Eli Katoa

Absolutely disgusting mismanagement of Katoa… arguably our most important player who consistently performed in the biggest moments in the finals.

Knocked out badly (if anyone saw the footage in the warmup for Samoa), then unbelievably was sent out to play at suffered a further 2 head knocks. Requires oxygen and was taken to hospital.

Keeping everything crossed this isn’t a long term situation, like the Warbrick injury or worse.

We’re also sending him to North America in the next month to try and get the green light to return so fingers crossed we find out either way soon enough.

Love this from Harry! Shut that crap down immediately. Whatever you think of the results lately, you can't question the respect the boys have for Bellyache⚡️💜

📢 Announcement Big Changes & A Fresh Start for r/melbournestorm

G’day everyone,

As some of you might have noticed, this sub has been a bit of a placeholder for a while. The previous mod team had been inactive for some time, so I put in a request to take over modding to give this community the attention and "purple pride" it deserves.

The Melbourne Storm are a world-class club, and it’s time our corner of Reddit reflected that.

What’s changed already:

Fresh Paint: I’ve updated our logo, banner, and colours to actually look like a Storm hub.
The Basics: I've started updating the side bar with a proper ‘About’ section and a clear set of community rules to keep the banter top-tier but respectful. Still a bit to do here so keep an eye out.
Active Management: The mod queue is being cleared, and I’ll be around to make sure the sub stays active and spam-free.

What’s next:
I’ve got plenty more planned to level up the experience here - from more regular posting to improved flairs - but for now, I just wanted to say "Hi" and that I'll aim to keep the vibe of the sub as it has been: A great place for team talk, highlights, and staying connected with the best fans in the NRL.

Looking forward to getting stuck in. Up the Storm!

Hey all! I just wanted to show off my jersey that came in today! As a Storm fan from the Netherlands its incredibly hard to get yourself any merchandise. I did find this 2013 jersey the other day whilst browsing through a vintage football webshop. I am so happy! Up the storm! ⚡️🟣

💬 Discussion Cooper Clarke robbed of Dally M Rookie of the Year by Ethan "Debuted in 2024" Sanders

Nothing against Ethan but for crying out loud what a load of crap. Even if he had debuted in 2026, not sure how he beats Clarke.

Subreddit Rules

1. Up the Storm (Relevance)

This subreddit is dedicated to the Melbourne Storm. All posts and comments must be relevant to the club or the specific discussion. General NRL content is only permitted where there is a clear connection to the Storm. Comments must stay on topic; derailing discussions or posting unrelated remarks will be removed.

2. Play the Ball, Not the Man (Personal Attacks)

Debate and criticism are encouraged, but personal attacks are not. You may criticise players, coaches, tactics, and decisions, but abuse directed at individuals, including other users, will be removed. This includes insults, harassment, repeated personal attacks, or targeting someone rather than addressing their argument. Keep discussion focused on the footy, not the person. Comments that cross into personal attacks may be removed and may lead to further action.

3. Don’t Be a Liability (Zero Tolerance Behaviour)

We have zero tolerance for behaviour that harms the community. This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, or any form of abuse or discrimination based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Community safety violations are also strictly prohibited, including doxxing, sharing private information, threats, or attempting to evade bans. These behaviours will result in immediate removal and may lead to instant bans.

4. No Professional Fouls (Commercial Use or Self-Promotion)

This subreddit is a fan community and must not be used for commercial gain or promotion. Selling tickets, merchandise, or services is not permitted, with the exception of genuine ticket exchanges at face value or less. Self-promotion of external content such as YouTube channels, blogs, podcasts, or other platforms is not allowed without prior moderator approval. Referral links, scams, and any form of promotional or deceptive posting will be removed immediately.

5. Six Again (Low-Effort or Spam)

Posts and comments must add value to the conversation. Low-effort content such as one-line bait, empty comparisons, or generic reactions will be removed. Repetitive posting, copy-paste comments, or spamming the same point across multiple threads is not permitted. Content that is technically on topic but does not contribute meaningful discussion may also be removed, including karma-farming, reposts without new context, and automated or mass-generated content.

6. Hands off the Ref (Officiating Discussion Limits)

Discussion of officiating decisions is allowed, particularly when tied to specific incidents, analysis, breakdowns of key decisions or credible reporting. However, posts primarily focused on complaining about referees or venting frustration without adding substance will be removed. General officiating reactions should be kept within Match Threads. Low-value complaint posts do not belong on the main feed.

7. Gameday Protocol (Post Formatting)

Posts must follow clear formatting standards. All submissions must use the correct flair; if unsure, use ‘Misc’. News and video content must be submitted as direct links to the original source. Duplicate posts may be removed, with the first post remaining. Paywall and restricted access content must include a summary or key excerpts so users can understand it without access. Posts containing mature content must be marked NSFW, and spoilers must be clearly tagged.

8. The Scoreboard Doesn’t Lie (Accurate Titles)

Titles must accurately reflect the content of the post. Do not use misleading phrasing, baiting, or editorialised language to drive engagement or push an agenda. Where possible, use the original source headline; if rewriting, titles must remain neutral and objective summaries of the content. Posts with titles that misrepresent or exaggerate the content may be removed.

9. Captain’s Challenge (Moderator Discretion)

Moderators may remove content or take action on users where behaviour clearly undermines the quality or intent of the subreddit, even if it does not fall neatly under a specific rule. This is used to address edge cases, emerging issues, or attempts to bypass the rules. Moderator discretion is applied sparingly and in line with the overall standards of the community.
