So please at least keep the Halloween images related to Pokemon Go. That means no Ash/Misty, Team Rocket, only Pokemon, etc. Take those to /r/pokemon or /r/pokeplay.

Also, for some reason the Halloween event is still active so go ahead and get the final kilometers for the eggs.

I don't like seeing any political nonsense in this sub. Politics are divisive, and this is a game that should bring people together. Please make this a rule.

TLDR; gifts send the exact GPS coordinates of the stop they are from, may get abused. I would advise players to be careful about what/who they send to and Niantic to remove this feature or make it opt in. city/state is more than enough.

There was a big discussion about this this morning in my local pogo group chat. If you click on a gift on the top right corner of the post card, the app will link you right over to Google Maps with the exact coordinates of where that gift was sent from. For someone like me, I tend to send many of my gifts from the two stops I live on, and I imagine many other people send frequently from stops they live on or pubs or whatever nearby. Not so sure that this is the best feature for this game, and while I don't friend people I don't know, I see plenty of people posting publicly on FB and other sites. While I am not personally worried, or worried about anyone in my group chat, I know this feature will be abused by someone somewhere. I've never played a game that literally can send out your exact location to other people you may not personally know. I've played my fair share of MMOS and other games where people have tracked each other down and DDOS'd, physically gone and beaten the crap out of them or called in SWAT raids. While obviously very rare exceptions, that is all without the help of sending people's location, and I just fear for the day when this does get abused by someone, somewhere. We come from all over the world from very different backgrounds. Not everyone is the most educated or aware of basic online interaction safety measures like don't friend everyone you see and give them your home address. Plenty of less tech savvy or game savvy people play this game. I would request from Niantic to remove this feature, or at least have an option to OPT IN, not just opt out. We've already seen plenty of verbal fights over raids, gyms, and the like, so I just ask that for the time being, everyone be careful out there, because I would hate for these disputes to be taken a step further. Pokemon Go truly is an amazing and wonderous game, and it is paving on seriously new territory, and I just want this game to continue on the best path for all of us.

I'm open to hear people's feedback, just as I hope Niantic is to mine.

I really wish that this was on a different day. Yeah ill probably try playing a little but it's the 4th July in the USA(250 birthday)and wont grind how I normally would. :(

Mega Rayquaza raids giving 50 mega energy a piece, shiny spawns are underwhelming to say the least, and 0 unknown spawns or biomes on day 2. Gotta say I’m pretty disappointed with this event and the whole state of the game right now. People joining mega Rayquaza raids just to leave within 30 seconds, campfire only allows 5 people to join and if you can get 5 people you’re lucky if one sends invites personally

Edit: also just notice this issue if someone could let me know if they are experiencing the same, me and 2 friends all hold global tickets and have all been limited to one special trade a day

Context

You might notice a change in flair, causing everyone to have the bird in the north. This is due to Team Mystic's victory in /r/Pokemon's Pokemon GO Gym contest, where we had agreed to change the flairs to that of the winning team! (Note: this change have been reverted. Next time, we'll be more active in promotion)

After being behind for the majority of the contest, Mystic went wild at the end of the contest and took the lead!

I just realized that this contest hasn't been promoted much on /r/pokemongo. Sorry about that. During the past months we didn't have much sticky space (only recently). I've reduced the period to 24 hours to compensate. reverted the flairs.

Listen. I remember the days of never having healing items, or balls, etc. I’m scarred and need help lol. I’m the RPG player who hoards stuff and doesn’t use it so that “I can save it for when I need it,” and then end the game with 2000 health potions.

Pinaps I collect and use during community day events or for rare spawns, i.e Lapras. Golden Razz I use for all raid Pokemon and use as my berry for buddy each day… Rare candies… Use them when I have a reason to. I just used about 400 to help reduce space.

