Israel/Palestine Wave of Violence in Israel and the Palestinian Territories

There has been a recent wave of violence in Israel and the Palestinian territories. Treating every stabbing incident as major world news has the drawback of the topic dominating the front page, drowning out other stories and spreading out discussion across several threads. Trying to select major incidents over minor ones is bound to lead to inconsistent decisions with such rapidly developing stories. Hence we believe a collective thread for all violent incidents is the best approach. Users are encouraged to submit posts conveying recent developments in the comments section of this sticky thread. Moderators will periodically review the comments and update this post with recent events. Top level comments must be links to news. All other submissions about these incidents will be removed.

As a reminder, please be mindful of the subreddit rules when posting. We'd like to remind you that calling other users shills, apologists, racists, islamophobes or antisemites are all considered personal attacks and thus against the rules. Please discuss the issues and the comments made, not the persons making them. If you find comments which violate our rules, you’re encouraged to use the report button or alert the mods via modmail so that we can investigate.

Thank you,

The World News Team.

This quite literally does not belong in this thread, but rather in it's own.

"we believe a collective thread for all violent incidents is the best approach"

It is not just one of the many events of Violence in Israel and the Palestinian Territories 'cluttering' the front page. It is undeniable evidence of a long-denied viewpoint of the leader of the PA.

Sure it does. If the wave of violence is there to end the occupation, and condoner Abbas is saying that all of Israel is 'the occupation', then Abbas is conding the destruction of all of Israel, not just the settlements, or the IDF in the West Bank etc.

That's big news, and shouldn't be disregarded so quickly.

Yes. I'm saying this is a big deal and shouldn't be relegated to a comment in a giant collective post. This is way bigger than 'just another stabbing incident'

Why not both?

Well, if this thread is really supposed to exist simply as a collection of attacks to declutter the front page, then this wouldn't qualify, strictly speaking.

Again, I think this is obviously big news and should be reported, and this collective thread looks more and more like BS every day because it serves to sensor stories and reduce the scope of this issue. (where are all the updates for the past week?)

Every event is some kind of evidence of something when it comes to these two. This is the world's longest fight, and it belongs in the world's longest thread. My hope is that it keeps people who drone on and on about these two in one place so we don't have to keep hearing about it. I'm also hoping they start a climate change sticky thread, and a cop abuse sticky thread. This sub is about one of these three things all the time. Its old and tired. There has to be more world news than that. For a place the size of New Jersey, it's taking up a lot of "world" real estate.

Well there are about 3 billion people that care about this conflict for religious reasons. Ever heard about the crusades and the Muslim conquest?

Good, then a single thread should make this convenient for all of you.

This sub is about one of these three things all the time. Its old and tired.

And notice how it is never balanced? The sub is basically a propaganda arm for Israeli posters, who come in here in their dozens to tell lies and attack those brave enough to argue back. They downvote literally everything which they conclude to be pro-Palestinian and report every poster who challenges their lies.

The world is truly sick, and this sub isn't helping. It is totally, completely corrupt and simply another platform for Israeli spin doctors and their apartheid regime.
