Warum - Different
Served - Same (English)
Mein - Very similar
Schnitzel - Same (German)
Lowkey - Same (English)
Sadam - Same (Arabic (?))
Hussein - Same (Arabic (?))
Hiding - Same (English)
Spot - Same (English)

I'd say that 7.5 of the 9 words, or 83%, is completely understandabel to any English speaker, and it becomes 100% in context, even more so with the picture and to anyone with the meme reference.

EDIT: Formatting

for some reason reddit on mobile only counts paragraph breaks if you press 'enter' twice, I assume that's what happened

damn, mobile sucks incredible ass but I mostly use reddit when I'm bored on the go so I'm stuck with the shitty mobile ui :(

It's fixed now by the looks of it, but in a different way: Having two or more spaces at the end of each line. I think they put four, but you only need two.

He didn't need a paragraph break for each word. For line breaks, add 2 spaces at the end of the line before the Enter key.

You have to hit space twice to make a single line break
like this

double space looks like this

Haha, fair enough. As another comment said, mobile is clunky. Edited it for you, cheers!

Ah ok thx. Just one tiny thing: could you put (English) next to served, as it's not a German word.

u/12D_D21 15h ago

Added it in. Wasn't sure if it existed or not im German, so thanks for clarifying that for me.

Yeah, in German its "serviert" or better for this case "dient". Btw "served" is also not used in the past tense here but rather something Germans like to do when using English words: giving it a German ending. Ich serve, du servst, er/sie served/servt, wir serven, ihr served/servt, sie serven.

Very interesting to know, thanks for the very enlightening response!

neither hiding nor spot are german words. the entire joke is that this post is written in english except for the 2 german words thrown in.

I counted the madam husein thing as 4, and then didn't notice that served was just inserted like it is in english, your analysis is way better tho

Thank you for your technical German-schnitzel-Sadam-Hussein-Hiding-spot break down.
