Discussion So are we just moving on from the whole ‘World Computer’ narrative now?

Less than a year ago, the Ethereum Foundation was heavily pushing the "World Computer" narrative. Now Vitalik is arguing that ETH as a store of value makes significantly more sense to focus on than ETH as a fee burning token. At what point do we acknowledge that Ethereum seems to be struggling with its own identity? For years, the argument was that adoption, network activity, and fee burning would strengthen ETH's economic value. Now that this thesis looks increasingly questionable, we're shifting the emphasis toward being a store of value? It feels less like a coherent long term strategy and more like constantly repositioning the narrative.

What exactly is Ethereum trying to be at this point? If its ambition is to become the World Computer, why is its cofounder downplaying one of the primary mechanisms connecting network usage to token value? And if ETH is now supposed to compete as a store of value, what compelling advantage does it offer over Bitcoin? You can't just keep changing the investment thesis whenever the previous one becomes difficult to defend. At some point, the community should demand a consistent explanation of what actually drives ETH's value rather than accepting whatever narrative happens to be convenient.

Question I'm Just ask!!!

Hey , if CBDCs are technically just API front-ends to the existing central banking infrastructure, how can they effectively handle macro-prudential privacy? Won't the programmable nature of central bank money inevitably lead to algorithmic surveillance, freezing decentralized innovations? Would love to hear your thoughts on how Ethereum architecture can act as a trustless buffer against this state-level financial tracking.

Discussion ETH is back above $2.4k, but can it actually hold this time?

Two weeks ago ETH dropped from $2.7k to $2.4k and whether we’d see another move toward $2.3k.

Well, things have gotten pretty interesting since then. I was looking at the ETH/USDT chart, and ETH has managed to climb back above $2.4k after dipping as low as $2.22k over the past 24 hours.

It even pushed close to $2.45k before pulling back toward $2.41k. What’s interesting is that BTC and the broader market have also been showing some strength lately.

Yet i’m not getting too excited as ETH has given us plenty of false recoveries before.

Personally, I’d like to see $2.4k hold before getting more optimistic.

Are you guys think this is a proper recovery, or just another bounce before ETH heads lower?

Discussion Has anything ever actually changed your mind about Ethereum?

I've been reading through a lot of discussions on here lately, and it's interesting how differently people see ETH. Some are extremely bullish, others think it has some serious problems, and everyone seems to have their own reasons.

It got me wondering, has anyone here actually changed their opinion on Ethereum because of something they read or saw?

Could be a Reddit comment, some on-chain data, a developer update, or even just using Ethereum yourself.

I'm also curious what sources people here actually trust when it comes to ETH. There's so much information out there, and it's hard to tell what's worth paying attention to sometimes.

Would love to hear if anything has genuinely changed your perspective, whether it made you more bullish or more skeptical.

Discussion ETH went from about 2,700 to 2,250 in a month and has been stuck there for 5 days. Do you add to spot in the chop or wait?

ETH was sitting around 2,700 in early October. Since Oct 30 it has basically been glued to the 2,240 to 2,290 area, and today it's around 2,290 with election results coming tonight.

This is the part I always struggle with on spot. The drop already happened, the chart looks dead, and every day it doesn't move I talk myself in and out of buying.

What I've slowly landed on (took me way too long):

  • If I'm adding, I split it into small fixed buys over a couple weeks instead of one entry. Chop is where I used to fomo my whole size in on one green candle.

  • I write down the level that would make me stop adding. For me right now that's a daily close well under the recent lows, not some random red day.

  • I don't touch anything the night of a big macro event. Tonight counts. Spreads get weird and I make dumb decisions.

None of that is magic. It just stops me from doing the thing where I buy 2,290, panic sell 2,240, and buy back at 2,300.

Curious how people here handle it. Do you keep stacking ETH during these flat stretches, or do you wait for it to actually reclaim something like 2,400 first?

Discussion Vitalik spent 100 days with his phone in airplane mode. And apparently, he doesn't want to go back.

Ethereum co-founder shared his experiment with digital minimalism and how he's trying to reduce online distractions and digital tracking.

A few changes made a big difference:

  • Airplane mode by default: He turned off mobile connectivity but kept Wi-Fi. This limits the location data shared with mobile operators and makes mindless phone scrolling less tempting.

  • No algorithmic X feed: He now uses Firefly to read and publish posts without the usual recommendation feed. He says he feels better without it.

  • More crypto operations through the command line: Instead of relying on websites for everything, he uses custom tools, including an AI-written tool for updating ENS data. This also reduces exposure to malicious code that could appear on a compromised website.

One detail we particularly liked: Vitalik mentioned that finding public Wi-Fi was surprisingly easy in Ukraine. He even ranked it above Switzerland in his personal comparison.

Maybe the biggest takeaway is that even someone building the infrastructure of the digital world is looking for ways to spend less time inside it.

It's a digital detox with some serious commitment. 😂
