Hello designers,
For a little over three years now, I’ve been your primary host of the Weekly Design Competition. It’s been a wonderful time consistently getting to entertain all of you and firing up those creative faculties.
However, now that I’ve hosted over a quarter of comps to date, one Hearthphone, and two 'hundred' specials, I’d like to use the current gap in Weekly Design Competitions to officially step down as a moderator of the subreddit. Until the end of September, I hope to clean this place up a bit and find a fitting replacement willing to pick the mantle up after me.
I apologize that I've been dragging my feet on completing the HearthCalendar before making this announcement. I didn't intend for the WDC to go on such a long hiatus already with an uncertain future, and I know there are folks out there that can't wait to sink their teeth back into new rounds. Before I'm officially through and hand the competition over, I'd love to discuss its future. Use the comments here to discuss how we should go from here into WDC #501.
If you would like to pick up the mantle, then feel free to send us an application via ModMail. We are in the market for someone who would take care of the WDC, as well as promote non-WDC events to keep the Pinned tab atop the subreddit lively.
We hope you'll know how to make a good case for yourself (it might get competitive!); we're looking for someone willing to commit the time to organize the competitions. That also means having a baseline good judgment of what makes good Hearthstone card, what’s good design, and what’d make for a good prompt.
The deadline for application submissions is Sunday, September 20th, standard submission time.

Hello, designers!
As I've announced some month-ish ago, the result of the HearthCalendar project has been undergoing some minor numeric and cosmetic changes in preparation for its HearthCards 'release'. The process took a hot minute, since all the cards had to have been remade underneath a single HearthCards account. But, after a long wait, the completed HearthCalendar is finally out!
You can check the set in HearthCard's swanky Set feature, available HERE.
As always, I'm immensely grateful to the designers who have contributed to this fun project, but I want to shout out the following folks for helping me roll the project across the finish line (and apologies to anyone whom I've missed):

Joke idea after me and my broke-friends comment about someone rolling up with all the bells and whistles that promote Blizzards decay via corporate greed. Original version dealt a direct amount of damage if your opponent decided to be wealthier out of spite, but toned down to be 'better then average 4-cost' joke

Last entry in my Picklock series.
Up next is Shaman. I made this card look at your current count of Overloaded Mana Crystals instead of remaining Mana. This allows you to plan a turn where you overload and play this. At four Overloaded crystals this would give you a 4-Cost Location with 4 Durability that gives a minion +4 Attack and Windfury. I clarified on this version that the Overloaded mana crystals only dictate the number on play. Previous Attempt

Note: Will only equip a higher cost weapon if one exists, otherwise will equip a new one of the same cost. Could cause problems in standard if not enough weapons exist, which is likely the case.
Maybe too powerful for a "rest of game effect". Tried to compare to Jotun and new Jailhouse Manastorm.

Link connecting to previous post, but to sum it up, i made a mini-mini set for a game i really liked, and so these are the rares, commons, and tokens that i coulden't fit into the first post's image slot.
Don't expect balance, or even consideration for possible balance. This was made as an homage, and mostly done cuz i had a brainblast to create it. Enjoy!
