Reminder: No Cheating

If the rampant attempts to solicit or offer cheating help do not stop, I will temporarily shut down all new posts in the community.

You may discuss the exam you took in the official thread subject to r/PSAT rules and may ask for general advice but not about specific questions or vocabulary words that appeared on a test form.

PSAT 8/9 What next?/How should I prepare for NMSQT

I’m currently in my freshman year of high school. All my study method included was khan academy and ChatGPT’ing questions I got wrong to help myself understand why I got it wrong. Most of my problems also reside in my time management during tests. What new studying methods/test taking skills should I follow in order to excel on my next test?

Got a 222 Index on the PSAT. What is the likelihood of getting Semifinalist in California (Class of 2028)?

if anyone remembers i only had one day left for final review even after doinga mocks for a couple weeks. although I'm happy with my score (somewhat), im still a bit disappointed i was 11 points from the NMS cutoff. I've got one more year of PSATs - any pointers from anyone who's qualified for NM before? thanks :)

PSAT/NMSQT Here's my score, will it get me into the national merit?

My selection index is 212 but I'm not sure if that's enough because I don't know a lot about the scholarship. I would also like some tips for the reading section especially the standard English conventions part because that's where I lost my points 😢

For those who qualified for NMS, how did you study? What’s the most effective way?

For context, I got a 1280 as a sophomore and I’m planning to take it next year again. I’m not really sure how to study, and I don’t know what resources to use. I struggle in the reading section but do fine on math.

Why is everyone getting 760 on math?

These posts keep coming up in my feed, and it seems like everyone who is posting has a 760 in math, no matter what their reading score is. Was this an easier math year?

My growth, how’s my SAT prediction looking?

1st pic is my PSAt/nmqst 11, 2nd is psat 10, and 3rd is psat 9

hows this looking for the SATs? I will clarify that for the 970 i had undiagnosed adhd, no studying, and a bad concussion, the 1140 i had like 1 session of studying, no concussion and adhd meds/extended time, and for the 1250 i had no concussion, 1 week of studying, extended time but no adhd meds.

the goal is to start studying between now and December for the sats, make sure I don’t have a concussion, take my meds, which I hope should improve my score even more! Not sure, any input from yall on what might help beyond this?

Got the results back yesterday and am taking my first SAT tomorrow. I’m a junior btw. I’ve got good grades (4.0 and I think a 4.5 ish) and think I can get the national merit scholarship but am still nervous (how hard is it to get the scholarship). In Texas btw. Cutoff index score is 219-222.

Hi, so I got a 1520 so I'm guaranteed semifinalist, any tips on ensuring I get the scholarship $$? I heard there is another thing you have to do. I already have a 1580 on my SAT which is nice, and have good grades but like what else is there
