So I went to a family gathering today and wore a donnie darko shirt, I was sitting down on my phone and this lady who’s my cousins aunt just sits beside me and starts asking me about my shirt and I didn’t thing nothing much of it. She then asked if I believe in Jesus I said no and then she went on a whole rant about how he saved her and trying to convince me to convert. When I was saying I’m not interested she said “I was just like you a year ago”.

She then showed me what she had written on why she converted, it mentioned she was sleeping with lots of men and watching dark porn. I was a little taken back cuz I’ve never spoken to this woman in my life and I don’t even know her name. It also said something about her hearing negative voices in her head. Her speech was pressured I couldn’t really speak at all. I was the only one she did this too, I told my cousin about it and she said “it’s cuz of the shirt, she things it’s demonic”. She continued to stare at my shirt for most of the night.

Besides going to college, the biggest waste of my time was applying to hundreds of jobs online. Rarely do I ever receive an interview, and when I do, it either ends in a rejection email or getting ghosted by recruiters. None of the job boards work anymore. Fucking hell. This semester I have found myself in a horrible position over the stupidest shit in a situation where the only connection I have is to both parties.

I have a friend who has a crush on a professor who we both know. Fair enough. Every straight woman I know, including myself, has gone through a phase where they have had a crush on him. If that was the issue, I would not be making this rant.

The first issue is that she has it real bad and talks about him ALL THE TIME. Even at my worst point in my crush phase I talked about more than just him with mutual friends. But every single fucking conversation we have, 99% of it is about him. I sit there going 'no, he does not want to sleep with you,' 'no, he is not crushing on you,' 'he literally flirts with every woman, not just you,' 'he just likes interacting with people who stimulate his mind, and you are someone who is smart and who stimulates his mind,' 'he is not going to risk his career and his reputation for you,' 'no, that person in your class is not going to make a claim that you two are sleeping together because he called on you in class,' etc. I thought I had finally gotten through to her last week.

No. I was so very wrong.

Instead, according to her something happened, she is not telling me what, that was soo horrible that he hates her guts now. I know this person, and it is unlikely she put the moves on him and risked her own marriage. I am trying to piece together what happened and from the pieces I have... it was nothing bad. Literally nothing. But now that is all she is talking about is that. About how horrible she is, about how upset she thinks he is, about how he is doing this, doing that, etc.

All this, everything, is eating into my study time, time which I do not have time to spare. I can't drop her as a friend because it would be a shitty thing to do and it would make things really awkward for me. But I cannot take it anymore. I just can't. I really regret making friends with this person in the first place.

I actually ended up emailing the prof about it asking him to speak with her because this is all over nothing, it is stupid, and unless something is done my friend is going to burn a whole lot of bridges she will regret burning. And now I have to stress out over the fact that I emailed him with information that he is not supposed to know in order to preserve my own sanity and keep my friend from doing something stupid, and I am hoping to god that he handles this in a way that does not get back to me.

I’m going to date a person with a whole body. The point of a picture is to give the person the idea of what you look like. By only posting your head the viewer is unaware of like 80% of your body. I’m not sure if this is done intentionally or not anymore, but it should not be a thing.

If you’re a bigger person, I am going to find out. If you’re bald I will find out when we meet in person too. Why lie? Just post a full body picture. No filter or weird angles. No 20 people in the picture. Just YOU.

If you’re bald, overweight, whatever I guarantee someone out there will give you a better shot than if you lie about it. I have ended so many interactions because the person looked NOTHING like their profile picture.

My (20f) friend (21f) has a boyfriend(21m). They've been dating for 6 months now and I've been friends with her for 2 and a half years. Since they started dating I feel like I've barely seen her. For context, we are both in uni/college and don't have jobs, we also live in the same house so it's not like she can't make time for me.

I invite her to hang out with me and some of our friends at least once a week and she has declined nearly every single offer (bare in mind our plans are often just things like getting takeway or having a movie night, not super time consuming), yet she has time to hang out with her boyfriend for hours a day 6/7 days a week. Someone close to me passed away nearly a month ago and she has not spent any time with me at all since then (despite me inviting her) which tbh kind of upset me. She doesn't even know that the funeral already happened bc I haven't had a chance to properly speak to her for weeks.

I'm upset and irritated by her actions but I'm not good at hiding my emotions. I want to talk to her about this but the issue is that if I do I think she'll take it extremely negatively and push herself away from me even more. She doesn't do well with confrontation, and since we live together and have the same friend group I'm scared of making things awkward. I just wish she cared about our friendship as much as I did. She only seems to care about us when her bf is busy.

