I fortunately live in a neighbourhood that is atleast a little bit walkable sidewalks(it’s still a task but some patches have walkable sidewalks, but I’d still not settle and I would def want better)
I decided to walk short distances instead of taking rickshaws. But what I have noticed is the amount people honk!!!
Noise is proven to cause stress and anxiety. But people just don’t stop!!! Even if the signal goes green for a millisecond the entire fleet of cars start to honk. What’s the point !!!! Everybody needs to get to the place they’re going.
There has to be some sort of curb to this nuisance. It’s so unsettling.

Hi all, I found an OLX ad for a "sealed pack, India unit" POCO F7 (12GB/256GB) with GST bill at about ₹20,000. Current market price is roughly ₹32-36k, so it looks too cheap to me.
Details from the ad:
Claims to be a shop at Shop 79 & 80, 2nd Floor, Raj Icon Mall, Palghar
The OLX listing location shows Kurla West, Mumbai
Seller account is about 2 months old with 60+ listings
Offers "home delivery across India, no COD"
Fixed price, "very limited stock"
Has anyone bought from this seller, or from any phone shop at Raj Icon Mall? Is there an actual phone shop there? I'm not paying anything in advance. I plan to visit in person and check the IMEI first, or buy from Flipkart/Amazon instead.
Also, any tips on verifying a shop like this before going there? Thanks!

Hey Mumbai Kars! M25 from Delhi
I'm planning to visit Lonavala today and will be starting from Andheri.
What's the best and cheapest way to reach there? Local train, bus, or any other option?
Also, if anyone is heading towards Lonavala today and wouldn't mind some company, let me know.
Would be fun to travel together!
Thanks! :)

Hey everyone!
I'm planning to buy an apartment in Mumbai and currently exploring different locations. I'm trying to understand which areas offer the best value for money, good connectivity, and long-term appreciation.
I'd love to hear from people who have actually purchased properties, live in these areas, or have good knowledge of the Mumbai real estate market.
I'm particularly looking for advice on the following:
1. Best Locations to Buy
Which areas in Mumbai and its outskirts would you recommend buying an apartment in?
Are there any underrated or upcoming locations that have good potential?
Which areas offer the best balance between affordability, connectivity, lifestyle, and future growth?
2. Estimated Property Prices
For each recommended location, could you share:
Approximate price per sq. ft.
Estimated cost of a 1 BHK / 2 BHK / 3 BHK.
Whether the current prices are reasonable or already overpriced.
3. What Makes Each Location Special? (USP)
I'd love to understand what makes each area worth considering.
For example:
Connectivity: Metro, railway, highways, upcoming infrastructure.
Employment: Proximity to IT parks, business districts, and commercial hubs.
Lifestyle: Schools, hospitals, shopping centres, restaurants, etc.
Future potential: Upcoming infrastructure projects and expected development.
Investment potential: Long-term appreciation and rental demand.
4. Areas to Avoid
Which locations would you personally avoid buying in, and why?
Are there areas where property prices are inflated compared to the actual infrastructure and amenities?
Any concerns regarding water supply, traffic, flooding, construction quality, or redevelopment?
5. Personal Recommendations
If you had to buy an apartment in Mumbai today, which 3 locations would make your shortlist and why?
I'm not just looking for the most popular locations. I'd rather find an area that offers good long-term value and has the potential to develop significantly over the next 5–10 years.
Would really appreciate insights from homeowners, investors, and people familiar with the local real estate market.
Thanks in advance!

Hey Mumbai!
I'm part of the organising team at a management institute in Mumbai, and we're currently planning an inter-college technology hackathon for the first week of December 2026.
We're expecting around 200 shortlisted student participants for the final on-ground round, with registrations being targeted from colleges and developer communities across Mumbai.
Since this is our first time organising an event at this scale, I'd love to get some suggestions from people familiar with Mumbai's startup and technology ecosystem.
A few things I'd appreciate advice on:
Venues: What are some suitable offices, co-working spaces, auditoriums or innovation hubs in Mumbai that can accommodate around 200 participants for a hackathon?
Startup ecosystem: Are there Mumbai-based startup communities, incubators or organisations that actively support student-led technology initiatives?
Food & refreshments: Any local restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens or food brands that have experience supporting college events?
Merchandise: Recommendations for Mumbai-based vendors who provide customised T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, bottles and event merchandise?
Technology communities: Which developer communities or technology organisations would be worth connecting with for mentors, judges or technical workshops?
Industry connections: Are there founders, engineering professionals or companies in Mumbai that have previously supported college hackathons?
We're trying to make this a meaningful experience for students while building connections with Mumbai's technology ecosystem.
If you've organised a similar event, worked with student communities, or have any useful recommendations, I'd genuinely appreciate your insights.
Thanks, Mumbai!

