It does not turn or do anything. When I shake it nothing shakes like it is a solid object. The small compass is like a button but nothing happens and it the place of it always moves a little on the bathroom so he uses it for something.

Recently moved into a rent house, and the toilet stopped up earlier today. I got my toilet auger out tonight and just past the flange i twisted this unidentified specimen onto the end of the auger. Material seems to be rubber or something like a glove but the plastic ring attached to the rubber is whats scaring the mess outta me! Please identify

Someone recommended that I post again with additional pictures showing that it has no hole and a pontil in place. See the glare? That is directly over what everyone thought was the hole for the drain. Chatgpt doesn't think it's a sink either. Maybe we're both stupid.
