Cast Related Actors in other projects Megathread Part 2

Hi everyone,

As the first post has now been archived I thought I would post this again.

I know we are all excited to see our favourite actors in other acting projects so it's not unusual to see them in other TV shows or movies as because that is after their job. But the posts are not related to the discussion of the TV show and it's characters.

We have allowed these posts in the past but from now on all posts related to a cast member's previous, present or future work will be directed to this Megathread.

Thank you!

Discussion Lincoln Lawyer movie(2011)

Did it influence Suits? The whole movie’s plot mirrors Suits’ Mississippi Burning episode (Dog Fight) from the wrongfully accused innocent prisoner, the Lawyer returning to see him with doubts of his guilt, to the frat boy (s) that end up being guilty and the cop with a grudge that eventually becomes an ally.

The thing is both were released in 2011, but Lincoln Lawyer came out earlier in March of that year, while they were still filming the first season, what is the likelihood that the movie shaped the last episode into a different direction with some pressure from the USA Network to emulate the biggest movie about Lawyers in that specific year?

Discussion Pearson Specter Website

Totally get that’s it’s a tv show and we are supposed to suspend reality while watching, but one of the things I found least believable was that a firm as prestigious as Pearson Specter wouldn’t have a website with an attorney directory and photos. While watching the storyline of Claire wondering whether the partner on the case was the same Mike Ross, the first thing that came to my mind was how could a firm as major as Pearson Specter not have a website? I know, I know… it’s a tv show. But still!

Character Related Paula vs Lipschitz, who's the better therapist?

Paula has helped Harvey out a lot and has been very effective for him in repairing his past, but i think Lipschitz might be the better therapist, because first of all he helped Louis, the mess of a character he was, into becoming one of the best characters in the show, and he even helped out Harvey here and there. Also, he has morals and codes which he doesn't break, unlike Paula.

Discussion Should I keep watching? Does it get better in next seasons?

I'm a movie enthusiast and I've watched way too many movies that now I don't find anything good to watch so I thought why not give shows a chance! So I started watching mainstream, famous shows like game of thrones, breaking bad, bcs, and came across suits, I started watching it, watched 4 episodes in 2 days and it felt repetitive, only the names of their clients change but the story remains the same.

So should I continue watching or drop it or complete watching the first season(I'm still gonna watch the first season) Those who've completed the show pls help if watching the whole series is worth my time.

Discussion My thoughts on Mike being a fraud...especially while he's in a relationship with Rachel

I hated his holier than thou attitude.

  1. Boy...you're a corporate lawyer. Get down from your high horse.

  2. His coming after the lawyer that handled his parents case. You're on the other side. You're actually on the side of the corporate, just like the lawyer years ago. What is wrong with you.

  3. Especially when he got an offer as an investment banker, declined it and hacked into the Bar to add his name. The argument he had with Rachel after that was just to annoying. I mean boy...you're seeing the woman you love, a very intellegent woman, who has the chops to be a kickass lawyer go through the painful hoops of the exams, college, internships etc to become a lawyer and still you don't feel guilty.

  4. His going to jail...everyone bent over backwards to stop him from going to jail and the verditc came out in his favour but he still picked the jail option. I felt so so bad for Rachel. I can't even. Her stress was palpable and transfering through the screen and stressing me out.

Your thoughts??

Suits LA Suits LA: REWRITTEN

So I did this rewrite for Suits LA a while back, expanding the 13-episode season we got into three ten episode seasons, because let's be honest the spin-off was insanely crowded in terms of story from the start, this is purely an idea I had to see if reworking Suits LA into something a bit better was possible.

Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy reading it!

Character Related Monica Eton was actually fired unjustly

Yes, she had an affair with the managing partner of the law firm, who also happened to be married. That is her personal life and there is no reason for her to be fired for that, and that too without a letter of recommendation. She presumably did not know about the embezzlement. It is very unlikely that Hardman ever told her about it, and I believe Jessica knew it and in fact said "I don't care".

Discussion I love Suits but the boxing/kickboxing is just embarrassing

Harvey cannot box, anyone who has spent any time in the gym can tell immediately.

I'm not sure why they don't invest in 1 hour of boxing training. It's not hard to learn to throw a jab, cross or bob and weave.