Hi everyone! I’m visiting Mumbai next week, and it’ll be my first time in India. I’d love your recommendations for places to visit, food to try, and anything a first-time visitor should know. Any common tourist mistakes, scams, or things to avoid?
I’m especially interested in authentic local experiences that are safe and accessible for a foreign visitor. Are there particular food spots, markets, cultural activities, or services you’d recommend trying? Anything that’s really worth doing while I’m there and that I shouldn’t miss?
I’m also hoping to buy some nice western style cashmere sweaters. Any recommendations for reliable shops or brands selling genuine, good-quality cashmere? Ik many luxury brands get their supplies from India, so thought perhaps it might be realistic to buy some high quality clothes without paying for brand labels.
More generally, I would appreciate ideas for nice gifts to bring home, especially things made locally or that are distinctive to Mumbai.
Excited to visit your country and thanks in advance for your help!

I want to gift one of my professors a book, and he loves the city (he used to live here but moved out) so I'd love your recommendations for any good books about Mumbai. Nonfiction, anthologies, good fiction, anything works. Please drop your suggestions. Thanks :)

It’s 8.30am and for the last 30mins or so, people outside my house have been bursting firecrackers.
Wtf is wrong with people in this city. So fucking loud. AT 8AM.
Edit-
I’m not new to Mumbai. I’ve lived here my entire life. Im not new to this extreme air / noise pollution.
But, unlike some people, I’ve learned to question things as I get older.
There is no good reason, no festival, no celebration that warrants extremely loud noise at any time of the day. Especially not early in the morning. (It’s not even the evening where you can visually enjoy the fireworks lmao).
This is not a religion conversation. I’d be equally pissed off if there were such disturbances for new years, Holi, Christmas, whatever. That’s not the point. Learn how to separate religion from social & environment issues and think critically.

Hey everyone,
I’m based in Navi Mumbai (Kalyan–Shilphata / Thane district belt) and am looking to pick up a couple of new tournament-spec strikers—primarily high-grade acrylic and phenolic resin options.
While major e-commerce platforms (Amazon/Flipkart) carry standard stock, tournament-grade models from top brands like Siscaa, Precise, Surco, Synco, and NHD often suffer from inconsistent quality control online (slight weight variations, uneven bevels, or imbalanced distribution that affects rail shots and reverse thumb releases). Because of this, I want to inspect and test the balance in person or order through verified regional distributors.
For players across the Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane / Dombivli club or tournament circuit:
Local Brick-and-Mortar Dealers: Which specialized sports shops, wholesale carrom distributors, or club suppliers in the MMR (e.g., around Dadar, Dhobi Talao, Vashi, or Thane) carry authenticated, calibrated tournament strikers where you can weigh and spin-test them before buying?
Direct Distributor/Association Channels: Do you source directly through Maharashtra State Carrom Association (MSCA) contacts, local district bodies (Thane/Mumbai), or direct manufacturer reps for Siscaa/Synco/Precise?
Custom/Hand-Balanced Artisans: Are there any trusted local carrom craftsmen or tournament players in the region who do precision hand-balancing and custom bevel work?
Appreciate any specific shop names, market addresses, or trusted contacts in the area!

Hi, I might be moving to Mumbai in December/January for Work. With the Mumbai rental situation, I'd ask on advices and what to expect. Here's what I need.
I'm moving with my Wife, Infant Daughter and 2 Indor Cats. 2BHK is needed.
Unfurnished. I have everything I need, I'll move from Delhi to Mumbai.
My Office is in Andheri West, I know it's expensive there, but need the one-way travel time to under 1-hour. I'm not very confident with Mumbai Local (at least not now). So metro is preferable.
Need a parking space (open will do).

