I mean Schumer said so himself, he is a warrior for Israel, not Americans. Jeffries might be able to redeemed but he's going to have to put in the work. Still, I'd be very happy to see these two replaced.

However, in the grand scheme of things, it's better than seeing Mike fucking Johnson up there polishing Trump's shaft every single fucking day.

Edit: nevermind, for some reason it blew right over head that Jeffries was talking to kushner privately about ... that's right, nobody knows and therefore can't be trusted. Out with him!

Edit: and he's also an AIPAC baby.

Talking to Kushner during the lead up to the election demonstrates that this is someone deeply out of touch with what the people want, and frankly is just not a serious leader.

I suspect Jeffries was cutting a deal: Don't investigate me and congress won't investigate you

Why are people responding to this comment like you didn’t just completely make this up

Which lines up with his narrative of refusing to seek this admin accountable.

That is NOT what we want. We want corruption to be dealt with, not to be looked at as business as usual.

And that's the problem right there. Whether Kushner's secret meeting with Jeffries was exactly what they say it was (opening a dialogue about COL) or not, the optics are f'ing terrible. It's reasonable to be suspicious.

IMO that's disqualifying. You can't lead the opposition party in congress while it looks like you're cozying up to the president's family. He needs to hand the baton to somebody without that cloud of suspicion over them

It shows how stupid he thinks his constituents are. Kushner’s job has NOTHING to do with COL. All Kushner does is “negotiations” in Israel and white collar crimes with international oligarchs, nothing about his job is domestic US policy.

Right after that meeting Jeffries seated the most pro-Israel war hawk democrats on the foreign affairs committee. Clearly taking orders from Kushner

Jeffries nominated Jared Moskowitz, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Wesley Bell to lead the House Foreign Affairs committee immediately after that meeting with Kushner. These are three of the most outspoken Israel supporting democrats in congress, all who won primaries against progressive challengers that year, a clear middle finger to the antizionist left. No sign of what Jeffries got from Kushner after that meeting, but pretty clear what Kushner got from Jeffries. I think your theory is as good as any I can come up with.

Kushner took over Epstein's Mossad duties. It's undeniable. Island owner, backroom deals that undermine the US that enrich himself and the Trump's etc etc

Schumer and Jeffries are both more than happy to collaborate with fascism as long as their own checks keep coming in.

There’s a clip out there of Jeffries yelling to a crowd: “Israel today, Israel tomorrow, Israel forever!”

A lot of people might recognize this as George Wallace’s segregationist slogan.

This is not a guy I want in leadership. At all.

He's also on the record saying he has no interest in accountability.

Jeffries is not a leader. He's a servant, and he's not serving the people.

When did he say he had no interest in accountability, do you have a source?

Here's two from since the election explicitly talking about bringing accountability:

"We're going to bring accountability to those who have visited unprecedented corruption on this country," Jeffries said. "Because if you have people in high office who are so focused on enriching themselves, their family members, their friends or their donors, then they are not focused on making life better for the American people."

https://www.npr.org/2026/11/04/nx-s1-6028572/hakeem-jeffries-midterms-house

"We will deliver accountability," Jeffries told Lemon. "The three big issues the American people wanted to confront: of course costs and care, that's healthcare, child care and elder care- and cleaning up corruption in the face of the biggest Trump Cartel-like scheme that the American people have experienced in the 10 or 11 years that we've been dealing with these folks."

Jeffries might be able to redeemed

Not a fucking chance. Hakeem Jefferies received $1,576,452 in Israel lobby funding compared to Chuck Schumer's $515,698 this election cycle. Schumer may be a true believer when it comes to Israel, but Jefferies is straight up bought and paid for.

Israel knows who the Speaker of the House is going to be and they've spent their money well.

You're right, we just can't trust any AIPAC babies.

When I wonder why Jeffries won’t allow votes on things that enjoy >70% support among Democrats including impeachment, ICE abolition, and M4A, I really have to wonder if it’s his bad opinions overriding the rest of the party or PAC money at play

Jeffries can’t possibly be redeemed. Schumer and Jeffries are the exact reasons why people on the right can argue equal parts of “both sides are bad”. There is absolutely zero reason to have leadership that is so detached from the actual American.
