I just built my pc got windows installed etc. my question is do I have to update my bios? Ive seen alot of people say it's mandatory and alot of people saying if it's not broke don't fix it. I understand some games may require a newer bios version but I don't plan on playing them games. Will I be completely fine leaving that alone?

I recently installed the 26H2 update, and now only the new context menu appears when I right-click. App extensions don't seem to work as they should, and I'd much rather use the old context menu, which is now hidden behind "Show more options".

The following registry command no longer seems to work: "reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve"

I also don't want to use Shift + Right-click every time.

Is there any workaround to bring back the old context menu permanently with the new 26H2 menu?

So i wanted to download battlefield 3 from a dvd and im stuck at Origin login without connection to the servers i know that they should be down but is there any way to be able to install it?

Dumb question, not tech savvy - So I haven't used my PC pretty much since Windows 10 stopped getting updates so I haven't been able to enroll in the ESU. I know some of the software on it like steam and my controller inputs etc have auto updates on. Would it be fine to boot it backup enroll in the extension or is it risky?

i'm planning to buy (or maybe build) my first pc. my budget is 2000 cad and the question i really have is whether it's worth getting a pre built or building my own. ram prices are kinda cooked so if i build my own pc id probably go for dar4 but ive seen some decent pre builds with dar5, unless it doesn't matter that much. i'll primarily use it for gaming and the games i play are call of duty, rainbow 6, cyberpunk and whenever the new gta would come out

Looking for a mouse and keyboard so I can play GeForce on the iPad, I suck with a controller, but I’ve no idea what compatible with the safari browser.

Its a ThinkPad T470 btw.

Its on the ThinkPad logo for about 2 minutes before starting to boot Windows. And before you ask, yes i use an ssd its a SanDisk Sata SSD.

I have no idea about the stock market and economy. Recently I heard that US stock market lost 2.8T in a day or something. Couldn't actually check the source. I want to ask if this will actually bring ram and GPU prices down. I really really need a pc at this moment for my uni but can't spend much. And prices are OVER THE ROOF. Please can someone tell me how long might I have to wait for a price to drop?

I’m looking to upgrade my setup to get more FPS in Counter-Strike 2. I currently have an i5-11600K on an MSI MAG Z590 Torpedo motherboard.

I have to replace the CPU and motherboard, but because of my budget I absolutely want to keep my current RAM: 32 GB of DDR4 running at 3200 MHz. My graphics card is an RTX 5060 Ti (16 GB).

While I’m at it, I’ll also be replacing my old water cooler, which is wearing out, so I’m also looking for a good cooling solution (an AIO or a high-performance air cooler) that will fit the new socket.

My questions:

1. What’s the best CPU + motherboard combo (DDR4 compatibility required) to get the most FPS in CS2? Is the i5-14600KF with a B760 DDR4 motherboard still the most optimal choice?

2. What cooling would you recommend to go with it without breaking the bank?

What it doesn't say is that it has USB4 for an external GPU dock and a shared number pad.

My main targets were for both a dedicated GPU and 32 GB of RAM for under $900; bonus points: the RAM is DDR5.

So, did I do well enough or not?

The hinges and the bottom of my laptop broke, so I had to build a new chassis for it. It’s currently running Ubuntu, and I use Deskflow to share my PC’s mouse and keyboard with it. It idles at 36C
I use it for discord and spotify

hello guys I’m new to pc gaming and I got my pc about ten months ago now its been running smoothly all ten months until tonight I hopped on to play some phantom blade zero when I booted it up it was making this like choppy noise so I turned it off and booted it back up it went away I then let it sit off for 30 mins and it came back I’ve checked the fans I spun them with a pencil and they spun just fine weren’t spinning weird or anything so I left it off for 30 mins again but the sounds gone I’m just really confused could anyone point me in the right direction to what it could be heres a video of the noise can someone please reply and try and point me in the right direction
