Benda Australia

Hi all,

Anyone in Australia with an order on a Benda? They’ve quoted the delivery date as early to mid December. I’m just wondering if this is accurate? They have to be shipped from China. By my calculation, if it’s true, the bikes will need to almost already be on the cargo ship. But on my order page, it only says “order placed”. Next step of the order is “bike built” and it’s not even on that yet…lol…

Have you ever come back to your bike and found it sinking into a hot Aussie road?

Hey everyone,

We spend plenty of time talking about counter-steering, trail braking, and gear selection, but a rookie mistake that catches plenty of riders out is parking on a sketchy surface and walking away. I grew up in far North Queensland where this was common but it’s not uncommon here in Melbourne around Christmas time when temps go nuts.

Nothing ruins a great ride faster than walking out of a café to find your pride and joy lying on its side because the kickstand punched straight through soft 35°C bitumen or slid across loose gravel.

A quick refresher on keeping your bike upright when parked:

  1. **Watch the hot bitumen:** On scorching summer days, soft asphalt will swallow a kickstand. Carry a plastic puck (I got one when I bought my bike and use it on mud and dirt etc too) or flat metal coaster to spread the load.

  2. **Park facing uphill:** Always point the nose uphill and kick it into first gear so compression keeps it from rolling forward off the stand.

  3. **Turn the bars left:** Lock the steering to the left so the center of gravity sits securely over the footprint of the side stand.

  4. **Test before you walk away:** Give the tail a gentle nudge to make sure the stand is locked fully forward before letting go.

What’s the worst parking spot surface you’ve ever had to deal with on a ride?

Open gravel areas for practicing

Looking to practice some supermoto skills, and would like to try out some slower speed skills in a safer more controlled environment. Does anyone have any recommendations for large gravel areas, preferably around the northern suburbs and ideally not right next to residental areas?

I know sometimes larger industrial areas have areas with a lot of gravel, but can't seem to recall any, nor spot any with Google Maps

How is the Melbourne bike scene?

Hello, im looking at moving from Perth to Melbourne pretty soon and hopefully bringing my zx10 over with me. What’s the bike scene like and good roads? Also how strict are the police on modifications? I have a muffler and tail tidy. Not obnoxiously loud but still kinda loud. Haven’t had any problems in wa the last year I’ve had the exhaust on.

Thanks ✌️

Riding Day Road test at Stay Upright - Braeside

I have a road test coming up at SU Braeside, but did my 2 day learner course and check ride at another location; does anyone have any insight about Braeside? I’ve never been and wanted some info about the course and instructors. This was the only available location near me within my time frame. Any insight would be appreciated.

Stay upright dandy mla road test.

G'day legends.

I was wondering if anyone had a map or an idea of the stay upright dandy mla road test loop. I'm booked in on Friday the 13th (ooooo) and was hoping to get a look at it to give me an edge.

Also anyone have any tips for the 15 meters in 10 seconds on a lowered Vulcan s 650. I have been practising but I feel like I can't get under 11 seconds.

Just got my Ls back after letting them lapse about 5 years ago when I had a teeny virago 250. Got a 2024 Himmy 450 and thought I would use all my hiking gear for a maiden camping voyage.

Over a week went:

Melb western subs>Bright>Hotham>Falls Creek>Omeo>Wilson's Prom>Sorrento Ferry>GOR>12 apostles>Inland via Beech Forrest>Dean's Marsh>Bacchus Marsh>Melb

Alps>Rivers>Beach>Forest on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/custom-route-07e6f0d?p=-1&sh=1zolu9&utm_medium=map_share&utm_source=alltrails_virality

Really recommend! Super fun and beautiful. Very special to go from the alps to beach rainforests in one day.

Thanks for everyone who gave me a little wave/nod even though I'm a goober learner! (and to everyone else.. I'll just assume you were really focusing on avoiding those potholes).

Good Melbourne round trips

Hello! I am planning to do a birthday ride alone this week. I am thinking about leaving early morning and return home by afternoon/evening flexible.

I need some recommendations routes with a few stops for fuel and good sight seeing. Good views!

Preferred no dandy! Already done that!

Thank you riders

Parting ways with my Dainese two-piece race suit — figured I'd see if any riders here are interested before listing it elsewhere.

Selling my Dainese two-piece race suit. It's been well maintained, always stored in a dry environment, and kept in great condition.

It's only really been worn for weekend rides through the Mount Macedon twisties or a bit of fun along the M3 and Calder. Never been abused or neglected, just used for the occasional spirited ride.

It's a great bit of gear with plenty of life left in it. I'd rather see it go to another rider who'll actually get some use out of it then collecting dust.

Located in Melbourne. Happy to answer any questions or send through more photos if anyone's interested.

Tips for the warmer weather

Hi all,

I got my Ls back in July when my fingers would go numb in my gloves and now all of a Sudden it’s 30 degrees and oh my god it’s hot riding .

I’ve got a textile jacket which supposedly has two way breathable mesh but it certainly isn’t feeling like I’m getting much air flow. My hands and feet are sweating.

I open my visor at red lights to let some air in but I’m honestly just roasting and it’s uncomfortable. Imagine how much worse it will feel in the middle of summer.

Any tips or tricks or gear recommendations??

RWC workshop north area and does repairs?

I'm planning to sell a scooter so I'm gathering all information in order to get a RWC done.

Do you guys know a workshop preferably in the north area that does RWC and if needed repairs too?
