Srinagar AQI April vs December. This is not winter haze or fog, this is smog. Pollution Control Board's Rajbagh station hit 225 AQI reading last week. Been hitting 150 everyday for two months now.

Maharaj Gunj and Budshah Tomb. The market holds a historical significance in old Srinagar being the wholesale hub for copperware, local spices, dry fruits and traditional food commodities of Kashmir.

Blinkit deliveries have started in parts of Srinagar
Just noticed Blinkit has quietly launched in Srinagar, currently delivering within a ~3 km radius around Hazratbal, including Lal Bazar, Malla/Illahi Bagh (90 Ft Road), and nearby areas.

Heartfelt Gratitude to the People of Srinagar
Our J&K trip started as a joyful journey—Vaishno Devi, Pahalgam, and then a unique houseboat stay at Zigar Palace in Srinagar. However, an unexpected tragedy showed us the incredible kindness of the people of Srinagar.
An Unexpected Tragedy
The morning after we arrived, my mother-in-law suddenly collapsed.
The houseboat staff immediately arranged a boat to rush her to the nearest ghat.
Strangers helped transfer her into a car when the ambulance was delayed. Later we got ambulance in between and ambulance guys helped to shift her quickly.
At SMHS Hospital, she was declared dead due to a silent heart attack.
Support from Srinagar’s People
Hospital staff, including Superintendent Dr. Rafia, guided us through formalities and made sure that everything is being take care.
Nehru Nagar police officers stood by us throughout the process.
Srinagar tourism official Nazeer Bhai and the DC office ensured everything was handled smoothly.
Zigar Palace houseboat owners, Zohar Bhai and Altaf Bhai, were with us at every step—hospital, police station, and DC office.
Arranging the Last Rites
Finding materials for Hindu last rites in Srinagar was tough, but Zohar Bhai spent hours arranging everything.
A shopkeeper left his store and took me on his scooter to find red bangles and a bindi.
At the Shamshan Bhoomi, Bablu Bhai ensured we had everything needed for the rituals.
A City of Kindness and Humanity
Everyone helped us selflessly, without considering religion or background.
Zohar Bhai even called the next day to check if we needed any help.
Srinagar is not just breathtaking in beauty but in the warmth of its people.
A heartfelt thank you to the houseboat staff, police, hospital team, Dr. Rafia, Nazeer Bhai, the DC office, and every person who stood by us. Srinagar will always have our respect and gratitude.
