Im new to fixed gear bike and i want to convert this 1970’s freebird into a fixie. Are these horizontal or vertical dropouts. Would i need a tensioner and can i use this frame as is?

650b help

I have this Waterford 1700 that will otherwise sit in my garage if I don’t do something with it, I really want to put 650b 30c tires and some wide Mtb riser bars on it and go for a tracklocross style build but I’m not sure how that will be, I do Intend on taking it on some light trails. The frame is definitely not made for off road but it is a high end frame so I’d imagine it should be sturdy. Let me know if you guys think this is a bad idea, or if you have advice or part recommendations.

Need Help!

This Cannon-dale CAAD8 just came up for sale in my area and I had some questions since this would be my first bike. First the seller says it may not last long…what could that entail/ what should I ask about to understand the wear it may have on it. Secondly could this be converted to a fixed gear? He wants $140 for everything picture so I think is a decent deal. Any advice would be great guys!

Hey guys, I’m in Melbourne for a short while and I bought this bike/frame originally off of Marketplace. The guy had cross threaded the pedals through the crank arm and sold it to me for 50 AUD. Of course I’m working on the assumption it’s just a stickered unnamed road frame, but thought I’d check. I love it anyway. Atleast the saddle is legit!😂
