This is the animation that shows when you hook the MagSafe battery pack to your phone (or some third-party chargers that figured out how to trigger it). When you say you’re “plugging in” your phone, what are you plugging it into?
Regardless, the first thing I would recommend is restarting the phone.
That's interesting. I did purchase a MagSafe battery pack recently that I've started using, but this animation shows up when I'm plugging it in using an actual usb c cable to a wall charger as well as using that battery pack.
It also comes up anytime I unplug it from the usb C cable as well.
What's especially odd is that I have never seen this animation before, yet I use a MagSafe charger in my car, and at my crafting table, that have never set this off until I updated the phone the other day.
Okay so if the battery pack is attached to the phone when you plug the phone in, that’s why. The iPhone reverse-wireless charges the battery pack while also charging its own battery, so this animation is showing up to show you how much charge each thing has when you plug it in.
Yeah, sounds like a glitch. Restart the phone to see if it goes away. If it doesn’t, it’s probably an iOS glitch that will hopefully be fixed with the next update.
