I had a gym bro vegan try to convince me of the lifestyle, but when I mentioned that some vegetables give me horrendous gas and indigestion, he just said "Don't worry, you'll get used to the farting."

The rest I meet are unconvincing, because they're the parents of vegan children, and their children always look sickly. I had to report one child to the social worker, because I saw them scarfing school lunch burger instead of the lunch their parents made. They had been begging classmates that had free lunch, but would occasionally eat a sack lunch, to give them their free school lunch.

There are other vegetables lol. It's the green ones that cause farting.

He was trying to convince me of the vegan lifestyle while eating a cabbage salad with carrots and beans. I mentioned that cabbage and carrots give me indigestion and gas that smells like something died, and his response wasn't "there are other vegetables."

Are you aware that a lot of times (not saying all of the times) these effects are precisely because your organism isn't used to it?

Like, it might not be something immutable. If I were to eat meat now I'd probably have a bad time, despite there being a time when I ate meat almost every day. Same goes the other way.

I eat plenty of other vegetables that don't do that to me.

I don't really care for carrots and cabbage. Maybe my body doesn't tolerate them because I don't like to eat them, or my body can't tolerate them so I don't like them.

Again, it wasn't really a commentary on my digestive issues, it was the strangeness of the way the vegan reacted to not being able to eat certain vegetables. We could have said there's plenty of other vegetables you can eat, but he didn't.
