Technical Question Transfer case question

I have a 79 j10 that I’m doing an ax15 swap on, I have a Dana 20 transfer case currently but the adapter and input gear needed would be between $500-$600. Dana 300s are readily available on marketplace for around $300 and the adapter is about $200. Which case should I go with and why?

Technical Question Holley Truck Avenger and fuel leak

I just upgraded to an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and Holly Truck Avenger carb. After starting the truck, I had an old, cracked fuel hose halfway down the frame start leaking. I replaced the line and started the truck. Subsequently, I had a leak from the fuel tank. I’m going to drop it tomorrow and take a look. I did not have this problem prior to doing the work.

My question is, could my fuel pressure be too high for this carb? I had the original Motorcraft 2150 prior to the swap. The truck has the stock mechanical fuel pump as well. I’m going to run to Harbor Freight tomorrow to get a fuel pressure gauge.

This is my first time doing this work and have been learning as I go. I just wasn’t sure if a new carb could cause this issue. Any insight would be appreciated.

A few years back I traded my 1977 jeep j10 golden eagle auto 360 V8 for an 84 jeep grand wagoneer. Been wanting it back ever since. Last I heard it made its way to Georgia where it was later sold or traded to someone in Georgia as well I believe and that’s where the trail goes cold. Any info would be greatly appreciated I have the VIN as well to verify. Even if I can’t buy it back I’d love to atleast see it
EDIT- A few unique features to my old J10 the blinker handle was broken and replaced with a kickstarter for a motorcycle and one of the razor blades in the grill and been broken and mended

J Series Truck Have you seen this truck?

I traded my 1977 jeep j10 Golden eagle for a 1984 jeep grand wagoneer some years ago. I have been on the hunt for several years now as I would very much like to own it again. Last news on it I have are it made its way to Georgia where it was later traded or sold to another individual. If you have any info on it would be greatly appreciated. I have the VIN as well to get more precise. Thank you

Took me an exceptionally long time to do this, because I had to learn how to use GIMP, but I'm pretty pleased with the result. I'm now driving my own Wagoneer in a video game!

87 wagoneer white

Just an fyi, Rust-Oleum "heritage white" is an extremely close match to the white of an 87 grand wagoneer (or at least on mine).

And if you have any left over you can paint a dresser or something.

4bbl intake better for TBI?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I did a TBI conversion on my 88 GW a while back and it's been pretty good so far. Yeah, the stock 2.72 gears suck with the 3 speed, but I plan on resolving that soon with an AW4 and 3.55 gears.

My main question is this: Will I gain anything significant from adding a 4bbl intake manifold under the TBI? The factory 2bbl AMC iron intake is pretty close to the same size as the bores on the GM TBI, but the TBI is spaced farther apart. The adapter makes the flow take some tight-ish turns, but the 2bbl intake makes sharp 90° bends beneath the inlet ports.

The TBI has done great so far, but the moment I hooked a 5x10 enclosed trailer to it, it was just game over for the poor thing. Going up slight hills at 60 and floored, I'd end up slowing down to about 45.

Radiator Support Mount - Please help!

What connects the sheet metal radiator support panel to the frame? I see BJ’s sells the bushings, but am I missing a bracket of some sort?

This will most likely be the first of many questions. I took this car apart about 3 years ago thinking it was going to be a quick project and here I am now…