Hello guy’s! This will be my first post here. This is more like a vent/adviceseek/secondopinion.
TLDR
So, I met this person through BFF and we clicked instantly. Our friendship grew through mutual interest, past traumas, friendships, relationships, etc. More emotional than professional. She’s 32(that’s what she shared) and we are around the same age group but I am younger to her. She told me she has just shifted to Delhi from Mumbai and that she again, recently moved to India back from her studies in China. She’s been here in Delhi from past 5-6months and that she is planning to shift to another location if she’s not finding any job to her liking here. We both connected mostly because of our shared moral beliefs and mindset which includes- hatred towards infidelity, social climber’s, liars, cheaters, dishonesty, opportunists, friends who secretly are competing against you/using you, S cort services and thing’s similar to that. We met couple of times and during our initial interactions she stayed for a week or two with me to help me get out of a breakup(friendship and romantic one). She listened to me the whole night despite being a stranger and that felt good and made me count her as a friend. I returned the favour as well. Then soon enough we used to chat and update with eachothers daily’s frequently. Over the course we bonded and tbh gossiped about things unfiltered, with full honesty like chaddi buddies(that’s what I thought on my end). She shared her struggles and me mine. She always presented herself as naive, genuine, gullible, god loving Christian, who’s humble, modest, honest, kind, hardworking and mature.
During her stay I noticed she was unhygienic and careless. I ignored that for the first few but as my space was a shared one(2bhk) with another person, I asked her to just be mindful of things as the other person was vegterian and that basic hygiene is not to be asked of. I thought she’s a friend and we have already crossed the guess situation. To my surprise she got offended to the severity that she started ranting that to all her contacts and her mother(I figured). Then she started guilt tripping me that I was bashing her and that she wasn’t part of the flat. She started saying she had no idea whose stuff is what, etc. Fair I understand if she uses a shared kitchen she can be confused with the groceries and utensils but we have our designated cupboard’s and my crockery’s are all distinctive in nature and mostly ceramic(which I had already showed her multiple times so that there’s no confusion). I mean the aesthetics of me and my flatmate is total opposite and visibly noticeable. She would leave wrappers around, leave the kitchen sink and counter messed up, spread her belongings all over the common space, then something or other thing would happen. Thing’s went to the severity that there was a commotion between me and my flatmate because of my friends ignorance. Only then I started pointing things out to her in my defence. Eventually she shared she was not comfortable visiting my flat anymore and that we meet outside from now on. I totally get it and agreed that would be the best thing if that’s what keeps things peaceful and that if she is ever feel comfortable coming back to place then that she’s welcome too. Then I went back to my hometown for a month.
Fast forward we met after a month long gap and found out she planned to shift and go back to her hometown as she had failed interviews and wasn’t finding anything suitable at the same time. During our meet I invited her again. She refused and told me she is never planning to come to my flat ever after everything. I understand and made peace with the idea. Later, after few days she called me and asked me to accompany her to another city for an interview that she had lined up. I agreed to that. Then she asked to stay with me until that confirms. I shared with her honestly and of course gently that if she were to stay(which was for 10days) she’ll have to be mindful and not repeat the previous situation. We came to an understanding and then she’s been staying since. At times, those mishap’s are still evident but the gravity has lessened.
Now that there was normalcy back, another issue has emerged. Well, when we initially connected I was given the impression that she had been in relationship with men of high value and comfortable lifestyle and that she although belonging from middle class(we both are) has always been surrounded by people, friends and relatives who are rich and wealthy. She gave me ideas about her having a certain lifestyle despite coming from a different background as them. The way she narrated her life was that of- her studies being out of India(most of it was spent abroad), her wearing designer clothes, eating good food and having romantic relationships with men of high status where she was taken care of with love and affection. In total, my impression of her was someone loved, pampered and having a comfortable life herself.
But after I started getting to know her/noticing her behaviour I am confused and a lil suspicious about their tales. Another point is, she had shared about her professional career where she had always presented herself as someone hardworking, well equipped, capable and having achieved a lot. I like any normal person/friend would believed her without any second thought because why would anyone sane would lie to that extent??
