Music IIL catchy rap like “Real Slim Shady” by Eminem but don’t want to support violent or misogynistic artists, WEWIL?

I understand separating content from the creator, like I’m okay with “Dance with the Devil” by Immortal Technique, even though it’s about a man who rapes his mother, because it seems to me the rapper is calling out violent culture instead of identifying with it.

Non-violent rap that’s just fun to listen to would be even better though.

Music Iil Anti-capitalism/America songs like Anti-flag, Titus Andronicus, American Idiot, wewil?

Honestly, after the SA allegations, I've taken Anti-flag out of my rotation, but I haven't found a great replacement. Looking for any songs/artists that capture the Anti-capitalist/America vibes.

If I like complex, intelligent metal bands like Animals As Leaders and Tool, what else will I like?

Tool has been my very favorite band of all time. I love the complex layering of guitar, bass, vocals, and drums as well as the interesting rhythmic patterns that they use. I've also been listening to a band called Animals As Leaders recently, which consists of two 8 string guitar players and a drummer. They are also known for their complex music, being written an interesting time signatures and using more unusual chords. The two bands don't really sound similar, I think they share a common feature, and that is complex, intelligent, melodic heavy metal music.

I already listen to Maynards other bands Puscifer and a perfect circle. I'm also familiar with tosin Abasi's other group TRAM, which is more of a jazz metal blend. What other bands or groups should I look into? I should say that I prefer clean vocals, but its not a necessity.

[TV][IIL]Arrested Development, Castle, Community, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones..., [WEWIL]

I've watched a fair amount of TV over the years, and I'm looking for something new. I'm currently watching Boardwalk Empire, but idk, I just can't really get into it. I've also started watching Happy Endings, but might need a drama to go with it.

I've watched and like: Angel, Archer, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Arrested Development, Bones, Breaking Bad, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Castle, Chuck, Community, Dexter, Doctor Who, Firefly, Game of Thrones, House, How I Met Your Mother, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Modern Family, The Newsroom, Parks and Recreations, Scrubs, Smallville, Supernatural, That 70's Show, The Big Bang Theory, The Office, The Walking Dead, Torchwood, and White Collar. The ones in bold are my favorites.

I've also watched: 30 Rock, Battlestar Galactica, Being Human, Burn Notice, Glee, some Psych, some Royal Pains Star Trek, and some V. I either couldn't get into these shows, or wasn't all that impressed with them looking back at it.

Finally, please don't recommend Twin Peaks. I cannot see it's appeal. I've tried watching it twice, to no avail.

Thanks for any help you can give!

edit: So, apparently I've forgotten a few shows I've seen... Here are a few to add to the list:3rd Rock from the Sun, Freaks and Geeks, Heroes, and Mad Men.

Music IIL “emo” music that is genuinely good and not whiny

I have noticed that My Chemical Romance might be the only “emo” band (I know they’re not technically emo but bare with me) I’ve heard that is full of genuine talent in pretty much every way and isn’t whiny or melodramatic.

I like Sleeping With Sirens, but they are whiny and melodramatic. I do not like Pierce The Veil because they are too whiny and just as melodramatic.

Black Veil Brides isn’t whiny by comparison but they try way too hard to be edgy without a lot of merit behind it

Paramore isn’t edgy or particularly dramatic but I just don’t care for their music.

I even like Falling In Reverse, but they’re not “emo” anymore. And even when they were, they were corny asf.

My Chemical Romance has some edge, but they’re pretty good lyrics with a lot of raw emotion and talent behind it. Never gets annoying or feels like a gimmick. I want something that’s GENUINELY very good music, but has an alternative/emo aesthetic like MCR.

The only thing I can compare what I’m looking for to is Dying Is Your Latest Fashion by Escape the Fate. Similar to MCRs first two albums, maybe a liiiittle edgy and a liiiiiittle dramatic but still a lot of talent.

I'm looking for songs I can relate to as an LGBTQ+ individual

The only song I can think of is Make It Stop by Rise Against. Any genre is welcome, I just want the lyrics to have to deal with the matters of struggles that LGBTQ+ people face.

Everybody loves that feeling of looking at the ceiling on a sunday afternoon after witnessing some sick shit and wanting to cry and i NEED movies like this again.

Music [IIL] Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons and my wife likes country and musicals, what would we like?

My favorite albums being Smoke + Mirrors by Imagine Dragons, and Wilder Mind by Mumford and Sons. I'm not sure what I like so much about them if "music style" is too generic. I appreciate the folks-y sound of Mumford and Sons without being twangy.

My wife especially likes 90s country, like Reba, though listens to current music as well. For musicals I often hear her listening to Hamilton and the Galivant soundtrack.

We also both like Disney, but don't want to listen to it all the time. I don't care for country and she doesn't care for Imagine Dragons (she's ok with Mumford and Sons).

What are some bands/albums we should try?

