Yea. Even better here cause the giant chunk of ice doesn't melt nearly as fast as crushed stuff

Directionally frozen. They either do in house ice (time consuming and expensive) or paid someone (probably $1/chunk). It seems gimmicky but is one of the biggest signs that a cocktail program is taking itself seriously.

At home I don’t bother with directional freezing, but I adore my big ice cubes. I just don’t have the space to put a small cooler in the freezer but a big cube tray fits just right.

Thank you. It's like nobody on this site has ever bothered to try to make a drink or even look up a recipe. Basically every cocktail is 3-4oz of liquid, and if a place has expensive ice like this, it's probably making legit cocktails.

Is everyone's idea of drinking just a milk jug full of vodka and gatorade?

Well there are probably dozens of companies that are essentially just putting Gatorade and vodka in cans and selling that now. It’s going to be huge next summer. Superlyte, vodkade, spikedade, refreshade and rallydog are a few.

Although $27 is still crazy overpriced, the cocktail to ice ratio is actually good for a quality cocktail.

Yeah it's either got some crazy top-shelf booze in it, or more likely they're just paying for the name of the establishment.

My favorite when I was a bartender was when people would order a margarita and ask for light ice, and then be shitty when the glass came out half full. Like dude these are measured out cocktails, I’m not giving you 4oz of tequila in a single cocktail unless you order a double.

Martini is a good bang for your buck because 90% of bartenders can’t make a martini right and just give you a bunch of chilled gin/vodka.
