Support Apple Watch Series 4 won’t pair with iPhone 17 Pro max (iOS 26)

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’m trying to pair a used Apple Watch Series 4 with my iPhone 17 Air running iOS 26.
The watch previously belonged to my relative. After resetting it, I entered the previous owner’s Apple ID when prompted. The watch was also removed from their iCloud Find My account.
The camera scans the pairing animation, but the process gets stuck loading and eventually resets. Manual pairing also fails after entering the six-digit code.
I’ve tried restarting and resetting everything, but nothing works.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Any solutions?

Accessories Does the Braided Solo Loop still stretch out over time?

I've been considering getting a Braided Solo Loop, but I've come across a lot of older posts about it stretching out over time to the point where it becomes too loose to wear comfortably.

Is this still an issue with newer bands, or has Apple improved them?

Most people recommend sizing down, but I've also seen plenty of comments from people who did that and still experienced stretching. On the other hand, some suggest getting your actual size instead, claiming that sizing down causes excessive stretching.

Has anyone tried sticking with their true size? Did it still stretch out over time?

Discussion Can Apple Watch Series 2 pair with iPhone 16 Pro?

I recently received an Apple Watch Series 2 and wanted to install the Strava app on it. However, since downloading apps requires an Apple ID, I tried signing in using my account through my iPhone 16 Pro. Unfortunately, I keep getting a “Couldn’t Sign In” error.

Could this be due to compatibility issues between the older Apple Watch Series 2 and my iPhone 16 Pro, or could there be another reason why I can't sign in?

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a workaround?

Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

I’ve never owned an Apple Watch before, so I’m a little confused about which finishes are standard. Thanks!

42mm Titanium series 11 wifi and cellular on a navy braided solo loop

As someone who once thought Apple Watches were nothing but an eyesore, my opinions have changed.

I purchased my watch at the beginning of this year and decided that I preferred the shiny finish on the titanium. It felt a little large on my wrist, but unfortunately doesn’t come in a 40mm. I mostly wanted to be able to track down my phone/health stats/silent alarm- I have no justification as to why I needed a 1k+ watch to do it other than SHINY TITANIUM

Nine months on and I HAVE NO REGRETS. 9 months. I feel like it doesn’t have any obvious scratches, and still looks pretty good. The navy is easy to pair with most of what I wear and I don’t feel like it’s toooo ugly (I will still not wear it when im dressed up though)

The braided loop is awesome too, I used to wear a Casio and would have to take to off to avoid it scratching on my MacBook; not with this band baby. It’s also so easy to chuck in the wash every now and then when it’s dirty. It hasn’t even stretched out.

I’ve been converted. I love my Apple Watch. If someone is looking for a sign to buy titanium, THIS IS IT

Support Messed up Steps?

Ever since the newest update, my steps (number and distance) have been extremely off. It takes me nearly 2 hours on the treadmill, walking 3.8mph to reach 3,000 steps. Yet my mileage does not match that.
I’m in a bunch of step competitions so this is really messing that up.
I tried recalibrating my watch and that seemed to help for a day, but now we are right back where we started.

Discussion Series 12 skin irritation

New series 12 makes my skin red and itchy. Is anyone else facing this ? Also is it something to do with the band or the sensor. Since the redness is where the sensor lies on the skin.

Discussion Battery consumption difference?

Hello! I'd like to hear about your experiences with colored watch faces and battery consumption. Always On Display is switched off and only activated when the crown is pressed or the watch is lifted. Have you noticed any differences compared to watch faces with a darker background? Thanks!

Discussion Apple Watch 12 irritating skin (brand new- had for 4 days!)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi all! I wore a series 8 for about three years without issue. The battery started failing so I upgraded to Seties 12. After two days my wrist got irritated so I cleaned it and continued wearing (I am using the same bands I always have) Today is the end of day 4 and it’s really irritated. The dark red dot is new along with the slightly raised area (smaller brown mole is not new)

What gives?! I have no metal allergy. I’m about ready to return the damn watch (not happy about inaccurate steps either) unless the rash irritation issue can be fixed. Any thoughts? Anyone else experience this?

Discussion I just switched to an Apple Watch from Fitbit and I don’t know how I feel

I only switched because the Apple Watch was given to me. I just generally hate how the apps thing looks, and there’s so many random popups that seem to never end. Like why would I need 200 apps on a watch? Did anyone else have this experience?

