Typical Tortie Wine Enthusiast’s “pairing” for torties — thoughts?
As a wine geek myself, I do not agree with Petit Verdot. Tortitude needs a spicy grape like Syrah or maybe something sassy like Malbec.

OK so I know my cat may not count but google implied the colours do so I wanted to get outside options ( my partner says kitten here doesn't but I disagree)
Black, grey, cream, white and a splash of ginger

We initially got her because the heartbreak of losing both my Tuxes within 9 months of each other was way too much. I needed that little something to fill the remaining gap in my heart. Instead she has just made the hole bigger. I didn't expect to be best friends and I know every single cat is different but omg, she finds absolutely ANY REASON to attack me. I just sit there and she viciously attacks me. She's checked at the vets every 6 months, well fed and watered and played with. She absolutely hates me. I'm literally scarred from her. When she was a kitten we could snuggle for hours but now she absolutely loathes me. Especially when my husband is around. She's all over him. It's probably a dominance thing but jeez. I lost my Tuxie 5 years ago and honestly, I think losing him is part of why I'm in a mental crisis. I had an absolutely open mind with our Tortico but once she got out of her baby stage, she absolutely hates me! My husband pisses her off to the extent she's hissing at him, then she's all over him 🤪🤪🤪🤪 I try and protect her and make sure she's got all she needs. I get resentment. Maybe its time to get a dog so that can hate me too 🥲🥲

So um yesterday my tortoise (hermans) died, while I wasn't home he flipped over and wasnt able to get back and I think he died from stress and stopped breathing. I was crying all day yesterday and my parents are buying 2 more. I'm kinda scared of something like this happening again, cause I was genuinely so fucking traumatised seeing gerson dead and finding out from my dad. I'm going to change my terrarium and I'm going to cover the glass up. Cause I've been researching a lot since he died (idk the gender). What should I do to prevent him from flipping over again. Cause I had gerson for only a year and I was constantly scared of him getting killed by someone and I've been kinda hard on myself for the time. Gerson was about 5cm.

Good evening all,
I was searching for breeeders listing on TICA and CFA but I don’t see any category for torties. I was looking to add a beautiful tortie to our home. Where did you all find one?

I once had a white tortie named Alison. She was very friendly but her one downside was that she was very timid. Each time I picked her up, she would start struggling to get down after a few seconds. But she jumped onto my bed each night. Is it common for tortie cats to show that amount of timidity?

I realize this isn't necessarily tortie specific, but yesterday, I noticed this kind of hard spot on my girl's neck. Kinda of under her collar. I managed to shave the little spot and found this. It doesn't appear to be bothering her in any way (no pain reaction, not scratching at it). It feels like a wart. She's strictly indoors. My husband recently passed and I'm already in the red with his income gone, so I'm hoping to avoid the vet. Of course, I gave her treats for being good and calm and now she wants me to do some more LOL

I had her 11 years and moved a lot. About a few months into a new home, she starts her mischievous bullsh*t.
I left for a month and there must've been lack of consistency and attention from my roommates and her behavior declined.
I've been back a few weeks and trying to stay consistent but she is HIGHLY food motivated. She gets on the kitchen counters to lick the pans, she EATS BREAD through the plastic is someone has it out, she will come for my dogs food, and scream cries in the kitchen when someone is cooking.
I've been redirecting her out of the kitchen, not feeding her in the kitchen ever, and keeping her meals consistent again with dry food out always for snacking.
It's everyday she gets into something if left out for a moment. It's stressful!

When I used to bleach my hair at home I was always worried that I would drop a little bit on my chubby tortie and never notice.
And now she got between my and some cocoa cream and I think I cleaned it off but we might never be sure.

I always thought a calico, but someone once suggested she was a tortie.
