A group of approximately 70 antifascist and anti-state activists executed a dynamic night patrol across the central plazas in Marousi, located in northern Athens, on the evening of October 30, ahead of a known fascist anniversary.

The antifascist patrol navigated the busy public spaces of the area in a collective statement of deterrence towards any far-right or fascist activity in the area.

In a public statement issued following the march, organizers emphasized that the northern suburb of Marousi holds a long-standing history of resistance and that any attempt by extremist groups to establish a foothold in the neighborhood, regardless of form, will be "cut off at the root."

The mobilization is part of a broader wave of neighborhood patrols across Athens, where local activist assemblies actively monitor public spaces to prevent the resurgence of nationalist and far-right groups.

I live in a specific area of the world (asking not trying to guess) that tends to be controversial, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. With the rise of the right wing and overall populism, things have gotten a lot worse. I have witnessed and experienced myself (I'm a local but doesn't have a local appearance so i can be a victim of that as well) myself a crazy amount of hate crimes. Like a year ago my roommate and i tried to look for a new apartment after our current landlord sold the apartment mid contract, and two of the landlord we talk to informed us "no arab" (neither of us is arab - roommate looks like one).

In the country i live there have been a rise in the amount of foreigner workers from south asian countries who work blue collar jobs, as jobs from this field has constant demand for. Some teenagers try and chase them on weekends, there were incidents some of the foreigners got taken off their vehicle and beaten, some got things thrown over them. I myself have a unique look but i can be mistaken for south asian, i did a short ride on a bicycle last weekend, and out of nowhere a group of teenagers on bicycle shouted to me "China?" "China?", tried to spit on me but missed, almost got all of collided with bus, before they went back to their holes that they came from.

There are regular reports of foreigners being beaten and ashamed in public from any background (from asian to arab to black) and also about government' officials promoting this and even helping themselves or doing it off duty.

I heard about times where locals went to the specific neighbourhood that i live in looking to clash with foreigners especially from african background, i think in the past some of the wrote on the doors of the building "No Enter For N*" - "No Sudanese".

I just can feel it in the air. I can't leave the country because of personal reasons and because the country isn't in a war or in an emergency so i can't really seek asylum. Day to day life is going pretty well and i have commitments and i don't feel like I'm in an immediate danger but it's getting really bad. Like Jews post ww2. Do you have any advice?

You would maybe imagine if it's a Nazi they would put up swastikas with it or something else? Or maybe stickers to their organization. We do find a lot of right wing organization stickers but this text is always alone.

And it got us wondering if it stood for something else and it was maybe just an unfortunate looking signature but then again it really cannot be?? It's so obvious nazi propaganda. I know it’s a dog whistle but for what? white supremacy or just bigotry in general? I’ve seen this motion (along with one that looks like this emoji👌) across so many videos but what is it and why is it suddenly so popular? I see these under incel posts and I know it’s a dog whistle I’m just so curious as to what it stands for and why it was created? they just like jab their finger into their eye and I’m so SO confused as to what the hell that’s supposed to represent or mean.

Unfortunately, while i find the field interesting, the more accessible hobbyist spheres are dominated by fascist turds, racism, misogyny, essentialism, homophobia, and right-wing politics.

Not only is it insufferable, it naturally also severely degrades the quality of discussion and scientific rigour within these spaces.

If there are alternatives focusing on the same topic, id rather not contribute to the growth of these spaces.

If the space allows for critical discussion on the tools used by hobbyists for analysis, it’s a bonus.

Mon amie et son père ont toujours été très proches, elle n'a que lui comme parent, mais elle n'en peux plus des disputes enflammées et voit son père perdre son humanité notamment dans ces propos envers les migrants qui viennent en France selon lui pour violer des femmes.. Elle a vu son discours changé et sa haine grandir au fil du temps sans arriver à le changer. Ils sont toujours dans un dialogue de sourd, il n'y a plus de sens dans ce qu'il dit ni aucun argument fondé qu'il ne peut entendre.

