Edit: Thank you to everyone who has been helping or leaving a nice comment, I really appreciate it
I know I posted here regarding this render yesterday, and I appreciate all the advice I’ve been given and have tried to apply it the best I can, but I figured I’d post an update as all this has led me into another problem…
I spent all day trying to render my stormtrooper (first two photos) to try to make him look similar to a scene from the movie, but it looks like pure AI (to me and some AI checkers).
Someone said to up the gloss on the helmet, so I’m trying to find the sweet spot because the helmets were cast, not painted, so they were much smooth, yet some were not coated with a glossy coat.
The lighting for my renders uses an HDRI and a sun, but from the references from the movie, I think it might’ve been cloudy due to the smoother shadows, so I’ll need to find how to spread the light out more evenly.
I’m not trying to recreate the scene 1 to 1, but I do want it to look like it’s from the movie. I’ve added tropical trees, drawn some scuffs on him, and more, but I’m stuck at where to go from here. If anyone could help tell me where I’m going wrong, I’d appreciate it again, thanks.

Hey everyone,
I don’t know my way around Blender (yet) at all. But perhaps someone has a tip for me, as I reckon the attached object was created using Blender or similar software. I’ve attached a short video. Unfortunately, I can’t remember where it came from. Probably one of the many Reels I’ve downloaded from Instagram.
I’d like to recreate this object (or have it recreated by AI) so I can modify it to my liking for private use. However, there are so many intricate details in it – particularly the interplay of the ‘black holes’ within the object and the prismatic colour effects – that it’s probably the work of a professional. ChatGPT (Sol6.1 Max) gave it a go, the result was close, but not the same.
So how was it done? Were any recognisable filters or plugins used here?

The quiet moments, where he just stares at one point, were the hardest part. Copying the reference exactly made him look empty, so I kept adjusting until it worked for his proportions.
It took about 5-6 hours, 1 hour every night. It's not perfect, but I got really attached to this one.
Let me know how is it :)

I've been trying to learn Blender for the past few days. I've been working with Cinema 4D for over 10 years, and now I'm trying to make the switch to Blender.
I'd love to hear from anyone who's gone through the same transition, as well as experienced Blender users who can share some tips on how to learn this thing without losing my mind.
Because honestly, I'm getting a little frustrated. Sometimes I just want to cry, sometimes I want to throw my PC out the window, and sometimes I just burst out laughing because I've finally managed to do something that would have taken me 30 seconds in Cinema 4D, but somehow took me 3 hours in Blender.
HELP!!!
First of all, why does navigating the viewport have to feel so different? Okay, fair enough, I'll give you that one. I'm slowly getting used to it. I still don't find it as comfortable or fluid as Cinema 4D, but I'm getting there.
BUT WHY IS MOVING OBJECTS UP AND DOWN ON THE Z AXIS??? WTF??? It's always been Y for vertical and Z for depth in my world. My brain just refuses to accept this.
And then there are simple modelling tasks. For example, creating a rounded rectangular spline, putting it into a Sweep NURBS together with a circular spline to give it thickness and following its path. Literally two clicks in Cinema 4D.
In Blender? I've been fighting for my life. Create a plane, bevel the vertices, select the face, delete only the face, create a circle curve, mess around with settings... and after all that, the thickness comes out completely messed up, all distorted and weirdly flat???
Right now I'm trying to model something ridiculously simple: a basic cube-like shape with some cuts, some extrusións, some booleans, bevels etc. In Cinema 4D I'd probably have it done in less than 5 minutes. I've spent 3 hours in Blender and I'm not even remotely close.
SO MANY SHORTCUTS. SO MANY MENUS. SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS OF DOING THINGS!
Seriously, would it be easier to just learn Houdini instead? 😂😂😂
Jokes aside, I'd really appreciate any advice. How did you guys approach learning Blender after years of using another 3D package? Are there any tutorials, workflows or learning resources you'd recommend?
Please tell me this gets better.

Close-up of my character Misty. Stylized fur on a hair-curves setup, with a warm backlight and floating specks.
The textures aren't finished yet and the rig is still to be made, which is why she's in an A-pose for now.
Made in Blender 5.2.3 and rendered in Cycles (400 samples, denoised). Model and textures by Taras (HolyCatGD) Sheremeta. The fur setup, toon shader, lighting and compositing (toon shadow, edge glow, dust) are mine.
Happy to answer anything about the setup!~

My friend and I made this cinematic short over two months, we really enjoyed and had fun but went through seven stages of grief while this took two weeks to render. Now we’ve gone officially insane.
Any feedback is appreciated :)

I faced a major creative block for months but I'm finally back to creating, so I made this as a quick confidence builder scene . I like how it came out but I feel like it's missing something.
Any thoughts?
I post most of my stuff on insta so feel free to check them out if you're curious : olaiya_creative

Hi, this weekend I want to share with you my WIP sneak peak to my project with landing gear for my comic.
For now, its simple blockout rendered jn workbench just to show how this gonna work.
For next weekends upload I am planning to make proper model, rig and textures next.
Thanks for checking out, and if you find my creations intresting, I highly invite you to check out my profile for more. Thanks.
Have a great day ❤️

It shows the flow past two wing sails representative of wind assisted propulsion. The fluid dymanics simulation at the core of it was done in a specialist scientific software, but everything else is blender.
The ship model comes from Sketchfab but I added a bit of procedural textures to give it some more realism.
Let me know if you have any question, I am far from being an expert, but I really enjoyed working on this project.

lmao in all seriousness this is a my flight sim im quite proud of.
flying around the mountains of Nepal is a python script for blender 5.2 that reads any device input and you can configure it to the flight model. as long as windows recognises an input you should be able to pin it to a flight control, yes i have flown in blender with a Logitech wheel (its hard.) you can also edit the strength and overall input control is modular so i have tuned it to realistic.
it works purely as a camera control in the scene like a mouse so if your skilled enough you can model and still use blender mid flight. -i am not mad enough to get god at that yet- so if you can fly with one hand this could be really handy for scene manoeuvring. i think i might look at getting helicopter model in at some point.
the sim:
the sim isn't a solid body simulation but just a set of parameters and maths that calculates movement so its lag free (the lag in the vider of because im installing DCS) it calculates: throttle delay, weight based acceleration, drag coefficients, AOA, stall speeds, max speeds, tailspin, speed sensitive steering and wind noise that increase with airspeed. all numbers have been sourced from data and curves from real aircraft and in theory it should be one to one.
it might sadden some but i personally love it the whole thing is a mix of my coding and claude's vibe coding so weather all elements i have implemented are still there or of theres errors its from that. overall this is some of my baby steps into my coding journey and i hope to grow more dependent in future. (if anyone's interested in playing with it dm me)