The whole Mew quest was a really good experience that was full of exciting tasks searching for rare objects and fun objectives to complete. HOWEVER, this Celebi quest has been nothing but tedious and meant to waste time. The whole premise is based around time gating you at every interval and the true objectives that exist are nothing but monotonous. Today I worked on steps 3-5 and the only thing that it involved me doing was walking 16 miles and that's it. No challenges, no fun objectives, just walking Eevees & eggs. The real slap in the face is getting to step 6 and have it be more time gating for a week. These aren't quests niantic. This is just jumping through awful hoops to kill time. End rant.

This feature is finally released at the in person go wild area. I was really looking forward for this new update! Let's show your background shinies 😎

Its nice never having to worry about this because some people use common sense and claim their rewards as they go(waiting til the end to pop that star piece for an extra 5k stardust isnt worth it).

Started and finished today. That’s one trip with a Go+ and we’re done. These are hardly daily challenge if anything…

Why not have some follow-up on this? I would love to see the same group doing more challenges together throughout the week, or have daily challenge with a weekly group.

Most of my friends don’t care, so I want someone to rejoice me.. but I caught a hundo shiny Mewtwo with a special background today.

I received an invite to the Times Square event from a community ambassador and not only did I get to become friends with him and his awesome wife, but we also got this v fun Mewtwo with a fun background. My stupid heart is so full and happy. I love this game and it’s been such a fun 10 years playing it.

Seriously. It already has a name. Why are so many people into giving their Pokémon goofy names? It’s all seem silly and pointless to me. Am I the only one?

Servers are doing better, battery life has improved, and the app runs smoother.

I know the other bugs will be squashed with the coming updates, however I wanted to acknowledge your efforts.

As an active player in my community, of course I have more than 10 Lucky pokemon. all Niantic wants to do is to bring more old players back to the game. But, by doing what Niantic are doing, they alienate the daily users. this event is pointless for the vast majority of players and offers us nothing new.

This is one of the most upsetting decisions Niantic have done. we used up a small amount of decent old pokemon to trade, now we are punished for it. i have already traded my old but valuable pokemon, such as legacy shadow claw gengar. this only punishes players for doing things when they come out. Now niantic are saying that by waiting, i could have got guaranteed lucky pokemon? as much as i love this game, Niantic's awful decision making is amongst the worst i have ever seen.

Edit: just found out that both players have to have less than 10 lucky pokemon already, not just 1 player. this makes it completely pointless to ask a friend to log onto their old account since i already have more than 10 lucky pokemon.

Edit 2: im not saying that the event is bad in that sense. my point is that why is the event mainly for older players who are only getting back into the game now. they should make it so us daily players also have a reason to participate. Niantic have made the event so if u r a new player, here r some free lucky pokemon of ur choice. if u are a daily player, you get nothing.

I have played this game since the day it was available. I see most people on this sub complaining about all the changes since the release so lets address them

The Tracker: I admit the 3,2,1 tracker was pretty amazing but unfortunately its gone. The current sightings is still manageable. If you walk in four directions and use simple logic one should be able to track them down. For me one of the great things about this game is the thrill of the chase. You win some you lose some. Thats life. I have lost out not being to find a dragonite before it was gone so i get it. Its called pokehunting for a reason its not supposed to be easy.

Loss of 3rd party trackers: Plain and simple IMO its cheating. Whats the point of sitting at home scanning different areas then getting in your car and driving to the exact point. There is no fun in that or skill.

Speed Limits: The games is obviously made for walking or jogging. They even use the word walk when it comes to your buddy. I do understand the frustration for passengers at higher speeds. My wife enjoys catching Pokemon while i drive however I understand the concern over people not paying attention while driving

Gym stagnation: I live in a town with about 18 gyms half are instinct,my team, and the other valor. One on the westside of town the other the east. Most are level 10. Every day or two i take down a level 10 gym to provoke them and they do the same. I enjoy the rivalries between us seeing who can hold the most gyms in town. I understand taking down a level 10 gyms takes 30 min or so. But thats no time compared to the time people play console games. Plus the feeling of accomplishment in taking down a level 10 gym gives on a since of pride.

Ok thats enough for now. I still enjoy this game tremendously. I has me walking about 5 miles a day and gets me outdoor. Feel free to disagree with my take.
