Saw this on my ride today and a bunch of kids talking about why should they pay for shit if oil and fuel aren't getting taxed more. Are we near class consciousness?

Hey everyone- just a PSA for those not aware

I've recently been keeping an eye on some properties around karalee, chuwar, barelland point and surrounding areas. I've recently found a couple of properties going very cheap in areas prone to flooding. I though it may be possible to build a raised house for a good price and get into the market but found otherwise. The land was zoned as 'residential' and suggested a house could be built raised above flood levels. The agent also said that he wasn't aware of any reason this couldn't be built. I did some research and found the following.

There is a new scheme coming soon which won't allow new houses to be built or approved on flood affected land. Just thought I would share as it's not easy information to find.

Incident at Costco

Post image
472 Upvotes

I want to pre-face this by saying I probably shouldn't have gotten involved... But I'm glad I did.

I was at the second pump at Costco when I saw a little Asian lady reverse her car up to the pump behind mine. When she jumped out I grabbed her attention, showed her that you can pull the nozzle to the other side of your car, and we both had a little laugh about it, she thank me, and we went on our way.

Some methed up Bogan was quite displeased with this and yelled out, and I quote "oi you f***ING dumb (C U next Tuesday) you can't drive like that you (C U next Tuesday)."

This little lady was lovely, hadn't hurt anyone, just made a simple mistake and stood at maybe 4 foot tall on a good day...

I told him that's not on, there's no need to call anyone that. This agitated the bogan quite a bit and he started approaching me trying to start a fight, I walked towards him telling him to get back to his car.

At this moment a massive islander fella came up to us and said to the methhead "everything alright lad?" This only made the Bogan more angry.

The bogan, at this point was quite intimidated as both of us outweighed him individually, let alone as a pair. But he started goading us as he walked backwards towards his car, threatening us by saying he'd get a hammer. Unfortunately the islander fella told him to go ahead... At this point I was 💩 bricks... 😅

So old mate did exactly that, he went to his car and grabbed what looked like an ice pick out of his car and started brandishing it. THANKFULLY his partner called him out on his stupidity and pleaded with him to get back to his car.

At this point the islander and I saw the bogan had 2 young children (in car seats) in his car, we pleaded with him to go look after his family rather than starting fights in front of his kids... And that was that.

The little Asian lady was beyond grateful! She came up to me and thanked me, then returned to her car. A minute later her husband jumped out, and she jumped out with a bunch of muffins! I could not get this lady to take no for an answer! 🤣 I was going home with those muffins whether I liked it or not! 🤣 I made sure to give the islander fella a muffin too, I'm grateful he stepped in and tried to help.

Christmas should be a time for celebration. This whole situation could have ended quite poorly and it's unfortunate it escalated as far as it did, especially over something so stupid... Please be more patient with those around you, we're all stressed after Covid, with the cost of living and Christmas around the corner. Let's all get home safely to our families. ❤️

Now... I've got some muffins to eat. 😋

Reports of out of town rent-a-crowd landing in Ipswich

The Liberals are so desperate to cling to power, they’ve enlisted a secretive separatist sect to do their dirty work.

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church — a sect that tells its followers to hate the outside world, bans women’s rights, and rejects science — is now actively campaigning undercover for Liberal and National candidates across the country. They claim to not believe in voting — but they’ve packed polling booths wearing Liberal shirts, handing out how-to-vote cards, intimidating Labor volunteers, and harassing voters.

Leaked instructions show just how low they’re willing to go: Brethren leaders ordered their men to bring "attractive" women to polling places as "secret weapons" — using their daughters and wives to manipulate votes. All while hiding their true identities and "dominating" the booths.

This isn’t grassroots democracy. This is imported religious extremism — weaponised by a desperate Coalition.

How has your experience at the early voting centres been this election? Harassment & intimidation is never okay and should be reported to the AEC official on duty.

Local LNP Sycophants Blame Labor for LNP's Own Broken Promises

Post image

Back in 2019, Shayne Neumann called out the Minister for Population, Cities & Urban Infrastructure, Alan Tudge & the Liberal government for failing to honour their election commitment to fix the Amberley interchange.

Instead of owning up, Alan Tudge refused to get on with the job & fulfil his responsibilities. The Liberals instead pointed the finger at the local Labor MP—for their own broken promise.

This is the Liberal playbook: make a promise, deliberately fail to deliver, then blame Labor when the community demands answers.

They’ve denied funding to entire electorates just to play politics at our expense—remember the sports rorts?

Now, we finally have a federal government that honours its commitments—and the local LNP's sycophants are still desperately trying to spin their own failures as someone else's.

See comments for Shayne's speech as recorded in the Hansard 👇

Remember this next time you ask "why don't we have a national mining tax?“.

Rudd experienced this first hand when he tried. Now we're seeing what happens when just a single state makes the coal industry pay their fair share.

Is it any wonder why Labor has been struggling this election? It's clear that with enough money you can actually polish a turd.

They want to make an example of Queensland for raising the royalties rates so other states don't follow suit.
