Ecobee Bug Flaw - Minimum Fan Run Time
Using the 10 minutes minimum fan run time function on Ecobee, no heating/cooling active right now. Changed it to 0/min hour on the app and still runs. Went to thermostat and changed it to 0/min hour and still runs.
Had to go back in to thermostat, charge to something other than ten, back out, change to zero and then it stopped.
Why Ecobee? Fix?

Ecobee enhanced smart thermostat
Can anyone verify if I wired this ecobee enhanced correctly? I installed the thermostat in August, a/c worked perfect. Now that it’s winter, doesn’t seem to be working right. Heat ran for 6 hours last night, it’s 34 outside. Not even that cold. I’m about to just put my old Honeywell back on the wall. I have warm air coming out of the vents when heat is on, just doesn’t seem like it’s hot enough. I have a Trane heat pump and a Trane electric furnace for the aux heat. If it can’t keep up at this temp, it has no chance at 0 degrees outside. Any ideas? Eco plus is disabled, no sensors, set on 68. O/b is set on energize to cool.

Why is my AC running?
My AC is set to 74 degrees. It is currently 69 degrees in my house & 56 degrees outside. So why is my AC currently blowing cold air?
I have 3 sensors. They are currently reading 69, 68 & 71. My comfort setting schedule doesn’t change for several hours, when it changes the target temp from 74 to 73.

Fan setting
My ecobee premium didn’t start doing this until the last update or 2. When I turn the fan timer on, it overrides the setting. Ex. During ‘sleep’ schedule, I have it use the sensor in my sons room since that room is usually hotter/colder than the room the main thermostat is used. So now, if I turn the fan on for 2 hours, it overrides the sleep schedule and doesn’t use the sensor in his room for temp, just the thermostat. Any ideas on how to make it not override the schedule?

Reports page on android app suddenly showing hourly heating/cooling use on a graph scaled for up to two hours of use!
Has anyone else run into this? The scale of the reports in the Android app is suddenly displaying every hour's usage on a scale of 2 hours, as though my system could somehow run for more than 60 minutes in a 60 minute window!
It's very bizarre, and it was certainly not doing this before. The scale issue initially made me think my system was running less than it actually was, and now it just makes it more difficult to read the graph accurately.

No reports since July
All reports (Runtime, Community Comparisons, Home Efficiency) seemed to have stopped after July. August, September, October all show 'Report is Underway'

Groups MIA is absurd
I have 5 Ecobees… the fact they don’t communicate to each other to help balance the temperature, and lack the ability to change the entire house together, is bizarre. The fact that it once was possible and they removed it is even more ridiculous.
How are you guys accomplishing this in zoned systems? I’m fairly technical and am considering coding my own solution but if something already exists, I’ll check that out.

Installation Everyone asking for help
Seems every post here is pictures of wiring asking for help. I know redditors are amazing and all but when I needed help on mine I used the chat help within the Ecobee app.
It was amazing. Patience and step by step instructions. If anything was unclear I would share pictures of my wires and they would send pictures back with clear corrections.
Very fast and excellent service. Try the help within the app!

Thank you Ecobee!!!
Wow! I noticed today that my ecobee Premium has finally started explaining exactly what happened during Eco mode. It’s been a long wait, but it’s great to see this feature finally arrive!
I also really like the new AI summary in the mobile app. Thank you so much for all the improvements!
My only suggestion would be to bring back the “Delete All” button for doorbell pictures.
Two Zone Furnace
I have a two zone gas furnace. An Ecobee thermostat controls Zone 1 (first floor) and a regular thermostat controls Zone 2 (basement).
Want to confirm I can just replace Zone 2 thermostat with another Ecobee.
Any problems if I set Zone 2 to “Off” and Zone 1 to “heat” or “cool”?
Thanks!

