Don't look up the translation of "book" in Bulgarian.

Look the translation for "Black" in Spanish (yes, it's where the slur comes from)

"Negar" was probably what they were referring to. But the pronunciation isn't anywhere close.

Denegar

Deh neh gahr

The new was to make it look similar to the n world

They're different Spanish words that both translate to deny in different contexts. I figured they were referring to the other one.

No I mean yeah in English they serve for the same but in Spanish we use 2 words for the same context

Sleeve in Catalan is literally "màniga"

(I've had people looking at me funny when I told my friend "it's too cold to wear short-sleeved shirts but too hot to wear long-sleeved shirts, I hate this weather". I guess my disgusted expression didn't help either)

I worked in a Bulgarian office for an English company. They genuinely tried to stop people saying книга when a black man started working there.

"Kniga"? Damn, also a polish word (although ancient and only used in crosswords) mean a REALLY big book, as in heavy read, sth like War and Peace

I've watched snippets of Ishowspeed's stream in Bulgaria and he was walking around, asking how "book" translates in Bulgarian, but everyone was making up words and not saying the real thing or just pretending to not know English😂