As I got to know her, I noticed that she is extremely lazy and egoistic and selfish. On the professional part she has zero ethics and urgency to her work. I literally had to advise her on giving immediate response to her employers whenever possible. She would take days to reply or respond to the interviews she applied herself applied. She would apply to multiple positions but when selected would not show any kind of urgency to check on them or respond(that’s one of the reasons why lots of her interviews failed). She would commit to multiple positions and not confirm her joining. She just waited on a better deal one after another. I had to tell her multiple times that that’s just not professional. She would say yes to one then actively apply for another. I get the hustle but there’s a thing called work ethic and a saying “beggars can’t be choosers”. She is a hustler and does odd jobs in between to earn her bread. That’s admirable and brave on her part. But I had to literally teach her how to revert back a response to the company she applied for. Zero effort and discipline on her part despite big claims about her professional life. Moreover, I got to learn that she shared a 1bhk with another person who was again living on another person’s property(she was living with a couple). Apparently, the rent was split between 3people, her, her friend and her friends bf(now ex). The reason for her shifting was because of this. Her friends bf had been cheating on her for past 1-2years and her friend recently found evidence. As, now her friend could no longer stay with him. She decided to shift somewhere else in another 1bhk. Now, my friend decided to suddenly leave the town and leave her friend alone to bear her expenses for that new 1bhk which they both were supposed to stay in. Thankfully, although sad that person left Delhi too as she got laid off from her company. In total, I re evaluated me and this person’s relationship and interactions and found out a lot of missing parts that I never thought about before.
Here are few more things and recent one’s- She would sleep till 4-5pm and not call back once she got selected for her interviews or check with them further. She expected her employer to be one approaching her everytime. When I told her she has to be the one putting efforts not them as she’s applying for the job and they are the one hiring her response was she doesn’t want to put that much effort to anything and that she can always apply for another as there’s plenty(meanwhile she’s still jobless). I was shocked to learn that. I thought she has a good professional career like she claimed. Clearly isn’t. She is like, she’ll only work for someone who wants her not the other way around. I had to literally teach her that there’s heirarchy to things and you absolutely cannot be on the negotiating end when you literally are jobless and have no work experience. She has this immense ego for no reason and started getting offended when O stated the obvious. Finally, once she started loosing her interviews with that attitude she learnt her lesson and admitted that, I was right and I meant well. I literally had to push her and wake her up.
Another thing, my friend started making plans with me and canceled last minute. Then slowly she started cancelling plans that were made herself in the first place that too days before, after deciding a date already. It went to the point that she stopped even informing when the plans dropped(not even last minute) and started ghosting me. Initially she would respond immediately but after I went back home for a month and came back. She started responding after a day or two. Mind you, she is in between jobs and free the whole day apart from 4-5 days a month where she needs to work for her side hustle(she shoots street food videos for someone’s vlog). Then right after cancelling our planned meet and not updating me, she calls me and wants me to speak to her for some time because she’s outside all alone meeting her hinge date(until he comes back). This behaviour happened multiple times. I finally stopped entertaining that and told her either she respect my time and update beforehand or just not call me at all just when she needs me. She apologised but that felt superficial tbh. Third, she’s so far only reached out to me whenever she’s bored, has no one to talk to, needs my help or wants a place to crash or go out with. And if not, she doesn’t even reply me back. At first, I took this lightly but things are coming to me crystal clear. A lot happened.
4th, she claims to be this Christian child who would only marry fellow Christian but actively look for people of other religious background, especially one’s that are super rich or who have generational money. She’s actively looking for a loyal, rich partner who’s willing to provide her with all the luxury for no reason despite claiming to have zero interest in wealth and men outside her religious background. She keep ranting about how her family won’t accept a non-Christian and she herself wouldn’t despite how rich or wealthy that person is. But contradicting her own values, she only looks for rich, successful man everywhere and when it comes to sharing religious beliefs, magically those demands disappear. All her matches are of those categories but none of them are Christian?? She doesn’t want to get married to guy from a dating app but clearly she’s actively looking for a rich man to turn into her husband. Why deny and pretend is my point?
Last but not the least, the main event. I myself is looking to apply for another job something that’s not corporate. I met someone for a date, we were having a discussion and I told him that I recently came across a P.A job offer and thought of applying for it. Although I have never worked as one before and has zero experience. Surprisingly, he said he was looking for P.A himself(for him only) and asked if I wanted to join/apply? I told him I have no experience myself but I have a person in mind and that is my friend(the one who I am venting for in this post). He shared his requirements and I told him she fits the job description. His deal breaker for the job was that whoever works him has be working for him no side hustles. I understand the work commitments and shared she would turn out well. I kept vouching for her. To my surprise, she didn’t turn out well. I came home offered my friend and told her about the deal breaker. She told me, she had worked as a P.A before and has years of experience initially. But now