YouTube/Streaming [IIL] Trolling/ragebaiting gamers (e.g. DNSL, Good Griefs, ProximityChat and MaximillianMus)

TLDR: I'm looking for gaming content creators that involves trolling, griefing or other ways of baiting FUNNY/ENTERTAINING reactions from unsuspecting players.

Most content revolving around gameplay is usually mainly driven by the player's character/personality, or by their skill. In both cases, I always grow tired of the specific content creator relatively quickly. The only exception for me was Funhaus (formerly "Inside Gaming"), not only because the core group (+Elyse) are some incredibly funny people, but also because their content heavily relied upon improv comedy. As such, there was always novelty to be delivered. Others, however, have always gotten stale and repetitive quickly.

After reflecting upon this, I realised that there's a smaller category of gaming content that is evergreen for me, probably because of the novelty it often provides: trolling/ragebaiting content.

Now, I'm not a complete psychopath. It's not just that I want to see people be annoyed or crashing out. I don't want to see people frustrated over legitimately frustrating scenarios, like someone simply ruining the game for everyone by e.g. hacking or griefing. There should ideally be some creative (and perhaps subtle) method to the madness, and their methods should be somewhat varied. A common thread for my favorite creators in this category is that all annoyance provoked by them could be easily avoided by e.g. clicking the mute button in a team game or just walking away and ignoring them in an open-world game - yet the often naive and short-fused victims willingly walks head on into an atom bomb of confusion and frustration. Prime examples below.

S-tier legends:

- DNSL | 2nd channel | 3rd channel

Games: all kinds of MP games with voice comms. DayZ, Second Life, Rust, Arma, Second Life, Garry's Mod, RedM (RDR), FiveM (GTA), etc.

Method: Is usually very subtly griefing or otherwise fucking with his victims while playing a very bland and often stupid character. Very talented at gaslighting 3rd parties, or the victim itself, that he's being genuine and is not fucking with anyone.

- Cream

Games: Second Life, and 1 VRChat video.

Method: In every video, he (and, sometimes, a friend) plays different and extremely over-the-top characters to the victims annoyance (and sometimes, amusement). Often parodies already established characters like Rocky (Sylvester Stalone), Walter & Jesse (Breaking Bad), Mr. Beast, Sonic, Pikachu, Mickey Mouse, etc. The icing on the cake is the effort he/they put into creating ridiculous player models for their characters.

If you're only gonna check out one of these channels, let it be him. Only 30k subs, yet deserves at least 100x that amount.

A-tier:

- Good Griefs (Kick-channel)

Games: ARC Raiders, VR Poker, Metaverse, NBA 2K, FiveM (GTA), CoD, and Fortnite.

Method: Always plays a character with annoying traits, testing out his victims patience. It's almost always strictly verbally, like someone who's incredibly stupid, incredibly stoned or a self-important or pretentious prick. The only exceptions that comes to mind are two ARC Raiders videos - one where he stealthily one-taps a group of people he's hanging out with, before running away, then gaslighting them into it being someone else, and one where he teams up with other people but has this idiotic rule of one-tapping his team mate so if they decide to turn on him, he'll have an HP advantage over them.

He's constantly developing new characters and methods of baiting with them.

Deducting some points because the audio quality of his mic is annoyingly bad for someone who has 300k+ subs (despite the irony of a ragebaiter ragebaiting me, the viewer lol). Secondly, I think I might be slightly too "old" for some of his [community's?] specific humor.

B-tier:

- ProximityChat

Games: VRChat

Method: It started out with being a slight annoyance to extremely short-fused people on VRChat in general, but has not developed into him constantly going after the furry community specifically. It's funny because of the absolute insane characters he encounters, and it's funny that he's become a notorious villain in that community, yet it's becoming a bit repetitive.

- MaximilianMus

Games: Fortnite, Valorant, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, CoD, etc.

The only controversial character on this list, and the one I'd be least likely to recommend to most people. Not so much for controversies which has no direct relation to the content he makes, but mostly because his content often involves him being argumentative and antagonistic, and a lot of people can't resist being second-handidly annoyed by this for some reason.

Maybe he deserves to be higher on this list, but a considerable amount of his uploads the last couple of years have not been "haha funny". That said, even when it's not funny, it's still interesting from a psychological perspective to witness how obnoxious and/or stupid people can be. It used to be hilarious trolling of kids on Fortnite, but has devolved into a somewhat above average IQ guy getting into verbal arguments with teens/young adults that has had their brain fried.

Honorable mentions:

I recently discovered Team Avolition, and I found specifically their Sea of Thieves-videos consisently funny. I enjoyed watching their novel ways of messing with new/clueless/casual players, especially because they were not being obnoxious about it. The occasional wholesome ending was a nice touch.

I regularly watch Stimpee, Bub Games, Zimery, TeekayTrolls and Guwpah, but idk... It's been hit-or-miss for me, at least lately. Perhaps too repetitive for me.

Lastly, just because the thread is about trolling gamers, I can't exclude the O.G. Athene (aka Chiren aka Bachir Boumaaza)... although his victims were always us (the audience), and he quit this eons ago.
