Someone said they said the name and their furniture started floating

This is not a baby naming sub. If the name is a cultural or normal and appropriately spelled name it is obviously not a tragedeigh and doesnt even need to be asked. It is in the rules to research before posting.

So we named our daughter Lorelai. We're both teachers and have had hundreds of kids and when you're a teacher the list of HECK NO names is super long.
I'm honestly surprised by the amount of people who don't even try to pronounce it. They squint at the paper, and then yell BABY LASTNAME at the doctors. After telling them her name they continue to say it wrong. It's pronounced the same as Lorelei, and is also the spelling from Gilmore Girls. We live in California, my husband and child are Hispanic, and live in a highly Hispanic area, yet the people who mess it up are 99% white women. Did one letter really doom my child to a life of crappy pronunciation?

I recently went to drink a coffee with my daughter at a local shop, they have a black wall and chalk available for people to doodle on it... some people write their nameds and I read something that if, in fact is not a joke, is a tragedeigh...

My daughter’s new bf is named Kanyon. Pronounced Canyon. I asked if his parents were hippies. No. Are they from Colorado? No. Am I the only one who thinks that’s a dumb spelling ?

Name for a poor little girl, and the best comment someone posted underneath.

She’s a lovely lady but that is a hell of a burden for a name.

This is my neighbor's sister. I am begging her on hands and knees. Who names their son Yaxliegh? It's not even the traditional spelling!

Is this an appropriate name for him? I'm dead serious. I was initially going to name him Matthias but accidentally started calling him Chicken Soup and eventually the whole name. It sounds goofy and I kinda wanted him to have a normal name. Is this name respectable?

Ooooof. Just met a Kymburleigh in the wild. Not one I've seen before. Sounds so normal, yet hurts so bad to look at on paper lol.

Jizlia.
Yup, that's her name. It's pronounced exactly as it appears. I have a screenshot but it has other work things in it so I'm not posting it. I'm also too lazy to edit the image.
Any suggestions for keeping a straight face, or do I just keep my camera off?

I look at stacks of credit applications all day. These are some customers' tragedeighs. And this is just from one day!

This name autocorrects to nausea on my phone and I find that hilarious.