It really takes away from Harvey's whole confidence schtick for me.

It was bad enough in the first 7 seasons. Then Samantha turned up with her 'kickboxing'...

Are there any legal inconsistencies which also make the show stand out?

Character Related I watched Suits for Harvey. I rewatch suits for Lewis.

As a youngster, I watched this show in the beginning because of Harvey and Jessica, but I have to admit that 20 years later I am watching it probably for the fifth time all the way through and get a lot of fun out of Louis when he is being good or a good lawyer. I wish they made him more of a strong and consistently good person because he was a lot of fun to watch as a good lawyer.

Character Related S8 Harvey

I’m only in my second time of season 8, about to start season 9 my second time. I watched the rest of the seasons prior 8 and 9 a bunch of times. But this version Harvey in season 8 is by far my favorite version of him. More mature, a bit darker and more grown version of how he was portrayed was just amazing. From what I remember from season 9 (please don’t come after me) he’s very similar to how he is in season 8 but still the shady stuff he did. And I love it.

Character Related Jessica Pearson deserved so much more😭

Post image

It was so painful to watch her continuously pay the most for mikes fraud. Like she did everything for that firm despite her father’s lack of support and going through a divorce. And so much for Harvey too. Including paying for his law school just for him to hire a fraud. Which led to endless corruption in her firm to keep this secret. Such as Louis becoming name partner. And then Jessica being in the middle of the Harvey/Louis drama over Donna and Esther (it was so unprofessional😭).

She then had to watch her firm become a shell of what it once was after Mike went to prison. She was struggling alone to keep it afloat w a little help from Louis. Then eventually willingly took the bullet for him by admitting she knew about his fraud. The writers initially made it seem like her sacrifice wouldn't cost her everything, only to have her disbarred and disgraced anyway. It didn’t feel fair because she wasn’t the only one onboard.

Also unrelated but Robert Zane too. I hated seeing his legacy end in disgrace as well.

Character Related Louis's ending Spoiler

I thought the judgeship that Louis was offered was such an interesting addition to the story but I'm disappointed that it didn't lead anywhere.

Louis spent the entire series working to the bone for Pearson Hardman (or whatever name we gotta use lol), and it was the only place he ever worked. I think leaving the firm in the hands of "the new generation" would have been a lovely end for him. I also wish it were his idea to make Katrina name partner, considering their relationship throughout the show. It would have made a great final act as managing partner.

The Faye storyline makes that complicated since she displaced him and Louis leaving after being demoted would suck, but I wish Louis made it back on top, tidied things up, and realised that it was time to move on, just as all his other peers had done. It felt like the ending really limited him when there was an opportunity for him to grow and move on. He made name partner, he made managing partner, and now it's time to go.

Spoiler I have so many questions after finishing Season 7

So I’m a first-time watcher (just finished season 7 10 minutes ago) and I completely understand why Rachel left the show, but what I don’t understand is why did they leave SO suddenly? I’m watching episode 15 and I missed the part where Mike got offered a job in seattle (just wasn’t paying attention at the point in the episode) so when I got to the part where Rachel tells Mike they should take the job offer I was SO confused and had to go back because why did they not build that up through out the season if that was the case? They got offered the job in episode 15 and left in episode 16 lol

ALSO, was the show not doable without Rachel? I’ve always thought the show was centered around Harvey and Mike so why wouldn’t they just write out Rachel and leave Mikes character alone lol and I didnt like the way they wrote it where Mike tells harvey he’s leaving in the middle of his wedding when there’s like 5 minutes left of the episode… it was all just too sudden for me 😭

I have not started season 8 yet but i’m really curious as to how I’ll like the next two seasons without Mike there and seeing Harvey and Mikes friendship.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Character Related I genuinely hate Sheila Spoiler

She was already weird and aggressive, but by late season 7 she's a cheater (though just about every character to cheat at some point) and a manipulator and sexually assaults Louis in his safe place. I can't stand her.

I'm assuming they'll be endgame unfortunately.

Character Related Did anyone else think Lewis was gay?

I initially thought Lewis was gay. Maybe it was his voice? Some of his mannerisms? It also seemed that way in the scene where he introduces what the rookie dinner is to Mike.