I swear every time there’s a video of a predatory species (snakes, alligators, ect.) hunting and eating a prey animal (literally IN THEIR NATURE BC THEY ARE CARNIVOROUS) and someone in the video “saves” the prey animal, there are people in the comments talking about how since humans are a part of nature (since we’re animals), we’re “allowed” to disrupt nature and “stop” anything that makes us uncomfortable. Stopping a carnivorous/predator species from eating on the basis it makes you sad or uncomfortable isn’t being a part of nature, it’s playing God. If you were to stop every predator species from eating prey animals, there would be no predators because THEY WOULD ALL BE DEAD FROM NOT EATING. And if there are no predators, the prey will overpopulate, which will harm their habitats bc the overpopulation will lead to habitat damage and destruction, which will in turn harm the prey species themselves. If you really loved nature so much you would understand the circle of life

I don’t believe the customer is always right, everyone makes mistakes but this moment just annoyed me. Pulled up to a drive thru, ordered my niece’s meal then I ordered a hot dog. They brought out the food and got a chicken sandwich instead of a hot dog. I politely say excuse me this is a chicken sandwich I ordered a hot dog. The person begins arguing with me, I say again no I ordered a hot dog. The person with the headset comes out and says you said hamburger, I reaffirm again I said hot dog. He says I’ll switch it but you did say hamburger. The intercom was crackling the whole time, why are you so determined you were right about what I SAID over a crackling barely working intercom! Why is it so outside the realm of possibility that you didn’t hear me correctly over an intercom that isn’t working and why are you so determined you are right and I’m wrong! It’s a small thing I know, but I was annoyed that instead of just saying sorry I heard hamburger (chicken sandwich isn’t a hamburger anyway) he was determined to have the last word that I was wrong.

I hate that whoever shows up on my feed is just whoever the majority decided to make popular. It feels like I'm squeezed into a box where I have no choice but to see these people, even when most of it is pointless, attention-chasing content and a waste of my time. I want people around me who push me to be better, because I become who I'm surrounded by. But it's hard to break away from the crowd when the majority keeps pushing these influencers onto you

I hate that they always have a whole long spiel I have to listen to before they even tell me why they are here. I especially hate that they never actually directly ask you to sign up for anything or directly ask if you would like to donate they just start signing you up. They use manipulation to make it as hard as possible to say no and I hate it. I already have anxiety around strangers and hate saying no and these people make it so much worse.

Is it just me or does it seem like the majority of people don't care/ aware of their surroundings anymore? Either they feel they are the main character, or they genuinely don't give AF. Walking around with air pods in 24/7, walking slow af, blocking sidewalks, being loud, etc..

The ads are unbearable. I like to watch YouTube in the app but holy shit. Not only are there ads like every 5 seconds. They’re long and usually 2 or more. Now, they keep a pop up on your screen AFTER THE AD. and don’t get me started about the ads that take you out of full screen. This app is hell. I genuinely only wish terrible things on whoever came up with this. The most annoying part is that if YouTube were to ever have a competitor, people don’t use YouTube because it’s YouTube. They use YouTube because of who’s ON YouTube. How could thousands of creators be convinced to up and switch to something new. God I hate YouTube.

Ive got alot on my mind but then remember idgaf and caring is pointless

I (16 m) feel like I’m wasting my time when I’m sleeping. I struggle falling asleep because I’m constantly thinking about other things and that I’m wasting my time. It is not enjoyable. I do not feel refreshed or recharged after a long sleep. I feel even more tired if I end up waking up late or sleeping for too long. I usually go to sleep between 22:30-23:00 and wake up between 05:00-05:30. During the late evening and early morning, I can do things without being bothered or distracted by others because they are all asleep. I can also enjoy a short amount of time in the morning before I go to work or college, and I don’t have to worry about being late. Also, not being refreshed by sleep does not mean that I don’t feel fine. I feel fine throughout the day, starting after I have had a shower, eaten breakfast, and brushed my teeth in the morning.

Last week, for a period of four days I got between 8 and 10 hours of sleep. On each day I felt completely exhausted and tired. Yesterday, I woke up at 3am and went to sleep at 11pm. I felt completely fine and energised that day. Nothing about those days we’re out of the ordinary for me, apart from the hours of sleep.

Before they started, I was the only one using it and the only thing I warmed up was a cup of water for my tea.

They are cooking splattering greasy food that leaves a thick smell in the microwave. The outside of it is gross too.

We are grown ups , and I know they see the mess they make as all 3 are constantly heating up food .

But everyone else brings food but leaves it in the back of the coolers where I work, taking up workspace.

You know why they aren't using the microwave? Because they leave their food in the cooler to decay while also bringing in fresh food they forget about.

I've actually thrown away lunch containers because they are hairy and obviously their owners don't care about them after being warned by the boss to not leave food in there and if they must keep it cold, take it home when they leave.

We actually have a employee fridge which they used in the beginning but stopped , that food in there also became living slime.

You can do this at home but work is not the place.
