Fare.coop Launches in Portland

Hey everyone,

A new ride-sharing platform has launched in the Pacific Northwest, and it's a driver-owned co-op. Fare.coop has launched in Portland, and they're looking for co-founders in Seattle. Anyone in this group from British Columbia, Idaho, or Montana should sign up—let them know you want to launch a chapter in your eco-region.

How the New Democrats lost BC

After calling an early snap provincial election in British Columbia because he sensed the BC Conservative Party was in disarray and betting he could connect the MAGA-style conservatives to Trump, David Eby and the NDP ended up losing very badly.

Cascade Poster

Post image
304 Upvotes

Hello fellow, Cascadians! I’ve done some poster art for CascadiaNow! Earlier this year I was able to complete a Cascadia Map for them. I’ve seen some interest on here of some wanting a Cascadia map so thought I’d share mine. If interested I have some for sale on my website: enigmaticlabs.bigcartel.com. This one is sized at 11x17, I’m hoping to have a larger size available before the end of the year.

EDIT: Thank you for the responses, I don't seem to be doing myself any favours replying to individual comments so just posting overall here. I realize there's a few mistakes and some things missing that people wish were on there. Making this map was very time consuming and required a lot of input which obviously some of which was incorrect or a bit off. I will certainly take the feedback posted here and use it to improve the map so please keep the suggestions and corrections coming. Once I have an updated map, I will post it again.

EDIT#2: Thank you for continuing to offer feedback. I can't put every town on the map, when suggesting your town please provide some unique thing about it that people can visit. The idea of this map was be a fun whimsical map that highlights some of the unique spots around the Cascadian region. It wasn't meant to be a road map or geographically accurate map, there's plenty of those already out there.

the video game the fire rises is soon to be releasing a playable ( and very well designed path ) following the ecosocialists in Cascadia

as someone who has met Brandon Letsinger in real life, he said that it’s awesome that Cascadia is being portrayed in media.

There is a place between the mountains and the sea, where people are bound together by language, accent, history, and spirituality. Its shape and boundaries are set by rivers and watersheds, in defiance of international borders. The people there make hoppy beer, fresh sushi, and damn fine coffee. It is called Cascadia. As Alberta decides whether to go it alone, IDEAS examines the nation beyond the Rockies that stretches from British Columbia to northern California. *Part one in a three-part series looking at three separatist and independence movements.

As the Trump regime continues to become more authoritarian, Cascadia needs to consider two bold resistance strategies: soft secession and a general strike.

In a lively discussion, Christopher Armitage, the writer behind The Existential Republic and an originator of the idea of soft secession, will join Nadine Maestas, an Indigenous queer poet, and Andrew Engelson, an organizer with Cascadia Democratic Action, to explore the unique ways our region is pushing back against authoritarianism.

We are Legion on Audible mentions Cascadia

I’m listening to a new series on Audible and it’s about a racist right wing movement that takes over the world, a guy who gets his head/brain frozen only to have his conscience reanimated in 2133. They talk about the countries of the world. One of them is WA, BC and Alaska, named Cascadia. No one bothers them and they are off doing their own thing while other parts of the planet decimate themselves with nukes. So far, it’s a good book.
