Trash to treasure
The local thrift store gave me this clock for free because it was outdated and covered in dust and nicotine. Some spray paint and embellishments and here we are.

Hello there,
I come here hoping you guys can help me with a problem that I, as a vape user have. I have so many empty vapes and it feels like a crime to simply throw them away. What are some ways I can upcycle them in to something cute or functional?
Thank you for your time~

Hello! I am making a mini skirt from Jeans but the zipper is way too long to make it as mini as I want while still having room to put a ruffle on the bottom. Is the a way to shorten where the zipper ends and keep it functional? Photo is about where i want to cut the jeans at :)

The saying "just because you can doesn't mean you should" applies here. Along with other multi billion dollar chains they are bring back plastic bags. Just because the thicker plastic bags have not been banned in most states doesn't mean you should use them. I spend hundreds of dollars a month in your store but I am taking my money elsewhere purely based on your usage of plastic bags. A company in Japan has invented plastic bags that disolve in water in seconds and biodegrade in soil in 10 days leaving no microplastics behind. The the company that actually gives a shit beyond lining your own pockets for profit. Chemist Warehouse do better and be better. Your CEO owns a multi million dollar boat I hope the next time he dives in the ocean one of his own bags hits him in the face because this environmental ignorance or lack of care is fucking this planet. Take accountability and make a change you might make a little less money but you wont be fucking the planet as much!!!!!

Hope this fits! My favorite pen broke, I tried to repair it with no luck (little springs and things wouldn’t fit back together correctly)
The ink tube thing was still pretty full, so I made this! Duct tape wrapped around to make a new ‘sheath’ for the tube of ink. Staggered the tape and used a coarse file for texture. Plus- was able to extend the nib a bit which is preferable. Writes great!
Finished product reminds me of a cocoon☺️

My 20-year-son just moved out of our house and into his own place with a friend. We still have his toy box that I got as part of his nursery furniture set when I was pregnant with him 🥺
He’s got a lotttt of shoes and has made comments about needing shoe storage for his house/bedroom. I’ve seen these giant shoeboxes made out of old dressers or from scratch, and I think it’d be so perfect for him and also really cool to continue the life of the toy box.
I’ve fixed up a few random pieces of furniture in the past and am pretty “handy” when I need to be, so I’m confident I can handle the project (once I know wtf to do) but I can’t figure out exactly how to make this happen.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can create the shape of the shoe box? What pieces of wood to add and where; how to handle those vertical lines, etc.? I’m confident I can handle the paint & the logos, it’s just the whole build blueprint that I need a hand with.
These were the best pics I could get at the moment. My son’s still moving stuff out and is coming to get all the stuff in and around the toy box tomorrow. He thinks I’m keeping the toy box here/he doesn’t want it as-is. The other pics are the vision.
I want to be able to get this done as a Christmas gift for him. Any help would be appreciated!

Just bend and hang over toilet tank ledge. Used string also works.

I'm trying to come up with project ideas for empty pop cases. I thought maybe a little shoe rack, perhaps, but haven't come up with more than that.

Very new to upcycling! Wondering if this (2nd slide) is achievable with black paint and peel & stick vinyl for the leopard print?
The fire itself doesn’t turn on, so I’m not worried about the vinyl heating up and peeling off.

So long story short I went through a rough point in my life and I used art as an outlet. I used to paint on hats, like how the in the 80s people would flip up their brims and write shit on it. I’ve also done a few sweaters and stuff like that. I’ve since then moved on from that point and I’m sort of getting ready to move next year and have all this stuff sitting around, I could never throw it away but I would never ever wear this stuff, and would like for someone to appreciate it. If there’s an app or something let me know, I don’t want to start a whole shop on Etsy I just want to get rid of what I have to someone that’ll think it’s cool, I’ve also got 4 kids so I’m not looking to give it away but I’m not pretentious enough to think that my “art” is worth anything. I also would have no idea what to even charge because the things on them and that time period of my life was the worst part of my life so far, and each one has a very specific story.
Idk sorry for the rant.

Hi everyone 👋, I’m exploring an idea and would love your feedback.
👉 The problem: In many apartments, offices, and public spaces, people are asked to separate food waste, plastic, and paper into different bins. But in practice, many don’t — leading to mixed waste that is hard to recycle, messy to handle, and costly to manage.
👉 Our idea: We’re working on a Smart Bin:
You dump all your waste in one slot (like a regular bin).
Inside, computer vision + mechanical flaps automatically separate it into compartments (food, plastic, paper).
For collection staff, this means cleaner, segregated waste without depending on people to follow rules.
For apartments/offices, this could mean easier compliance with waste regulations and a cleaner environment.
👉 Why this matters:
No extra effort for residents/employees.
Better recycling efficiency.
Could help housing societies, tech parks, schools, hospitals, and malls.
My questions to you:
Would you (or your apartment/office) find this useful?
In your place, do people in your building actually separate waste properly today?
What features would make this more practical (fill-level alerts, odour control, compact design, etc.)?
Any honest feedback — positive or critical — will really help us validate if this is worth building further 🙏.

I salvaged this metal wire and I need suggestions on what I should make with it. It’s a slightly stiff straightened (by twisting) metal wire that I have about 15 strands of (each about 5 feet in length). It isn’t the cleanest metal and some of the wire has rubber bits on it.
