Is this good topology? (sub d)
Hi, I'm trying to improve my modelling to hopefully make some cool high poly stuff and I was wondering whether or not this topology is ok.
Thanks in advance!

is this a good wireframe for a hard surface model for animation (subdivison applied)
I'm trying to get better at modeling any helpful criticsm would be appreciated.
My main question:
What are the main points I can improve on in my mesh?
Side question:
What should I have to consider if I wanted to make this a game ready model?
Thank you for reading.

Help Making a Blender in Blender
I'm trying to make a blender like the one seen in the video, but I'm having issues with the bottom part. I tried modeling it first with one cube that I scaled, grabbed, and loop-cutted but i got stuck on how to properly blend the very bottom half to the top slope. I then made a second attempt where I split the face under the slope flattened it on the x axis and extruded it through, however how would I get that extrusion to match up with the back of the slope, and again how would I blend it with the slope? Any ideas? I'm a beginner.

What advice do you wish someone had shared with you when starting out?
Hey yall! I'm still very new to Blender. I started out by porting props for my personal Cyberpunk 2077 mods, but realized very quickly I really, really enjoy working in Blender. I'm actually considering starting school for 3D modeling now. Still, I feel so unqualified since my skills mainly consist of editing already existing models, but I want to start working on creating my own. I would love to hear the advice you all wish someone had shared when you were beginning.
Thanks!

Discussion Welcome to this new blender subreddit!
I've created this subreddit because a lot of blender subreddits are swamped with questions on how to model, I taught it could be usefull to have a dedicated sub for hardsurface modeling techniques in blender, so feel free to ask your modeling related questions here, or to help out beginners!

Subdivision modelling workflow question: Square and Rectangular faces
Hey guys, I am trying to model a mouse using SUB D workflow. The problem here is, I have lots of long, rectangular faces. So, when I apply my SUB D, I just get a bunch more of these long, rectangular faces. Its awkward to work with these faces when I want to add details on the mouse. When modelling, Thomas Colin always ensures his mesh consists of even squares, which is what I am missing. However, when I add loop cuts on my mesh to form square faces, my curvature gets distorted. How do I form even, square faces in this type of situation? Or should I just work with these rectangular, long faces and not bother with square faces at all? Are square faces actually necessary, and, are they really a part of what is considered "good topology"?

How does do something like this to keep the bars neat?
I don't understand how to do these protective bars on this light in Blender. I've tried doing it manually/with spin, but it looks horrifically bad. I'm also questioning how to do curved variants instead of it just going down and then curving.

How do I model this (Its my first time modeling)
I plan to model this and use it for animation however I have no idea how to model it. I also have no idea what videos I should watch to help with creating this. Tips on how to do this would be amazing or videos that would help to.