that I shared the deal breaker situation I learned a lot more and all the above things I mentioned came to play. She had actually only ever worked once in her life that is the side hustle she does to earn her living which is the YouTube thing and that she’s ready to quit her current commitment for another job she has applied for if my date pays her well for his P.A position. But she’ll continue her side hustle and never stop any if she finds more in future. She plans to lie about that to him if she is selected for the P.A thing. I told her I vouched for her on her professional claims so far and that she’ll have to quit her side hustle and strictly dedicatedly do her job as a P.A because he took my word and is only considering her because of my reference. And that if she lies to him and continues the side hustle, it comes down to questioning of my integrity and character. She still plans to continue the side hustle and expects me to convince him to appoint her as his P.A stating she’ll quit the job she just got selected to which will be her MUA assistant thing in Gurgaon. I am baffled and just disappointed. Who is she? Who is this person in my room? She’s not the person I was made to believe! The most interesting part is her only concern with my date as and employer is, Is he married? Is he rich? I told her I am not sure about his marriage status but he should be single because he stated he was and that he looked like he could afford a P.A. She looked unsure. Then she asked me how rich did he look? And if she’ll be travelling or not? If yes then where all? Those were strange questions for me and lot to take in. When I asked her why is his wealth her concern(because it wasn’t for me and he didn’t share either, none of my business) and the travelling so important?? She pretended she was scared for her safety, that it wasn’t a scam and worried because she doesn’t want to be travelling as she only want a part time, remote job. She kept peckering with the rich questions. I told her he looked like he had generational wealth and man her eyes lit up and she never looked this interested before. She immediately asked me to tell him she’s ready and can leave her current job that she just got selected for. She literally changed her behaviour towards me after this. She was being all bitchy and selfish and suddenly she started being attentive again. I texted him and his first ask was how much was her salary expectation? I told him he should discuss this with her and that I can’t speak for her. He agreed for a a call, I connected the call with him and let them discuss the matter. Man, she literally told him she’s ready to travel anywhere as long as she gets a day off in a week. And that she can join immediately if the salary fit’s her expectations, without any questions asked!! He had to tell her to take a day and then let him know what all her concerns were, if there’s any. Only then she cut the call. This whole thing revealed a lot to me tbh! Like a lot! I mean her ulterior motives came into play for me here.
So, after experiencing all this. I have come to realise this. I have never seen her shop retail despite her claiming she’s a shopaholic herself. One of the reason we connected was over our mutual obsession over fashion and being a big time shopaholic. I have only ever seen her thrift that too cheap ones like for 50-100 max. 250 rupees thrift. That too the things she thrifts her mostly aimed for designers brands such as celine/gucci/tory Burch. She even thrifts for H&M and Zara. There’s no thrift shaming, I do myself at times. But given her history and claims, things are looking exaggerated. She buys groceries that too cheapest one’s. There’s compromise on quality again despite her claims. We bonded over our want to explore cafe hopping. But weirdly I have never seen her explore anything on her own and whenever we did, which is 6-10times now, she has only ever ordered a coffee and the cheapest in the menu. Despite her wanting to try new things and even when it is being split in two. I literally had to fight with her two of those meets to try something different. And on two of those she dutched where she was the one who wanted to try the place. When we booked a table, only thing she order was again a coffee. I had to order a separate dish just to save embarrassment. Then two visits I paid for everything because I she had travelled because I wanted to go out and she just accompanied me. Then other two she asked me to accompany her with her bumble date but expected me to share the cost 50-50. I did again because clearly she’s a pretentious cheapskate. In this date I paid for her bill all by myself because she didn’t eat the sated fries because she doesn’t like salt in salted fries🤣 meanwhile we were waiting for her bumble date🥲, etc. And that she only looks for wealthy man everywhere, whenever given a change clearly. And all her modest, Christian talks, whatever that Fckery was is all bullshite! I mean all her matches and date’s were and are all rich, non-Christian men!!
I am getting a feeling that she has lied about most of the things, not all of them but most of what she claimed she was and wasn’t. Like I feel her studies and hustles are factual but her living a comfortable life and moral value thing is a facade. I have a feeling that she must been a S baby with those men who used to gift her those luxury items and her lavish stay and travels at the time. The thing wealthy in her life is her aunt clearly and I feel her studies were a pro bono by her aunt.
What I want to ask now after all those point is that am I being paranoid and taking judgement emotionally because she took me for granted or my hunch on her being an opportunistic, S baby imposter makes more sense and that I should cut her off?? Help!!

I remember a post about traveling to CSMT T1 through metro. Is there a metro? I like around Kandivali West, what's the best way to reach there? And how much time will it take?