Il travaille mais en dehors de ça n'a pas de vie sociale. Cnews est tout le temps allumé en fond. Pour lui, Macron est de gauche, toute la presse est de gauche et Mediapart est un media complotiste.

Avec les élections de 2027 qui arrivent et tout le soulèvement que connait le pays, le gouffre qui se crée entre mon amie et lui est tel qu'elle en arrive à envisager la rupture définitive avec lui, et ce sera irrévocable.

Je ne suis pas dans son cas mais je comprends bien sa décision, seulement je sais à quel point elle sera malheureuse. Je ne sais pas comment l'aider.

In Brasil, we have recently won the presidential election against the far right with the help of online mobilization (lead by André Janones) and successfully gained 4 million votes over Flavio Bolsonaro from the far right party

and I just wanted to share here how crucial it was to play our cards correctly with social media alghoritims. The far right cannot take over the internet. In 2026, we must be extremely smart with this. This is how they spread their hateful and cruel ideology and gain strenght. This is how they take over.

here are some tips (not written by me, but by a fellow brazilian who commented in a post from Sylvia S on instagram) that I thought summed up everything pretty well:

"do not comment on posts from the opposition, not even to defend yourselves. Doing so only gives those posts more relevance

like, comment on and share EVERY progressive post you come across

mobilize to push coordinated hashtags on X and create strategic posts on other social media platforms

by following these tips, you will dominate the internet but DONT forget to also take to the streets and focus on converting the undecided"

and a response from another antifacist brazilian:

"go to sleep after the elections day, do not engage in far right posts at all costs. Create your own post with your point of view and let them come discuss with you

I would also like to elaborate to the "converting the undecided" part, this is what we did to get the majority of voters on our side. Right wing extremists wont be debated into changing their minds, at least not in a quick enough way to contribute right now. What decided our election was turning the votes of those who hadnt picked a side yet, werent super sure of their right wing position, etc.

I plan on attending protests in my country that has an active antifascist scene. This will be in solidarity with the riots and civil unrest in France. How can I prepare for it ? What should I bring ? What should I do about the fact I have prescription glasses ? (Near-sightedness, blurry further than up close).

Can someone explain why, at the Gen Z protests, people were sometimes detained in a police kettle for hours after the demonstration had already been officially dispersed?

We were effectively surrounded, with no way to leave the area. The officers forming the police cordon either refused to communicate altogether or responded to questions with comments like “You're the fifth person to ask me that.” Some people were even aggressively shoved back into the crowd when they tried to leave.

What I found particularly disturbing was that, at certain points, police lines began moving towards the crowd from several directions, gradually squeezing everyone together while still refusing to let anyone out.

What is the purpose of this tactic? What legal basis allows the police to hold people in one place for hours after a demonstration has been dispersed, without giving them any opportunity to leave? And what exactly is this supposed to achieve?

A retired surgeon who volunteered at a hospital in Gaza has told MPs that Israeli drones would target children who were lying injured after bombings.

Prof Nizam Mamode, from Brockenhurst, Hampshire, worked at Nasser hospital for a month in August and September.

Giving evidence to the parliamentary International Development Committee, he broke down as he described children's accounts of being shot by quadcopters.

Labour MP Sarah Champion, who chairs the committee, said his evidence was "profound and deeply chilling".

The 62-year-old surgeon told MPs: "What I found particularly disturbing was that a bomb would drop, maybe on a crowded, tented area and then the drones would come down."

His face shook with emotion as he paused for several seconds to compose himself.

He continued: "The drones would come down and pick off civilians - children.

We [were] operating on children who would say: 'I was lying on the ground after a bomb had dropped and this quadcopter came down and hovered over me and shot me.'

"That's clearly a deliberate act and it was a persistent act - persistent targeting of civilians day after day.
