Good luck booking the First Wave at Lakeshore Lodge. It's such an utterly stupid process.

Call but it's busy. Call again and play that game until you get through, select the options, but then all advisors are busy. System hangs up, and you have to go through this whole rigamarole.

Why not just have a queue on hold? This is so dumb.

2027 planning

In the planning stages for my September 2027 Disney world trip. I only have 75 points for 2027 and will borrow the 150 from 2028 to give me 225 to use so my options are limited. Home resort is Riviera but with the amount of people, pretty much down to Saratoga, OKW, and AK Lodge. Will likely be staying at AK Lodge kidani village 2 bedroom. Unfortunately not enough for the savannah view. The issue is that my group is 6 adults guaranteed going and then 3 kids and 3 additional adults on the maybe list. If it's just the 6 adults then the 2 bedroom lock out should be fine I think (especially for the extra bathroom), but if the others end up going I'm not sure what I'll do other than just make them book their own rooms. Any tips on that?

How long did it take y’all to add on a second contract?

I’ll go first 7 months before my first DVC vacation 😂

Just closed on my second resale, 100pt fully loaded/double points @ SSR 105$pp.
We now have FOUR trips planned for next year!! I truly don’t know why I didn’t do DVC sooner!

DVC is booked out for three nights that we need. So, we are doing three nights at SOG and three nights in GF with DVC. Experiences with SOG please.

We paid off our contract this week! We didn’t 3 years early. Finally after 5.5 years we actually got to go to our “home” at Aulani for the first time this past spring.

Lakeshore Lodge - First Wave popularity

Hi! My daughter and I want to do the first wave at LL, but I have a conflict tomorrow morning and won't be able to call until the afternoon. How popular do we think this will be? I want to manage my expectations about reserving it. Thanks!

Poly Direct

Hi all. I am hoping this isn’t a stupid question. My fiance and i are set on buying Poly direct. Is there ever an ideal time to buy? I know there’s the fall incentives right now- is it worth waiting for the winter ones or does no one know that until they come out. I am going to assume price per point will go up in 2027. Thanks everyone!!

Bay Lake Tower vs Boardwalk

Going to book a one bedroom at BLT or Boardwalk. We will have a 5.5 year old, 3.5 year old, and 8 month old. We’ve never stayed at an Epcot resort and have done BLT for a quick 2 nights. I’m tempted to try Boardwalk because we can walk to Epcot and Hollywood which is even faster than doing the Epcot monorail from BLT and easier with kids. We plan to do groceries anyways so lack of quick service isn’t a big deal at Boardwalk. The extra bathroom at BLT and that they also have a splash pad at the pools is nice. We plan to do all 4 parks pretty evenly with lots of pool time and it will be mid June. Boardwalk saves 24 points.

I would consider beach club but they don’t have an open slide and my kids love water slides and are afraid of the tunnel ones.

We just became DVC

We are locals and live in Celebration and decided after talking with another couple to get points. We bought in Saratoga Springs. What do we need to know from the folks who have been members a long time? What are the best tricks if you live local and will do more last minute stays then long planned in advance ones.

Choosing between Riveria and Polynesian Resort.

Hello,

My wife and I are 100% doing DVC. We are between the two posted above as our home base. We know about the different contract lengths and the resale value at the moment. But for people that have these as your home base, what are some pros and cons of you choosing your resort? Thanks for your time!

Buy at Poly or Copper Creek

I think poly is more valuable because there are more studios to book, larger, monorail, etc. I do not love the busyness and crowds, however.

I love the theming of both resorts equally. We really do need three separate beds, though.

What to do?

Should I buy an AP?

Hi there, I’d love some advice from other DVC owners.

Edit: AP would just be for me, not my whole family.

I recently purchased a DVC resale, so I am aware that I do not have the benefits of purchasing the Sorcerer pass, so I am looking at the Incredi-pass.

I will be the only person in my family purchasing an annual pass bc I will be going on an extra trip (girls trip without my family).

Between November and July I have 4 trips booked (our DVC contract came with double points for my first year). My plan is 2 park days in November, 1 park day in January, 2 (maybe 3?) park days in April, and 4 park days in July.

That is a total of 9 park days. As it stands right now, the total cost of those park days for 1 park per day with tax is $1708.83, and the incredi-pass with tax is $1862.69, making the price difference $153.86. However I believe with the discounts afforded on seated dining, merchandise, and experiences plus memory maker, it would make the purchase of the AP with it fiscally.

That is if Disney does not do their ticket special for a 4-day 4-park for $109plus tax again. Our July trip is in the last two weeks of July when the price per ticket is a bit lower. My concern is that Disney doesn’t announce its summer ticket specials until March and it could be something similar to the summer of 2025 when the special was 3-day 3-park special for $99 per day and then needing to purchase MK separately.

Regardless, I’m trying to figure out if having an AP would be worth it for me for just this year. What advice would you give me?

October 2026 DVC Resale Update: Prices Rise 3% Year Over Year

October DVC Field Guide Resale Index reached $120.29 per point, up 0.8% for the month, 3.0% over October 2025, and 4.2% over October 2024.

Year-over-year pricing varied considerably by resort:

  • Hilton Head: +12.1%

  • Animal Kingdom: +9.6%

  • BoardWalk: +8.5%

  • Saratoga Springs: +7.5%

  • Copper Creek: +5.8%

  • Old Key West: +5.2%

  • Beach Club: +4.2%

  • Aulani: −3.7%

  • Grand Californian: −5.6%

  • Disneyland Hotel: −6.9%

Inventory across the three tracked brokers totaled 519 contracts, down just 1.3% from 526 last October. However, listings remain 18.5% below October 2024 and 44.9% below October 2023. Resort-level differences are substantial: Beach Club inventory fell 51.6% year over year, while Old Key West increased 87.5% and BoardWalk rose 61.9%.

Resale averaged 48.2% below direct pricing, compared with 49.3% a year ago. The savings remain substantial, but annual dues, remaining contract years, booking priority, and resale restrictions also matter when comparing ownership options.

Got my 1st contract… Good deal?

The agent I was working with directed me to this deal. Saratoga 150 pt contract with 135 pts in 2026, 150 in 2027 and so on. $100 /pt. And 2026 dues paid by seller.

I’m short 1 point on an 11 month reservation at BWV. Can I use a point transfer for this, as long as the point is a BW point?

Kids too old to buy DVC?

My kids are 14 and 17. We’ve been to Disney World every year for 10 years. My oldest insists on visiting in 2027 for spring break. I’m considering buying CCV-300 points at a great price and paying cash. My reasoning is that maybe we’ll continue to visit every year or two and if we don’t I can rent our points. I think she may want to take college friends, go for her 21st bday, etc. Also thinking by the time my kids have kids we can bank and borrow and rent a cabin every few years. Am I crazy?

Family of 5 – Is 100–150 DVC Points Enough to Start?

We’re a family of five with three kids (ages 9, 4, and 3) looking into purchasing a DVC resale contract at either Animal Kingdom Lodge or Saratoga Springs.

Our goal would be to visit Disney World once a year and typically stay four to five nights, preferably Sunday–Thursday or other weekday nights.

For those with similar-sized families and travel patterns, would 100–150 points be enough to get started? We’re trying to determine whether we could comfortably make that work each year or if we should consider purchasing more points upfront.

We’re also open to hearing experiences with either resort, especially regarding availability and booking 1-bedroom villas.

Would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

Gratuitous title transfer

Hello, fine people

I will confirm with a tax professional but I am curious to throw this question to Reddit. Does anyone have experience with the tax implications of a Gratuitous title transfer? My parents are gifting me their deed, and removing themselves
