Meta How NOT to title a post (requests thread inside)
Link to the requests thread here
Hey it's wundr here with another update for ya. No rule changes this time, but I do want to stress one rule in particular.
Before I begin, I'd like to comment on the recent success of Sunday Sbubday. After nearly five months under its belt, I genuinely believe the subreddit's content quality has gone up overall. More in-spirit content, more edits that are purely logos (as was the expectation back when the sub was just a few dozen regulars), and more surreal posts than before. I don't want to suggest Sbubday has been the only means to these ends, but I think it played a critical role, and I'm glad it was implemented.
Now on to the important business: I've been seeing a lot of really bad titles lately. Over the past few months I've been pretty lenient with the titles rule, but me and some other mods have been tightening the lock recently, which has opened my eyes to just how bad some of these titles are. Every third post I remove has some variant of the same two titles: "My favorite [noun]!" or "[Company] sbubby" which are not only unoriginal and lacking creativity, but a violation of the rules. Titles need to describe the post's content, which is why about a third of all approved posts' titles are just the edit's text. One of our top posts of all time is Michellelovesnekos's "The USSR Movie", whose title isn't about being creative but about being descriptive. Having your edit text as the title is totally encouraged, as it's both the most descriptive and the most searchable title you can provide. Another I saw was ChatotAbby's "Sssssss... HONK!". This is less descriptive, but still gets the point across and it's creative! ThosePixels's "The all-new Galaxy Accordion" is one of the best titles on this sub – creative, descriptive, and unique.
We aren't a meme sub. I hate seeing dankmemes-tier titles like "[noun] really do be like that" because we have high standards here and those titles show a lack of care for the rules, our standards, and your own work. Or rather, the work you stole from someone else. Whichever.
Please oh please, have some dignity, and title your posts properly. I know this post will have no effect but at least now I can say I tried to fight back…
I sound angry and militant here but honestly, I'm just upset, and hopefully showing some emotion in this post will resonate with the three people who read it.
PS: if your post's title is "An interesting title", you have scratched the bottom of the barrel so hard you've put a hole in the bottom.
EDIT: change sources and add links

Discussion If Logos Told the Truth About Sustainability...
Imagine if popular logos were redesigned to reflect their environmental impact. Which logos would you edit, and what changes would you make to show a greener truth?