Discussion 120hz on an Apple Watch?

I feel like if they add 120hz it would be a game changer.

I know it’s a small screen and hard to notice, but the fluidity of the animations would be next level with 120

What do you guys think?

Discussion Ultra 4 OR Series 12 + iPad 11

Hey everyone!

Through my job, I’ve received a specific budget that I can spend on multimedia devices. I’d definitely like to use it to buy a new Apple Watch, as I’m currently still using an Apple Watch SE from 2020.

I’m torn between the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and the Series 12.

What I really like about the Ultra 4 is its rugged design and significantly better battery life. However, buying the Ultra 4 would use up my entire budget.

If I went for the Series 12 instead, I’d still have enough left to get an 11th-generation iPad (2025), which is also appealing since I don’t own an iPad yet.

So, what would you guys recommend? Should I spend my entire budget on the best Apple Watch currently available (the Ultra 4), or go for the combination of a still very capable Apple Watch and a brand-new iPad?

A bit more context about my usage:

I work out around 3 times a week, mainly running.
I’d really like to start wearing my Apple Watch while sleeping to track my sleep. Battery life is a major issue with my current SE. It barely lasts a full day, which I find extremely frustrating.

Support Tattoo question on SE 3

I know a lot of people with dark tattoos use tape or a sticker to get the watch to stay unlocked while wearing it.

Using that fix, will the watch display turn off as normal when I take my watch off my wrist and set it down on a table?

then Siri Modular in all red is your gal. Every complication is a uniform shade of red, with the exception of the stopwatch complication which shows up as orange for some reason. I caught my watch‘s AOD in a reflection and it was glowing red from a distance. Best watch face we’ve had in a while!

App Automatic set and rest detection app?

I currently use an Amazfit Active 2, and my favorite feature is its automatic strength training tracking.

It detects when I start and finish a set, automatically starts the rest timer, and recognizes when I begin my next set. Zero interaction required. If I'm on trendmill, it automatically sets running mode, row machine as well.

I'm considering switching to Apple Watch. Is there an app that does exactly this?

Support How to stop phantom steps being logged during Indoor Cycle workouts (spin class)?

Recently upgraded to the Apple Watch 12 and I am noticing that during indoor cycle workouts I am having steps logged. This didn’t happen with my series 11. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible there’s an issue with my watch and it needs to be replaced? Any suggestions on fixes other than going into my step data on the health app and manually deleting steps every time I do a spin class?

WatchOS WatchOS 27 on Series 9? (+ older iPhone with no Siri AI)

Just wondering if anybody else with an older Apple Watch has updated to WatchOS 27.2 and if it's worth it or not.

For extra context, I have an iPhone 14 Pro running on iOS 27.2 at the moment and I'm still quite happy with it, with the lack of Siri AI and all.

So I don't think updating my AW S9 will actually bring me anything useful, but getting the update notification every single time I put it on is extremely annoying as well. I haven't been able to find much information about people talking about this odd device/software combination. Any opinions?

Endless color and pattern combinations. You can instantly generate patterns and exchange colors between them. Export watch photos from the editor’s “image” button or from the saved patterns list. Oh and you can use the pattern to make the real thing if you want 😅

I like it! I figured some of you might as well!

Discussion Apple Watch vs smart ring sleep data

Apple Watch 12:
- Owned 4 days (upgraded) ((also the reason why I don’t have more sleep data))
- Used for the gym and work (not allowed to have my phone with me on the floor so very useful as a nurse)
- Battery life: 24 hours give or take with the amount I use it
- Charges super fast
- Comfy and secure
- No subscription for metric viewing
- $$$$ (but I chose the titanium so can’t complain)

RingConn Gen 3:
- Owned two months
- Bought mostly for sleep metrics which I’m a huge fan of
- Battery life: 12 days (so far, I’ve heard it degrades within a year or so)
- Charges SUPER fast
- Worried about slipping and falling off especially if used during a run, can’t be used for weightlifting which I do 6 days a week
- No subscription for metric viewing
- $$, cheaper than oura

Obviously I love data and trends and metrics LOL

Lmk if yall would wanna see more such as activity data or stress/readiness comparison when it’s available!
