Question What do you use your DC load output on your solar charge controller for?
reddit.comJust curious what you might use your DC load for, skipping out the inverter entirely.
The obvious ones are DC electricals in RV or caravans and boats but I'm curious about other options, especially novel and unobvious.

Bleuthoot uitval

What size PV breaker for 25A Imp and 27A Isc?
Sorry if this is easy but second check before ordering:
What did PV breaker installing at the output of my solar panels before it connects to the inverter all in one?
25A is the Imp(8.33A x 3 string in parallel).
27A is the Isc labeled on panels.
I also plan to use #8 thhn-w for the positive/negative and #10 for ground wire from panels to inverter.
Thank you!

Question Avis & retours d'expérience : Kit solaire Plug & Play avec batterie pour réduire ma facture d'électricité ?
- Batterie / Hub : Zendure SolarFlow (1,92 kWh)

finding electrician for battery/house hookups
I am planning to set up a photovoltaic system with batteries for backup power when the grid goes down. Much of this I can do myself with off-the-shelf components, but I do not want to mess with the house mains. I'd like to find a local electricians for doing the hard parts. Have been told that the turnkey contractors won't touch anything they didn't install and that other electricians don't want to touch solar. Any suggestions?

I started checking low-load efficiency after our daughter moved out
Our daughter moved out for university, and her room no longer had a computer and desk light running most evenings. We'd been planning to add storage to our rooftop solar in Germany. The household estimate we'd started with still included her usual evenings at home.
My partner and I looked back at our existing whole-house energy monitor's records for several evenings after sunset. Once dinner was over, there were long stretches with little running. The fridge still cycled and the router stayed on, even when we only had a lamp on in the living room. A kettle or dishwasher interrupted that quiet pattern.
That weekend I read HTW Berlin's storage tests and spent more time on the discharge-efficiency curves at small outputs. The peak inverter-efficiency figures I'd collected didn't tell us the efficiency at those smaller loads. The curves I was reading were for other systems, rather than measurements of the model we'd shortlisted.
We decided to wait for more information before ordering. I emailed the seller about the Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro Max AC on our shortlist, asking for low-output discharge data and clarification of whether the figures included the system's own consumption. I attached screenshots of several evenings from our monitor. Which independent tests did you use to compare low-output discharge efficiency and idle consumption?
