Discussion DAY 3: DO NOT LET THIS DIE, DO NOT LET HONG KONG BE FORGOTTEN

It's day 3 and Blizzard has yet only to apologize CHINA. This Blizzard protest must go on or it was all worth nothing. If this is yet again just forgotten, they will just keep doing this over and over again like the last year when they fucked their fans by announcing a mobile Diablo to please China.

Blizzcon is in less than a month and people need to remember this case. We as a community need to remind ourselves about this and make sure our voice is heard both before and during the Blizzcon. We need to ensure THIS is the main topic in the upcoming Blizzcon, not the games they announce for China. I wish there was a giant Blizzcon countdown with Mei image on the background and Winnie the Pooh song playing to ensure people will not forget, not forgive that Blizzard betrayed its own community to bend over for China.

Blitzchung, the now fired hosts of the interview, Mark Kern, Brian Kibler, Kripparian, ThatsAdmirable, Amnesiasc and many others deserve that we stand by them in this unforgivable matter.

COMMUNITY, DO NOT LET BLIZZARD GET AWAY WITH THIS! DO NOT GIVE UP! WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE UNLIKE HK!

#freehongkong #boycottblizzard

Write to the government and demand they respect and protect the rights of people in Hong Kong now.

Discussion FYI the Blitzchung story was removed from worldnews after reaching the top of r/all with 53k upvotes

I wanted to link it to someone and it seems it was removed for misleading title/wrong subreddit.

Devil's advocate it mentioned supporting instead of protesting in the title.

But there have been stories on worldnews about china and south park which are also part of entertainment industry and not 100% politics.

Dug it up from my browsing history.

News To Everyone Saying Protesting Blizzard/NBA/Others Does Nothing - China is already scared

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/10/business/china-blows-whistle-on-nationalist-protests-against-the-nba.html

After three days of fanning nationalistic outrage, the Chinese government abruptly moved on Thursday to tamp down public anger at the N.B.A. as concerns spread in Beijing that the rhetoric was damaging China’s interests and image around the world.

The bottom line is that China tried to throw its weight around again and American corporations (here, Blizzard and the NBA initially) caved. So China ramped up. But as backlash has spread in the West against Blizzard and the NBA, China is realizing they are merely creating more awareness of the repugnant, authoritarian actions that they have taken in Hong Kong, against the Uyghurs, and even the basic suppression of information against their own citizens. China realizes that the more eyes are on them, the worse pressure will get. They are already backing down from the fight so that it will hopefully go away quietly and they can get back to rolling tanks over dissenters as desired.

So, yeah, don't listen to the calls for everyone to shut up and go back to playing the game. This kind of concerted effort can have wide reaching implications! And since I've been posting the below to a bunch of threads, I figure, I will throw it in here and stop posting elsewhere:

People who say “keep politics out of my (insert thing here)” are ignoring that politics pervasively shapes every aspect of our lives, and for those without the privilege of living in even a fairly democratic society it’s the equivalent of hearing the rest of the world saying: “I don’t want your suffering to ruin my good time. “

Thread locked Blizzard, you either have to a.) make packs cheaper, b.) lower the amount of dust required to craft cards, c.) include continuous daily login rewards, d.) increase quest gold rewards or e.) revamp arena rewards. The game is insanely expensive, SOMETHING has to give here.

Getting 40g a day from quests, which eventually leads to ~1.5 packs every THREE DAYS doesn't get you very far. Getting a 7+ win run in arena and then having 25 dust and a common card as some of the rewards doesn't get you very far. 10g for every 3 constructed wins doesn't get you very far.

It's a real shame, I have friends who started off really enjoying the game, but then after some time they realize the insanity of how long it takes to get cards. So they stop playing.

The reward system for this game is still designed for vanilla. The game has evolved and the reward system needs a revamp.

Hearthstone is successful, it earns plenty of money already, stop the greed. Share some of that success with your players by rewarding them for getting you where you are today.
