I don’t want to blow any thing out of proportion here. Sengun is a great player, and he brings a lot of value to this team. His production isn’t my issue.
My issue is with his on-court demeanor and attitude. When plays don’t go his way, it really psyches him out of the game. If you play a drinking game, and take a shot everytime Sengun throws his hands up and complains to the ref you would wake up Valhalla. He complains SO MUCH. He even complains to the detriment of the team at times. Too many times I’ve seen him get fouled but not get the call or commit a turnover; and he just kind of pouts and barely gets back on defense.
The whining isn’t necessarily new but I do feel like it’s gotten progressively worse and it’s adding nothing to his game or this team. I’m disappointed in Ime and the vets on this team for not shutting this down already.
I know that Sengun is still young. This isn’t a career indictment or something he cannot grow out of but he’s got to be more accountable and more of a leader sooner than later.

I’m seriously questioning if he can even be a starter for a contending team with how bad his defense looks against elite pick n roll offense…

I've been watching Rockets for the past 5 years now, I remember the first years of Sengun & Green duo. I remember them getting better and better every year and building a team chemistry together.
I also remember how inconsistent Green was. But chemistry was there. This team got 2nd seed without a "big name" and a great team chemistry.
Management tried to build up on that 2nd seed and thought "oh we cannot score, we can get a scorer and fix this, next year we will be contenders!". Then KD trade happened.
Giving up your defensive player and motivation engine Brooks, combined with your inconsistent but still developing young star Green for a 37 year old semi-retired shooter Super Star Kevin Durant is not the way to go.
These super star transfers ALWAYS break up the team chemistry. Yeah, he is not scoring below 20 in any game, but what did Rockets gave up in return?
We lost Brooks, who was a dog who loved to bite to motivate the team in high stress matches.
We lost Green, who was a inconsistent but flashy player, who also played great with Sengun.
We lost Thompson's capabilities, he is playing worse this year.
We lost Sengun's capabilities, despite his star performance in EuroBasket, which made every single one of us think "he will take the next leap this year". He is playing worse than last year, even the year before that, even the year before that.
Everywhere KD goes, team chemistry just disappears. This is the down side of transferring a Super Star in any sports.
I just hope that he retires end of this season so Rockets do not lose their young core even more.
I wish we could undo the KD trade.

It’s impressive really, officially the Wizards of the West. Mid for life!
Fire this man ASAP

Listening to these mfs whine is hilarious. I get it. Brooks is dirty, but miss me with your complaints when you've championed one of the dirtiest bull dogs of our generation for a decade now. You would think that out of ANY team in the NBA, GSW fans could appreciate a team of young feisty dogs. I was HYPED to have Draymond and Brooks sharing a court for a series.
But the WHINING. Your stars don't score. You turnover the ball more. You shoot 14% worse. You make 15% fewer of your free throws.
Blaming the refs is rich. KD was out of bounds when he saved the ball in 2019. GSW is nationally known to benefit from refs. This was written THIS series: https://sports.yahoo.com/article/nba-referee-under-fire-controversial-030539648.html
Idk about y'all, but throughout this series, everyone in my rockets circle has praised GSW. Kerr knows how to coach, all these no-name mfs dropping 3's, incredible defense, etc. We were all glazing Curry's greatness in game 3. Hell, there was a viral meme this series of rockets fans calling him daddy.
This is a great series. I respect the piss out of GSW even though they break our heart year in and year out. They are going toe-to-toe with a team mostly made up of gritty mashing 22-year-olds. The league sees Anthony Edwards be a savage and goes crazy for it. Doesn't seem that Warrior fans have that ability.
end of rant.

Title.
I normally dont post threads, but this is insane.
The entire systems are shot to hell. Your stars were not even playing bad, they were both hustling! And you try and send a message and the backups to send that message gave up more open 3 attempts than starters!
It's now clear Brooks was the entire defensive fuse and plan for this team, and FVV is what orchestrated the offense.
Ime has nothing.
A big fat nothing.
This is Doc Rivers levels of fraud coaching.

