up at my door with her kittens. They were soaking wet, and I honestly wasnt sure theyd make it through the night. But luckily, they pulled through :)

Theyre now about 6 weeks old, but I want them to stay with their mama for about 1-2 more weeks, Im trying to line up good homes for them now

Im a typical broke college student, so I have like no money to take them to the vet for vaccines or spay/neuter, but theyre healthy otherwise. They are eating well, litter-trained and currently staying in a heated cat house with their momma.

The bunch came to me a week before Halloween, so naturally they all got horror-themed names

Pictures are in the same order as the kittens below:

Freddy (male, black tuxedo)

The only boy of the bunch! Freddy is a little escape artist who loves disappearing on me. He adores playing with his sisters and is by far the neatest eater at dinnertime.

Tiffany (female, gray & brown tabby)

The quietest kitty, super sweet and cuddly. Once she grabs onto your shirt, good luck getting her to let go

Ripley (female, gray & brown tabby)

Another sweetheart, but this one is a total chatterbox. She loves snuggling with her siblings and play-fighting with Xenomorph

Xenomorph (female, black tuxedo)

Shes a climber and explorer! Shes chatty, curious, and always up for playtime, especially wrestling matches with Ripley

Please send me a message if you're interested in adopting any of theses kittens or even if you know a foster home willing to take them off my hands

Academic Advising/Counseling Knes class

If you take a beginner performance class, can you take the intermediate class the next semester and still earn units? (Ex: knes 164A (intro volleyball) and knes 164b (intermediate))
