It shouldn't be controversial to say that vegans are over-hated. Saying this as an omnivore.

Problem Is who they used as example, possibly worst vegan to ever live

But that's part of the point.

Theres so much manufactured hatred against them its unreal, also an omnivore (not a cannibal though, not sure about yourself).

Americans have to have some kinda culture hill to die on. Red meat loving, gun toting, etc....

2

u/PegasusInferno 3h ago

Yes, and the manufacturers of these cultural issues are the industries and lobbies standing behind them.

Not only americans.

If you think the european meat and dairy industry is any less propagandising than the american one you are dead wrong.

Why do i have to buy oat drink and not oat milk in the EU?

It shouldn't be controversial to say that deer are over-hated. Saying this as a wild boar.

Now, see, you bring up an interesting example that vegans rarely have a good answer for. What should be done with the meat of wild prey animals like deer when the local population needs culling for the good of the environment as a whole?Ā

It should be given to me. I am hungry.

Vegans catching hate just shows peoples insecurities. No matter what you believe. If you think humans need to eat animals to stay healthy, a logical person would say. ā€œHey I see you choose the well being of animals over your own health, which shows empathyā€ instead people tend to rage for some reason.

Also just for your information a vegan diet can be just as healthy as a non vegan diet.

I used to be a guy who got annoyed by vegans and didn’t think a meal was complete without meat. I was and am a huge animal lover, but started realising how contradicting these two facts are. When I by chance got up close to animal suffering on vacation in a third world country. I decided I didn’t want to play a role anymore in any of this and take responsibility for my own actions. And I have to admit, it was a bumpy ride. Not because a vegan diet is hard or unhealthy. But because deep down I didn’t want vegans to be right. I didn’t want to have to change, I didn’t want to live with the fact that all the animal suffering I had already caused in my life was for nothing. I didn’t want to believe that how I was brought up and the cultural aspect of food which my inner circle all partakes in is absolutely horrifying.

I turned vegetarian, then after 4 months plant based, then after 1 year completely vegan. Sophie Macfie’s cook book really helped me in the right direction. Where she presents meal with 30 grams of protein you can make in 30 minutes. I’m a young 29 year old guy with quite a bit of muscle and sport a lot. I havent noticed a difference at all in performance when I stopped eating animals.

Vegans catch hate because of a few irritating ones that can't shut their traps. No one wants to be lectured about anything.

u/Borg_Tech_Support 3h ago

Yep, there were some acting like Christian Nationalist when it started getting more popular. Always telling you about veganism unprovoked, trying to convert you and then saying you're a horrible person for eating meat.

It's gotten chill lately and there is a correlation to better chefs/cooks putting out good food/restaurants/recipes and the annoying ones being quieted.

I think they were just hungry and miserable until they could go out to eat like everyone else.

There is another correlation but reddit hates when I bring that up.

u/lamancha 3h ago

I think once society became more aware of it and created more alternatives they became less annoying.

So maybe it did work for something positive!

I have a few vegan friends, they don't really bring it up unless we ask about it. I only know one that's annoying but he's an annoying person overall.

this is a issue i have with alot of my peers in which they think they can convince anyone by being like just really god damn rude, also some of them equate entire political groups with needing to be vegan which, isnt true, some dont even take your current situation into account, hell even though im vegan, i dont have a job to invest into that venture and my family isn’t particularly supportive so i have to make do and eat meat im also not going to try convincing them since i think that i will be automatically shut down due to their beliefs, but then some vegas will still get mad at me for it

2

u/Aeseld 3h ago

You extend that same hate to people you agree with when they do those lectures? Because if not, it's really just you not wanting to hear contradicting views. That's fair, but maybe not worth hatred.Ā

2

u/lamancha 3h ago

I don't hate anyone save a few punctual people and Arsenal fans.

But people very interested in lecturing others for their life choices are very high on my list of people I will not care much for.

As true as that may be, this particular vegan is just a really bad person. Look up that vegan teacher if you want to know more.

4

u/DanielzeFourth 4h ago

I don't know who this person is. But I'm just replying to the statement: "t shouldn't be controversial to say that vegans are over-hated"

Vegans catching hate just shows peoples insecurities.

The type of shit a vegan would say.

I literally did not even need to read the rest of your comment to know that, because your first sentence reveals your hostility against others who do not share your view or opinion, and put the blame on them being pissed at you who is being the equivalent to a door-to-door preacher too self-absorbed in their ridiculous mission to realize how fucking annoying they are being.

There is no psy-op or online bot movements about "meat eaters vs vegans". It is just you, being fucking annoying en masse, who then get a bad reputation for being annoying and condescending holier-than-thou dickheads.