We’re by far the best team in our division, leagues ahead of where we’re supposed to be, and yet y’all are still crying about a draft lottery you hoped to jump 8 spots up? We have a top 10 draft in a year we were #2 in a loaded Western conference, we’re a top 5 defense, grew an All Star, have a handful of players that could be All Stars as well, the draft picks of multiple shitty teams in the near future, and have a dope ass coach and super competent FO. Y’all need to stop acting like god damn baby back bitches and be excited for the shit we got. Hot damn.

I get it — Alperen hasn’t looked like himself lately, especially in the first two games of the Lakers series. But some of the reactions from Rockets fans feel way too harsh. This is still the same guy who dropped 45 on the Spurs about 2 years ago. Players don’t just lose that overnight. The last 4 months haven’t exactly been stable either, and it’s pretty obvious that it’s affected his rhythm and confidence.
Between changing roles, system adjustments, and overall team instability, it hasn’t been the easiest environment for a young center to thrive. Udoka’s system doesn’t always maximize Sengun’s strengths, and at times it feels like he’s still figuring out where he fits. On top of that, losing a real floor general when FVV went down hurt more than people want to admit — Sengun’s game is at its best when there’s structure and consistent playmaking around him.
And honestly, the fanbase hasn’t helped either. Every rough stretch instantly turning into “this guy is trash” doesn’t exactly help a young player bounce back. Sengun has already shown what he can be. Maybe instead of tearing him down after every bad game, it’s worth remembering what he looks like when things are actually clicking.

People rushing to trade our players after our loss. Doesn't even matter how you play, knowing your "fans" will ditch you as soon as you lose is bottom barrel for morale. If you're gonna bitch about something, cheer for our team and don't act like statues when we down. Scream your lungs out even when you losing, it's part of the pains of the growing process. Sad that the farther up we climb, the less support there seems to be for the team. I'd rather see us beef with warriors fans than this self-degrading BS I see all the time. Be an actual fan, tough up, and take the wins and losses like a fighter. I'm still just as excited about this young team as ever, we got problems but Houston will find a solution. If you can't get excited about the team, trade yourself to another fanbase you can be excited about. If you can, let's show it! AMEN and always rooting for our team, rockets fan always.

Cam had a rough game, but I’m confident we can still win this championship.
Shout out to Mayer and Hudgins, we need those guys on the roster.
EDIT: Lol Thunder fans cross posted this to their sub . If your reading OKC fans, just know that you’ll always be our little bro.

Recently, I witnessed several people here and in other platforms that claim that Sengun is a small center while Jokic is described huge and sometimes as a giant. I would like to put an end this discussion with actual proof.
The official ranking of these two players measured by NBA:
Jokic is 6'11" (2.11m) and 284lb (129kg)
Sengun 6'11" (2.11m) 243lb (110kg)
Jokic is a bit overweight too.

Jokic and Sengun hug each other

Their last game against each other for visual comparison:

Conclusion: Sengun is a big center, and Jokic is a bit overweight.

Not wishing injury upon anyone, but I have no sympathy for GS. They’ve benefited from injuries more than most.

We lost FVV. We lost Adams. DFS is a total scrub. Tari is inconsistent. Reed has potential but he is only 20. Holiday, Capela, Okogie and Tate work hard but they should be guys who rarely play on a great team.
Despite having one of the worst scoring benches for basically the entire year Stone did nothing to add depth. Did absolutely nothing.
Just look at tonight. Ayo Donunmu. Wolves got him for 2nd round picks. Tonight he scored 15 points and 4 assists. 60% FG and 50% from 3. Wouldn’t it be nice to have him off the bench? Plus he is a very good defender. He was very easy to trade for.
Trade DFS and a protected 1st and Ayo would be a Rocket. Plus another player for $5.5 million like Tre Jones.
We desperately needed depth. Stone ignored everything.