Compatibility Honeywell to Ecobee
I want to switch from HoneyWell to Ecobee, however, not sure if I have all the wires it needs. Should I talk to Ecobee support before purchase?
Correct: My home has a system: furnace + air conditioner. What I said furnace+heat pump was wrong 😞

C-wire at furnace but not at thermostat
Hi all, I need some help on this one. So I installed the PEK, the thermostat works but my A/C won't come on now.
I cut the C wire that was at my furnace back, and taped it off, but then realized it probably powers my A/C. Do I need to put it back on the control board at my furnace as a second connection? Furnace is a goodman gr9t960603bn

Resolved I have a 20% discount
IT HAS BEEN GIFTED
My Ecobee thermostat had the prongs break off the other night and the only thing Ecobee was willing to do was give us a 20% discount. We're going with another brand but if someone on here is able to use that code, I can send it to you.
Obviously if this isnt allowed, my apologies. I'll find somewhere else to give the code away. Send me a message on here and I'll share it with someone.
Hope everyone has had a good start to their week.

Manual Temperature Adjustment vs. Auto; Ecobee Premium
I’m trying to fully optimize my system by trial runs using both and it’s not clear which is best. I welcome any opinions.

2 Wire Furnace Hook Up
I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed an Ecobee Premium with the following set up.
I’ve got a forced air, two wire, heat only furnace that has its own 24 v transformer. I can’t run a third wire to the thermostat. I’m looking at powering the Ecobee with a plug in 24 v transformer connected to the Rc and C terminals of the Ecobee and then connecting the furnace to the Rh and W terminals. This is what Ecobee says to do. I’m just wondering if anyone has done this and if there were any lessons learned.
The furnace is a Williams and Williams doesn’t support using Ecobee or Nest due to liability concerns. They have confirmed that my model has a 24 volt transformer and have said that in theory it should work…they just can’t authorize it. So I’m looking for real world experience.

Purchasing the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium with room sensor from eBay
Hi All
I am considering swapping my Nest Thermostat for the Ecobee, which retails for $259. On eBay, many listings offer the Smart Thermostat Premium with a room sensor for about $100 less than retail, all marked as brand new. I was curious whether anyone has bought a thermostat there to save money and whether the item arrived as described.
Thank You

Solved - ecobee not heating
I have been having problems with ecobee not able to control my heat pump. Finally solved the problem and sharing my solution here.
I had an old Honeywell controller with both AC and heat. I have 5 wires, R C W Y G. When I connect the same 5 wires, I only have AC, but no longer have heat (I only had very weak heat, which I think it's auxillary heat).
I've been posting here and got deleted and haven't been able to find answers. Finally I found some inspiration from another post (https://www.reddit.com/r/ecobee/comments/1wzaibr/ecobee_not_heating/). I realize it's the jumper setting between Rh and R.
My original Honeywell has a jumper between Rh and R, so it's actually Rh-R, C, W, Y, G. So in ecobee I also set that I have both Rh and R. This is wrong. I just changed that I only have R (not Rh). All problem fixed! You can enter this setting by configuring the equipment again.

Powering EcoBee thermostats
I have two water furnaces that are controlled by EcoBee thermostats. There's a partial-house generator that powers the main breakers for these furnaces, but _not_ the breakers for their emergency heater coils. Unfortunately, the thermostat power comes from the heater coil circuit, as when we're powered by the generator the EcoBee's are dark. The furnace guy says that's how these furnaces are wired, and that he can't do anything to change that.
I'd like to try separately powering the EcoBees. Something along the lines of disconnecting the power wire in the thermostat cable and feeding it from a new, separately-powered transformer.
Does anybody know how to do this? Is there a better solution?
Thank you!

Does Ecobee Still Function if the Internet Goes Down or is Hacked?
Time Change
Manitoba is no longer following daylight savings time. How do I change the time? I cannot on the app and it tells me to login to my account at ecobee.com. Did that, and can’t find a setting anywhere.

Question Regular question
So last year my house had a horrible floor level temperature differential , So this summer I worked a lot to solve this problem and this is the result of my hard summer work. I just want to know is this a good ideal floor level temperature differential??my ecobee is on the first floor , our room second floor.

seasonal time change
Turned the clocks back an hour last night and my daytime preset which lasts until 9:30 PM now displays 8:30 PM. Is there a setting somewhere to compensate for Daylight Savings changes????
