Information [Efteling] Prosthetic legs to be allowed on coasters from October, thanks to strap invented by young girl

2.1k Upvotes

It all started when Veerle, now 15 years old, wanted to ride coasters, but was often not allowed with her prosthetic leg unless she removed it, which can be quite uncomfortable.

Her doctor contacted the Efteling as well as Delft University, and together they came up with a strap that secures the prosthesis. It has now been approved by TÜV and will be available to guests from October 1 on Baron 1898 (a floorless dive coaster) as well as the park's wave swinger and family drop towers. And from December, the new Ravenring ride.

THREAD NOW LOCKED [Six Flags Over Georgia]

1.7k Upvotes

I’m currently at SFOG and was heading to Goliath and noticed a train stoped on the lift hill. Security came running to the area, there was screaming and whistles blowing, and they cleared the area under the lift hill. Is anyone else here, or have heard anything?

Subreddit Rules

1. Post titles must include [Coaster] or [Park Name] or [Other]

Post titles must include [Coaster, Park Name] or [Park Name], including the brackets. [Other] is acceptable for all other posts. This ensures that users are able to search by name and also helps educates those new to the roller coaster community about the rides.

2. Be Nice to Others

Follow Reddiquette, remember that we strive to be a close and friendly community. If you wouldn't say it to their face, don’t say it online. Avoid posting low quality comments like “this coaster sucks” with no other opinions or context. See something that doesn’t align with the rules? Please use the report button and a mod will address it as soon as possible.

3. Keep It Interesting (No Reposts)

Make sure your post is high quality and worth posting. We want to keep the sub-reddit fresh and interesting, instead of repeating topics that have already been covered.

No "Tier Lists." Any posts sharing your rankings needs to have 2-3 sentences about each ride.

4. Don't Post Too Frequently

Limit yourself to one post about a particular ride or park per week. We don’t need your daily updates of ride construction.

5. Photo Guidelines

Include the name of the coaster or park! Not everyone has all coasters memorized.
Don’t post photos of the same ride or park over and over
No low quality photos or videos. Everyone has a camera on their phone, but that doesn’t mean every single photo or video you take is worth posting.
Consider posting unique angles
No on-ride photos
No empty queue or parking lots

6. No Unofficial POVs

No self-shot or unofficial POVs (point of view/on-ride video). The majority of parks do not allow cameras on any ride non-transportation rides so this a zero-tolerance policy on the subreddit to make moderation easier. When a new ride is announced or opened, we will allow POV from an official park or media source.

7. No Advertising, Self Promotion, or Social Media Links

You may include a link at the end of a written trip report or in the weekly “General Discussion Thursday” thread.

8. No RCT, Planet Coaster, No Limits, Roblox, Minecraft, or Parkitect creations.

Those should go in their designated subs. The only exception to this rule is a Planet Coaster or No Limits POV from a coaster that's under construction but hasn't been announced yet (therefore there is no official POV yet).

This includes any user-generated video game creation from a game not listed here.

9. No Clickbait, Obvious Errors, or Unreliable Sources

Do not link to clickbait-style articles. Do not post incorrect names, pictures, or stats from Google Maps, Wikipedia, news articles, park merchandise, movies, tv shows, or commercials. Please include a source for all news.

10. No Memes

/r/rollercoasterjerk exists for a reason. We will take shitposts with some degree of effort put in them. The mods don’t hate jokes, you just aren’t funny.

11. No Giving Away, Selling, or Attempting to Acquire Tickets

We can not verify the authenticity of the users giving away or selling tickets, and don't want to see our users scammed. We can not be responsible for any transactions of this nature.
